RE: Potty Training

Maggie, did I miss something? I would like a generous check. ;)

RE: Potty Training

ohhhhh, me too maggie! even a not so generous check would be fine;-)

i think i will go with my instincts and all of your collective responses and just wait on the potty training, and probably even getting a little potty. ds has a funny stubborn streak, and he is happiest when he makes his own decisions. wonder where he gets that....

melanie, hope you are safe with all that nasty weather! i was wondering if you know of a safe otc anti-tussive for pregnant women? i have this horrid tickle that makes me cough and cough - i was up most of the night with it, and i am quickly losing my resolve to take nothing.

needless to say, i got up and ran this mornign, but when a bit shorter than i wanted to b/c i had to get to work. it felt good, though. i have done almost all of ctx upper body twice this week so far, really heavying it up. i am pleasantly surprised by how sore i am. leaner legs will only be once though. not sure i could ever do that twice in one week!

jen, when do you see your dr? maggie, when is your big us? i hope you are still feeling better. anne, where are you? hope all is well.

i will bbl.

RE: Potty Training

I'm going to ease off on the potty training as well. If he's 16 when he's potty trained, oh well! He lost interest in the Swedish fish candy, so it's no use right now.

I just got home from grad class (4:15-9:00)-yuck! My DH and I will go on a date on Sat night to make up for class tonight.

Morris-I go to the dr. on 3/3. It will be here before I know it. I can't remember what happens at the first appt. What should I expect?
By the way, are our sons related? He is very stubborn when he does not make his own decisions (he couldn't have gotten that stubborn streak from me either }( .

I am off to bed!

RE: Potty Training

Hello everybody! I've had a busy few days. Nice to read about everyone's pregnancies/kids/babies. My girls potty-trained so easily at exactly 2 yrs. old. It was wonderful. I can't believe I'm going back to diapers! Blows my mind! We were sure we were done, but now that its fully sunk in I couldn't be more excited.

I have a question:
Do you just *know* when to ease up on the amount you're lifting? I'm just 5 weeks along and feel like I want to lift what I normally would but DH worries and sometimes it makes me worry. When did you decrease your weight selections? Also, I was dong Imax3 on Tuesday. This one definetly gets me huffing & puffing. I've read you're okay as long as you can say 2-5 word sentences. I could do that but it sure wasn't nice easy talking. What other guidelines do you follow?

Sorry to be so lengthy.
Hope everyone continues to do well and we all have safe, healthy pregnancies.

WoW! I'm a little emotional tonight!
I'd better sign off before I get too sappy!
Good night!:7

RE: Potty Training

jen, first dr visit for me was a lot of info from the nurses, blood work, and a doppler to check the heart beat. with both of mine they could not hear the heart beat so they did a quick scan in the office. it was very reassuring.

kate, i think everyone is different with weights and what they are comfortable with. i continue to lift as i noramlly do. i do notice that with some lower body work with a heavy barbell i feel it in my lower back (esp with leaner legs this week, though that isn't really too heavy). as far as acrdio, i am still doing imax 3 - i think my time is limited, though (i am 22 weeks). i too follow the talk test, but sometimes, just climbing the stairs carrying ds at the end of the day, i am too winded to talk! you may find you have one week where you cannot do anything, then you feel fine the next. i think it is really important to listen to your body. and i am right there with you with the emotional bit. i cry giving ds a bath sometimes.

i had a great workout this morning - i did cardio fusion mix and match but subbed low max drills for the lic section. my legs are fried! also, i ordered some weighted gloves for kb. they should be here next week and i cannot wait. i have another long day at work today, so i will bbl.

RE: Potty Training

Morris - Thanks for the info. Glad your WO was good. I'm doing Rhy.Step today and I can't wait. Going to head out on some errands then I hope I get to get it in before lunch.

Hope everyone has a great day!

RE: Potty Training

Hi ladies! Sorry I've been scarce, but it's been busy at work and home. I've been reading and lurking though, lol! Just not enough time to always post. Even now as I post, I should be heading out the door to drop my kids off at my parents then head out to work. The kids have a 4-day weekend from school.

Anyway, I have been eating well the last few days and I already dropped 3 lbs! I'm so excited and happy! I also am in the midst of debating getting a little spot on my lip removed. My dermatolgist doesn't think it's anything to worry about, but he said if it makes me feel better he'll refer me out to the plastic surgeon under a biopsy so I can get it covered by insurance. I'm making an appointment this am with the plastic surgeon to see what it involves.

I o'ed a few days ago so hoping maybe something will happen the 2 times DH made a "deposit." Like I said, it's been busy at home too, lol!

I'm thinking of you all!

Lisa

RE: Potty Training

Lisa:
LOL!!! on your last comments - too funny! How long have you guys been trying? With DD1 it took 8 months, Isabel was right away.

My kids have a long weekend too - yay! I love having them home with me. Good job on the ###. Good luck w/ your lip.

I got a quick power-nap and I'm feeling great. I've been *so tired* and can't decide if its the pregnancy or staying up too late. Hopefully I'll get to bed at a decent time tonight.

RE: Potty Training

Lisa, glad to hear from you. I will keep my fingers crossed!!!

Kate-I was so tired all day too, with a really nasty headache. I literally wanted to cry a few times because of how tired I was. My class had their valentine's party this afternoon, but at least I didn't have to run things. The room parents handle the parties. It is now just about quarter to 8. I put my DS down for bed, and I just may do the same.

RE: Potty Training

Kate - This is the longest it has ever taken me to get pg. Any fun plans with your kids this weekend?

Jen - Hope you feel better and get to relax and rest this weekend.

Off to take dd to soccer practice. I think I'll do B&G tonight. We'll see.

Lisa

RE: Potty Training

Lisa, B&G sounds great. L&G is on my rotation for tomorrow.
Fun plans? YES! We're going to the rodeo tomorrow. We're all super excited. Wish me luck avoiding "rodeo food"!:) there are these cookie ice cream sandwiches that are there every year that are already CALLING me!!:+
Sunday is church/family day - my favorite.

Hope DD had fun at soccer. How old is your brood?

RE: Potty Training

what a busy group we have!

kate, have fun at the rodeo - is it a family affair?

lisa, i admire you working out at night. i am hopeless at that - occasionally can manage some floor work or weights, but not much.

jen, hope you are feeling better!

kristan, how was your run the other day?

maggie, how are you?

hi anne, hi autumn, hi mel

i had an awful day yesterday. i was completely exhausted by lunch but still had 5+hrs of work. i fell into bed at 8 only to wake at 11:30 coughing. up and down all night, so i stayed in bed when i'd normally work out this morning. nw i am back at work:( and feeling so guilty for missing ds. talk about hormonal! it is just hard with dh gone, i feel like i need to do more for ds, not more work. i plan to workout during ds's nap, but we will see. hope to run a bit ond do amys hi lo dome. we will see. right now i just want to go to bed.

lisa, i have my fingers crossed for you on this 2ww

RE: Potty Training

Morris, A good sleep will refresh you!
Yes, all of us will go to the rodeo. We're definetly not farmer-types but I love to see the bull riding, etc.
When will dh be back? My dh used to travel and I hated it.

I read a long time ago that a preg woman's hormones double every 24 hours. DH says mine TRIPLED last night. I was super irritable first thing this morning but I'm doing better now. Going to go do legs & glutes - that'll put me in an even better mood!

Hope you all have a fun/relaxing weekend.

RE: Potty Training

kate, when do you usually fit workouts is? what sort do you like to do?

lisa, a big congrats on the weight loss! that is fantastic. must feel so motivating. i must admit, i am tired of the scale going up. i feel best when i wake in the morning as after eating i am already feeling uncomfortable.

RE: Potty Training

Morris, I am generally an evening exerciser. I really like to WO in the day but with my schedule its nearly impossible most days. Usually its after DDs go to bed - I start around 8. On Thursdays I get to while Isabel is at preschool so that's always a treat. DH knows Sat after b'fast is Mama's time to WO. Woe to the person who gets in the way of my Sat AM WO!!:) Wed. is my rest day.

DH & I run a pretty large plumbing contracting business and it's very stressful. I'll be scaling WAY back and hiring someone to do my job for a while. I want to be with my baby and my girls. I'm officially a SAHM but there is ALWAYS something for the business that needs my attention.

I'm looking forward to when Gina is in 1st grade, Isabel will have preschool 3 mornings a week, and hopefully I can work out while the baby sleeps those 3 mornings. Yeah, right!! That's my plan anyway.

Glad you feel good in the AM. When I was preg w/ Gina I puked for HOURS every day for 5 months. With Isabel I puked all day long. So far no queasiness with this one - maybe its a boy and he's being kind to me!!

Just finished Legs & Glutes, ate my larabar, drinking my water....
off to play barbies for a bit!

RE: Potty Training

well, i slept in again!!! i must get out of this habit. i did get in a fantastic workout yesterday - 5mil run and hi lo dome. today i will try again during nap time, but tomorrow, i have to get up!

kate, how was the rodeo?

RE: Potty Training

Morris, Looks like its me & you this weekend! Glad you got to sleep in. Wait....what IS sleeping in? I haven't done that for almost 6 years? (Gina will be 6 next month!:) )

Good for you on your WO!
Kohl's has a Bosu on sale and I have a coupon so I'd be able to get it for $70. Can't decide if I should get it.

The rodeo was great fun - bullriding, calf roping, steer wrestling. The girls had a blast.

I just finished MM UB & abs. I love this WO.

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend!
Tomorrow Gina has the day off of school - yay!

RE: Potty Training

Hi Girls,
I got to sleep in this morning too (until almost 7:00a.m.-wow!). I did 4Day Split low impact step and shoulders, calves and core yesterday. Today, I took my son on a walk. It was only supposed to be a short one, but he kept on going so I kept going. Our neighborhood connects with another neighborhood, and he has always been in a stroller when we went on the trail that connects them, but he wanted to walk on it today. So, we took a long walk, went to a playground, and of course, he didn't want to walk homex( . I didn't realize it but we were out for almost 2 hours! We did finally get home, but it was a lot of prodding, carrying for a bit and making him walk.

I took long naps the past two days (thanks for my wonderful DH). I can't take them during the week, so I catch them when I can. I still don't have any cravings, but I am so turned off of food I can't stand it. I don't feel like I am going to get sick, but I don't want to eat anything either. I force myself to eat, but it's not fun. And, I like to eat, so I am frustrated! This happened with my first pregnancy too;( . Has this happened to anyone here? How did you deal with it?

I just bid on some maternity clothes on ebay-that was fun:). I will need some for the spring/summer. My last pregancy was over the winter, so I have a lot of sweaters, but no summer stuff.

My DH wants to know what I want for supper-yuck. I even planned our meals for the week, and nothing appeals to me at all. I am hungry, though. As I am typing this, my stomach is growling!

-Jen

RE: Potty Training

Jen, Sounds like a nice day for you! I'm looking forward to nice liong walks but it is FRIGID here (MICH) now! Hope you get your maternity clothes you bid on! Exciting! I can't wait to get some.

Unfortunately, food ALWAYS sounds good to me!!!
How far along are you? (Forgive me if you've said already - Still getting to know everybody here..)
