TTC/Preggers Check-In March 23

Kristan, Good job on the odd jobs!:) ugh...the sippy cups. And I thought I was getting rid of the last of mine!! wah!!!! Glad you liked your WO! oooh! Frosted Flakes! A pre-preg fave! cocoa puffs, lucky charms....FRUITY PEBBLES! I never eat these cereals, but if I did...oh man! yum!!

I'm gonna go WO!!!
1st time since 3-11!
I'll do the cardio from 4DS LIS, maybe some of HIS.
Gotta push all the Barbie stuff outta my way first - DDs have been taking advantage of my unused workout space lately!x(

Hi Girls,
This has been one whirlwind of a week! I have DS's birthday party tomorrow, had a catastrophe with cat's paw (started bleeding all over tonight), have to finish cleaning, and am pooped out. After I am done typing this, I am going to exercise. I need to do upper body and abs, but I am craving some cardio. My workouts have been light this week. A walk on Monday, a walk on Wed, and something to be determined, tonight.

I am still waiting for my A Bento to arrive from Netflix. I think it's a kickbox one, but I can't remember. I am excited to try it.

Kate, I believe that I am offically over the hump as well (thank God!). I have had no nausea this week, and my appetite has been out of control.

I ordered some ankle length maternity pants from Gap online, and I really, really like them. They are so comfortable, and they fit nice. What a change from the tight pants I have been wearing (not maternity pants-just bigger size pants).

I have my next dr. appt this Monday afternoon, so I just have to remember to pee in the cup first thing in the morning. Then, I will have to remember to keep it in the school nurse's fridge till it's time to leave:) .

My DH and I are having the worst time thinking of a boy's name. Every one has boys in his family, so we should be prepared with a name. Every name we think of and agree on, is already taken by a close friend's child or a family member. Any suggestions for strong boy's names?
I love Nicholas (but my 2nd cousin is named that-I hardly ever see him, so does that matter?)
We love Alex (1st cousin naming her baby that, and 2nd cousin is named that), Jacob (too close to "Jack" my BIL's baby, and they have already staked clain to Jacob for their next one).

Not much else here, but I had a good time reading all of your posts.

Kristan-I like your organizing plan. I should do that too! Just something little each day.
Anne-I am so happy for you!!!

-Jen

Jen, Sorry about Kitty! Yuck! Hope the party goes well! Wish DS a big happy birthday from Catheland! Hope you had a good WO tonight. I did! Isn't it nice to have clothes that FIT?! I ordered a "40-week" skirt from 2chix. It is so comfy and wonderful. My top 2 picks for boy names are Jackson (which DH vetoed) and Gavin. I might be able to talk him into Gavin. He really wants Joshua. Too common for me. I vetoed it. Hope nobody drinks your "apple juice" next week at school! LOL!

Morning & Happy Weekend!

I have 2 birthday parties today. Thankfully keeping busy helps keep the nausea away. But I seem to be past the worst anyway. Hurray! I never thought this day would come!

Have a good one!

Kate, I laughed when I went to 2chix.com last week. I want to get the Pregzilla shirt, but it's sold out. I haven't checked back yet. A lot of them made me laugh (like, Does this baby make my butt look big?). They were cute.

I caved and ordered that Famous Dave's self tan lotion that everyone is raving about on the open discussions. I am fair, and usually put self-tanner on every summer. This stuff got great reviews, so I will have to report back when I try it.

I am off to call the vet!

-Jen

2 b-day parties?? busy family! i would have a terrible time with the cake:p

jen, kbx is fun!!! better prepreg than pregnant, though;-)

kristan, i did the leg work from apx that is on hi lox on monday - it was great.

well, i slept in this morning until 6:30, so i will workout at nap time. hoping to do imax 2 intervals, and 4ds bootcamp or kick box. have a great day everyone

i am officially tired! i did imax 2 intervals, 4ds boot comp and kb. had a rough morning with ds - he had 2 big tantrums! they last so long too. i am not sure what to do differently to help him thru them. i feel so bad for him. anyways, the workout really helped my stress level. now i need food and a nap.

Jen, Let us knwo how the tanner goes. I ordered a tee too and I love it. I wore it today. Mine says "whats kickin'" w/ baby footprints above it. I have a coupon code for 15% off. I ordred it from the clearance/"damaged" section. I can't find ANYTHING wrong with it. I'm going to order all of the sayings I like. Can you imagine getting a "who's your daddy?" t-shirt!!! Oh my! The tees are so comfy and soft, snug (in a good way) and stretchy. Warning though - my upper body is not terribly big (most people comment on how "tiny" I am!LOL!) and this shirt fits just right. I don't think their one size fits most would actually fit most.

Morris, What a WO!!! Was DS napping? NOt sure what to do about the tantrums. My only guess would be sleep schedules, but it sounds like he does pretty well with that.

Our day went well. Busy for sure though. Tomorrow will be another busy one. Here we go again!!!

Hi everyone--

Feeling end of the day tired in a big way, but I forgot to take my prenatals, so maybe that explains some of it. I'd planned to do a lot of cooking for the next week, but then my new Amy Bentos came and I had to preview and then two books I'm planning to use to help my son cross train for wrestling came from Amazon, so I had to preview those, and then, since our tax money came, my husband said, Let's go look at home school stuff for next year, and of course I never pass up that opportunity, then I had to come home and preview all of that, so while I'm aware that this is a run-on sentence, that was my day: previewing new stuff. Nothing else got done and now I'm too tired to do anything, so here I am on the computer whilst the kiddos do their chores. I will cook up the ground turkey so that it does not go bad and try to lay out church clothes for tomorrow.

The next two weeks are spring break for us and our home desperately needs it.

Kate--I think a "who's your daddy shirt?" is kind of funny (but I'm a little warped), but I would never, ever wear one. I'm growing out of medium tops. That's how much I'm popping. I doubt those 40 week shirts would fit me. Think about this, when I do barbell curls at the end of pregnancy, the barbell brushes my belly on the lower half of the movement, so even though I'm already big, I've got a good 5-6 inches left to go outward. I wish I could post pictures. It would make you all feel so tiny and petite.

Lisa--do you have other children? I can't remember. I hope you feel better soon. Every day is one day closer to the 2nd trimester (not that that really helps in the midst of utter nausea)

Morris--how did the visit go with your dad? I'm sorry about the tantrums. I don't have any real good advice. Sometimes I just put our 2 year old in a safe place and shut the door until she wears herself out. Our 5th child was particularly bad and was also very late in speaking. I found that sign language helped a bit. Signing Time dvds are wonderful for learning basic sign language in a kid friendly way (and are tolerable for adults too), but maybe your son is verbal and that is not his problem.

Kristan--I'm really up in the air about names. We are studying the American Revolution right now and I am really enjoying it, so I like the name Liberty, but my husband gave an emphatic no and I agree it probably is a bit much, but we do have to find something unusual because our last name is so totally common. I like Marin (accent on the first syllable which would be pronounced like Mar in Mary). I also like Eowyn, but that seems so Lord of the Rings-ish, so it probably won't be that. Anyway, I'm leaning Celtic/Anglo-saxon--I'll have to go look on some of those websites.

Jen--as a fellow struggler with names, I sympathize. There are lots of strong male names in the baby name books it seems, but I suppose it's hard to find one that's not taken if lots of people close to you are having are having babies. I wouldn't be much help as we like rather unusual names, but I'm sure you will come up with something. You've lots of time to decide.

Morbidly funny naming story for you all: when we were pregnant with our first, we wanted to name him Gabriel, but that was our dog's name. We obviously couldn't name him after the dog and had another name picked out. Then the dog died unexpectedly, which freed up the name, so our first son is named Gabriel.

This is a long post. Am I stalling? Yes, I hear chaos upstairs and I just want my husband to handle it.}(

Take care all
Maggie

Maggie - I have a 8-year old son and a just turned 6-year old daughter. Yesterday was her bday. LOL about the Gabriel story.

Kate - I went to look for more "comfy" clothes today at Old Navy and everything was sold out. I ended up with a pair of sweats and shorts and that's it. I refuse to buy maternity clothes yet. Although my belly and hips have expanded quite a bit. I just want tops to wear. I'm still in weight gain denial despite this being my 4th pg.

Morris - Wow, what a workout! You deserve a break and food! I feel so yucky not being able to workout as much, but I've been squeezing in at least 3 workouts a week. Not very fulfilling being I'm working out through feeling nauseaus. The 2-year old stage is the hardest IMO. It does get better as they get older though.

Jen - Are you showing yet? You're hitting your 2nd trimester really soon also right?

I had a full day today also and now I'm not feeling so hot. I can manage, but my mom gave us leftover food to bring home and the smell of it is not helping me feel better. The worst of it seems to be over, but I cannot wait for the 2nd trimester so I can be free of it completely, I hope. I have my u/s this Thursday afternoon so I'll be very anxious this week. Any prayers and positive vibes for good news at my u/s will be so appreciated! We should definitely see a hb by now and I'm thinking the bean will look more like a baby since I'll be 9.5 weeks on Thursday. I guess I'll also be finding out how many are in there. Anyway, I gotta get some work done from home. I'm totally stalling. Can you tell?

Lisa

Lisa- I hope your ultrasound goes well.

Kate- I have only bought a couple of things for this pregnancy and that will be it. I didn't have much cool weather stuff because my other kids were all fall babies and we have Indian summers around here. My summer stuff is pretty cute; I am excited to get it out if it would EVER warm up. Speaking of plumbing, I wish my husband had some skills like that. He is a graphic artist, so he is really good at invitations, computers, home internet, paint colors, etc.

Maggie- LOVE Marin. ALso love Marit, which is the Swedish form of Mary. It has a nice virtue ring to it, like merit. Speaking of virtue names, Honor/Honora has always been one of my favorite names. I am a name geek. We are likely going with Magdalena with my maiden name in the middle.

No work out for me today (MAYBE SJP step only). I did my swim yesterday and then we spread 2 yards of compost in the garden (I use it in lieu of mulch- I like that it's rich and black looking). I am SORE. Cathe should introduce an exercise called the compost sweeper where you stand on a pile of compost and sweep it on your shovel with your leg.

I cannot believe I am coming up on the third trimester. TIme is flying.

kristan, i feel like this pregnancy is taking forever!! funny how different it is for everyone. and i love the name magdalena, also marit. was it you who also mantioned alex? that is my top boys name, but dh vetoed it. he likes jack and liam. i am not sure about either of those. i like alex and declan. i am jealous of your yard work. we got several more inches of snow on friday, so our yard is still white:(

hope this finds everyone well. i slept in again today but did amy's hi lo dome and gs bsb during nap time. hoping to go for a chilly walk here soon....
