TTC/Preggers Check-In Feb. 24

Hey Lisa! Hope you're doing good today!

Morris, I hate workout guilt! Why do we feel guilty for keeping healthy?? No worries on TWO bites of cake! Today my OB fed me a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie!! hah! I wonder about the ab work too...

Kristan, Funny on the OB!!

Well, I had my 1st official OB appt today!!
My favorite NP is leaving!!! I am beyond sad. I could care less about the OBs. SHE is the reason I keep going to that practice. HUGE bummer. I will miss her like crazy.
She did a pelvic exam and said my uterus is growing! YAY!
Had my bloodwork, etc done.

Feeling a little better today. Hope you all are doing good!

kate, sorry to hear about your np. when does she leave? glad you are feeling good.

well, i got over my workout guilt and got in a long run and plb. now, i am going to crawl into bed and call it a day....

Man! I am feeling so GREAT right now! BUt its 930 and too late to start a WO. Bummer. Hope I'm doing good tomorrow.

My np leaves in 2 weeks so today is the last day I see her. ;( ;(

Glad you got a good WO in, Morris. Wish I could say the same. Hopefully I'll be doing good tomorrow. Would love to do PUB *and* PLB. We'll see.

Kristan - I caught the show and you have a beautiful family and a beautiful home!!!

Morris - I'm glad you got your wo in. You do need "me" time. I think it's impt. I did 4DS kickboxing since I missed it the other day.

Kate - Sorry about your NP leaving. Glad to hear you're feeling better today.

I'm feeling really gross right now. I spoke too soon about feeling great. This pg feels just like the one I had with my son. I never had major morning sickness, but at night I would feel yucky. Not super nauseated, but just yucky. Hoping to still get a workout in tonight. We'll see.

Lisa

Oh LIsa!! I'm so sorry!!

I am feeling super yucky right now too. I wish I could crawl back in bed and do nothing today but we have such a busy day I need to get going.

Yesterday I felt pretty good. I had ate a banana in bed defore I got up so I tried that agaon today. Maybe it will work. Hurry up 2nd trimester!!!

kate, my ds 1 loved it when i ate banannas early in am during 1st trimester. that, and a bowl of cereal before bed. this baby is not as picky. good luck with yur workout. talk about bady exhaustion doing pub and plb - let us know.

lisa, are you at all glad you feel so yucky? i felt that way for the 1st 2 weeks after i found out - seemed like every minute was confirmation of pregnancy:) i do hope it passes soon. were you sicker with ds or dd?

kristan, i could not stay up to watch you on tv - i am so bummed. how are things?

well, i did get up early to do kbing - used my new weighted gloves, and i bet i am sore tomorrow. ds woke 45 min before he normally does. i let dh handle it (nothing to do really - ds was just chatting away in his bed). needless to say, i got a lot of dirty looks this morning.... what is up with men??? i'll bbl

Morris,
Funny you had the same banana thing. You're right about feeling yucky - it IS confirmation things are progressing. Anyone I've ever talked to that did NOT feel sick lost the baby. Glad you got a WO...even if DH isn't!! Why do they have to be such stinkers??!

I've had a pretty good day today. We were at DDs friend's house at lunch and nothing sounded good then. We drove by a Burger King on the way home and I NEEDED a plain cheeseburger. I haven't had one in FOREVER. It was so good!

Need to go get dinner moving...have a good evening!

Morris - The males in your life need you and your attention!! I never really dealt with nausea too much with any of my pgs, but just a yucky, blah feeling. With ds, once I stopped taking my prenatal vitamins, I felt great. My prenatals would make me sick, sick, sick. I'm pretty lucky when it comes to morning sickness because it doesn't plague me. I do have some "rough" moments, but nothing I can't push through.

Kate - Today has been better so far. I had a few yucky moments in the morning, but I was able to get past it. Hope it lasts through the night since the evenings is what gets me. Did the banana do the trick for you again?

I went to the ob today to confirm my pg and my next appt. on March 20 should include an u/s. Please keep me and my pg in your prayers because I can start to feel anxious because of my last pg ending in a miscarriage. I do feel a lot more positive about this one, but I have my worrying moments. I'm not sure what workout to do tonight. We'll see.

Lisa

Lisa, That's too bad your VITAMINS made you sick! The first ones I ever took w/ DD1 made me incredibly constipated! Got off those REAL quick! The banana did seem to work again today. good! Glad your ob appt went well. It'll be nice to "see" your little one next month. I think we'll get an u/s in May. Sorry about the miscarriage worries. We thought we lost Gina and it ended up being okay. Hope this all goes well.

I GOT TO WORKOUT TONIGHT!!! I felt pretty energetic so I did Cardio & Weights. Feeling very good now. Hopefully it continues. Would like to do some heavy weight leg workout tomorrow.

Sleep tight!

i have not done c and w in so long, i may have to pull it out this weekend.

kate, i am so glad the banannas are working. you will have a little monkey on your hands just like me! to this day, finn love banannas - has one every day. go figure!

lisa, glad you are feeling okay and can push thru. i never had issues with my vitamins, just everything else! my prayers will be with you, but that us is just around the corner. if it isn't too personal or hurtful, can you tell me how far along you were last time?

i felt so awful after work yesterday, and i am back for another long day today and tomorrow. i need a break! oh well. i did a long run this morning, so at lest that is off my plate. hopefully today will go batter than i think.

kristan, jen, how are you guys feeling?

anne, how are things? when is dh's surgery?

Morris, C&W is lots of fun. Hope work goes well. You work Saturday too? Yuck. Glad you got your run in.

I am feeling pretty good today! Maybe I've gotten thru the worst of it. Hoping to do legs tonight but I'm already pretty tired so we'll see.

Since my NP is gone I'm thinking of switching docs. I've had such awesome deliveries. Thinking about using a midwife at a birthing center kind of near us. I have a lot more research to do. Scary to change offices. The 2 obs in my office are new, all the old ones are gone. And for delivery they rotate with another office. I had that with DD1 and fortunately I like the delivery doc but i'm really interested in the birthing center.

Have a great day

kate, hope you can get a nap in and have the energy to workout. out of curiosity, how many times a week do you work a body part? or do you just do what you feel like? hope you get the info you want about the birthing center. it sounds interesting.

Hey all,
DH had his shoulder surgery yesterday and all went well. He's not in much pain yet, so that's really good. We're both having some sleepless nights lately, not sure why.

My temps are up there this month, but nothing great to speak about. I doubt it's my month again, but I'm used to it by now. Hoping DH surgery in 2 weeks will get his count up where it needs to be.

Lisa - Sorry you're feeling sick in the evenings, but hopefully it will pass soon. I'm sure it's all worth going through in the end!

Morris - Nice run girl! I can't believe you're still running, nice job!

HI Kate, Autumn, and anyone else I missed!

Going to see if I can get a quick run in today, seems to be a balmy 30-40 degrees out today in Iowa! Lot's of melting snow.

Morris, I did just wake up from a good rest. I don't think I fell asleep but I feel better. Regarding rotations I generally follow Cathe's. Usually hit each muscle group 1-2x/week. My muscles respond best to 2x/week. Cardio is usually 2-3x/week. It was going great til, well, you know!

Anne, Glad shoulder surg. went well. Hopefully it continues.
Hope your temps do what you want them to! I used to drive myself and DH crazy with charting. Funny coment on your Iowa weather. My good friend lives out there and it sounds like its been miserable.

More carbs for me today! Pizza for lunch. It was delicious. At least it had veggies on it. :)

Hi Girls,
I am here. This is the first time I even checked e-mail or this forum all week! I had two projects to finish for my grad class that was last night. Now, my next class won't begin until...next week. they are 8 week courses, so they are condensed. I am going for my reading spec. cert. to give me more options as a teacher in the future. This program actually takes place at the high school, right across the parking lot from where I teach. You can't get more convenient than that!

I have read through most of the posts, and it looks like everyone is doing well, except for some of you "feeling yucky". I am right there with you! I have my OB appt. this Monday after work, so I will let you all know how it goes.

It is about 8:30p.m., and I just put my DS to bed, so I am going to eat some homemade shrimp and kale soup and snuggle with DH while watching Lost episodes (I can't get enough)!

I did 3 workouts this week (P90 legs, 4-Day Split Bootcamp-the entire thing plus weights, Turbo Jam Cardio Party). I don't really like the Cathe 4-Day Split because of all the equipment and the hard to get step moves, so I am going to put it on ebay this weekend. I will take that money and buy some amy bento's.

Take care!
-Jen

Anne - Hi!! Poor DH going through all these surgeries! I really hope the surgery in a couple weeks will be what it takes to get you pg if you aren't already. How long before you guys can bd after the surgery?

Morris - You can ask me any qxs about it, I don't mind. I was 11 weeks along when they discovered I had a missed miscarriage. The baby stopped developing, but my body didn't get rid of it. I was spotting throughout that whole pg so I knew something wasn't right, but I didn't get it confirmed until way later in the 1st trimester. I eventually miscarried at 12-13 weeks and it was an awful experience. I couldn't stop bleeding so I had to go to the ER and by week 13-14, it was all done. Are you planning on having any more kids after this one?

Kate - I haven't done C&W in ages either. It is fun though. I hope you're able to find an ob or midwife that you like.

Jen - Keep us updated after your ob appt! You sound like you're keeping busy.

I think we have another bird in our attic. I can hear it and it's soo annoying. I'm feeling pretty good tonight. I did B&G last night and in the middle of my workout someone started making a grilled cheese sandwich. The smell made me gag! I'm trying to figure out what to do tonight. My back is killing me for some reason so I might lay low for tonight and hopefully get in some kind of cardio tomorrow.

Lisa

Jen, Busy lady!! Sorry you don't like 4DS split. I love it. We have a lot of equipment though so that wasn't an issue. Did you preorder STS? I think the equip. on that is scaring a lot of people off. I can't wait for it. Sounds like it will be a while though. Sounds like you and DH had a nice night last night.

Lisa, Funny on the bird! Thankfully we've never had anything in our home that shouldn't be here! DH is a huge insulating nut and I doubt an any could find its way in here!:p
Could you finish B&G after the sandwich or did that ruin it for you? Isn't it crazy how smell-sensitive you get?!

I'm hoping to WO today. Feeling lousy right now. I always make a HUGE breakfast for the fam on Sat AM. I'm in bed with my banana right now and DH is trying (miserably) to get food for DDs. The kitchen is just not his thing, poor guy.

Hope we all do good today. Have a great one!

hey kate, i vote that you stay in bed!! seriously, hope you feel better soon and can get a workout in. may that bananna have magical properties.

lisa, great job with the butts and guts. i need to do that one again this week. i usually do the premixes on it so i may try the original just for old times sake.

jen, sorry you did not like the 4 day split. i don't use it as is but mix it up, either adding on cardio or doing just the weights. i cannot recommend amy enough though. she is fun!

anne, so good to hear from you. hope things are going okay.

maggie, i saw your other posts, but i just wanted to say hi - how are you feeling?

hi kristan - did you get rid of those cookies yet???

it is saturday morning and we are having a huge storm and i am at work. yuck!! the good thing is i woke easily and got a great workout in - i did amy's kbx and some drill max cardio and some abs. i am looking forward to finishing my shift and having a snowy afternoon at home. hopefully the roads won't be too bad. bbl

Kate - I say stay in bed and relax. You'll have your hands full in a few months so take whatever you can right now! I hope the banana helped.

Morris - I'm planning on doing Drill Max today too, but modified if I have to. I'm feeling good most of the time, but bouts of yuckiness come and go. Sorry about the storm. Hope it calms down before you have to drive home.

DD has a soccer game this am then ballet right after. DS has basketball, but thankfully my FIL will take him. Then I have to finalize my taxes so I can hopefully send it out by this weekend. Then I have some work stuff to finish up. I also want to try and clean up around here. Not much excitement going on for me this weekend. Hope everyone else has an enjoyable weekend!

Lisa

Hi everyone!

Sometimes I have a hard time keeping up with all the posts, but I do stop by and read them everyday.:7 I am feeling much better, but still faintly yucky. I'd just like to feel normal again--I can't imagine what that feels like right now.

Kate and whoever else is feeling yucky--our food budget and healthy eating always goes out the window during the first trimester, because I cannot cook. Dh is a pretty good cook, but he works all day and is tired when he comes home, so lots of take out, sandwiches, and breakfast food. I just make them all fend. Hang in there, ladies!

Morris--I cannot imagine so much snow. We get all excited here if it snows and if it sticks around for a day or two, we're all like hunkering down. I shouldn't gripe, but I am so ready for spring!

I got asked 3 times at the mall today when I was due and eyes popped when I said August--I'm that pokey-outey, but I'm used to that response, so it doesn't bother me as much anymore...

I'll post a more complete post tomorrow--

Maggie:)
