TTC/Preggers Check-In 2.17.08

Kristan, we have Penn State Hershey Med center right in my backyard, so I just may check them out. The only problem is the wait to get in sometimes (that's why I had switched from them in the first place). I will see how my first OB visit goes in two weeks, and I will take it from there.

Kate-I just said that my friend is really popping. It is still early in my pregnancy for me to feel comfortable to tell co-workers, so I am glad that I can hide it for that sake for a little while longer. My friend is just about as far along as I am, but she just popped about a week ago. I have no problem with showing (after I have told everyone).:)

kate, i so much admire women who love being pregnant. i love the end result, but i do not care for the body changes and energy level changes and hormones. if i could safely deliver now i would! i am not at all ungrateful to be pregnant - i would gladly go thru 20 onths of this to have a little baby. but i don't like most of the time. does that make sense? i defiantely could not wear maternity dresses either. my varicose veins are gross! hope this day finds you feeling better.

jen, what a dilema you are in! i think kristan is right on the money - 2nd and 3rd opinions are great. you never truly know what situation you will be in. my friend just had a scheduled c section (had section with dd#1 too) and they said her uterus was so thin and friable she would have ruptured if she tried a vbac. then you think about kristan's situation, and a vbac may be better. bottom line is you must have enough faith in your docs to know that you may need to change plans later. hope you enjoyed turbo jam and are feeling good.

maggie, i feel like a new woman after getting my hair done. i always tell myself i won't wait that long the next time..... hope you are feeling b etter occasionally.

kristan, how are things? any decisions on a dr? i can't wait to see your house on hgtv - keep us posted.

lisa, i loovvveee thai food. i have really been craving sushi lately though, for breakfast. i may get some tonight to have for tomorrow.....

well, another day at work, then i have a dr appt later. i got up early and got in a long run, despite my desire to stay in bed. i was kind of hoping to do leaner legs later, but i probably will not have time - we will see. i did get my weighted gloves yesterday, so it will be kickboxing for me tomorrow. dh is supposed to be back late tonight, fingers crossed. i really need some help around the house, plus, i just miss him!! i'll bbl

Jenn, We always say we're going to wait to tell people but we get so excited we just tell everybody right away! But we don't have work issues to deal with - that would definetly make a difference.

Morris, I'm sure your legs aren't GROSS!!! I love dresses and skirts - so comfy! What you wrote does make sense - I know a lot of women feel that way. If it weren't for the emotional attachment I would be a full-time surrogate!

I'm feeling quite a bit better now. Getting some housework done - strange as it sounds, that helps me feel better. I can't stand clutter. DH tried hard though.

Hope you all have a good day!

WOw! I hit rock bottom when I was making lunch for me & DDs.
Felt so nauseous when I was eating but I choked it down for Baby's sake.

Took a quick powernap - felt much better afterward.
Now I'm getting the gross queasy feeling again.

I'm afraid this is a preg thing and not a sick thing.
Oh well - the bad with the good, right?!

Hi, This is just a quick post. I did Turbo Jam lastnight, and I felt fine. Just a tad bit of spotting since yesterday. I am still waiting to get blood results back. My pants are getting tight, so I can't wait to change. I have some homework to catch up on for tomorrow's class, so I won't be exercising tonight, but maybe tomorrow.
MOrris- I am also sure your legs aren't gross.
Kate-I am like that with food. It comes and goes. I find I am more turned off of food when I am hungry, as strange as that sounds.

I'm off!
-Jen

Jen,

That is EXACTLY how I feel! I don't want to eat when I'm not technically hungry (don't want to balloon up too soon!) so I wait til I'm even a little bit hungry then get nauseous. I know I'm getting plenty of good nutrition so I'll just be thankful that this is keeping my weight maintained!

YAY! Tight pants! You're about 6 weeks along right? I wanna show too!!

Enjoy your rest time - your baby is thanking you!

I didn't workout to day either. I did Classical Stretch, but I don't really count that as a WO - it just plain feels WONDERFUL!!!

Good morning & Happy Thursday!! Almost the weekend!

I slept pretty well last night so hopefully I'll be feeling better today. Planning on a total body weight workout. DH & I are going out of town by ourselves this weekend - a first for us since we've had kids!! We're SO EXCITED!! I'll only be able to do cardio while we're gone so I'll be focusing on weights today. Looking forward to it. I haven't worked in 2 days and my body is achin' to get back to it!

Have a great day!

hi everyone

kate, what weight work are you doing today? i am jealous of your weekend away. that sounds heavenly right now, but, it would mean i'd have to leave ds. not ready yet. funny, though, i think i could imagine it with one of his current teachers. i am not yet comfortable with the idea of grandparents. have agreat time.

jen, hope you get test results soon.

i used my weighted gloves and did kpc and cardio only from bootcamp this am. the gloves are great! my legs felt rough as i did manage to squeeze in meaner legs yesterday. i am going to go back to 4ds next week for a few weeks. any one have amy's slo mo weight work?

Hi Morris!

I did MM timesaver premix. Wish I'd had more time for the whole thing, but oh well. It's not like I'm gonna get ripped in the next 8 months anyways!:+ How old is DS? My girls are almost 6 and almost 4. It's taken us this long to go away. DH's parents are going to have them. They are good people and I trust them but I KNOW they won't even kind of respect bedtime and the younger one needs a nap and they won't make allotment for it. I have to get over it though. Is it worth some time away? YES! Yeah, right. Ask me my answer to that question on Sunday night when I'm getting the kids ready for bed!:+

I really would like some weighted gloves too. I have 1 lb. wrist weights but I think those aren't good for KB. 4DS is sounding great too!

I don't have slomo but I knwo a lot of people like it.

Hi! I just got home from class, so this is quick! My blood test results came back fine. Whatever levels they were checking were over 17,000 (they said that's good). I spotted a little tan this morning, other than that, nothing. I'm off to finish some housework and go to bed. We are supposed to get hit with a storm tonight (in PA).

Jen, YAY! on the bloodwork! Happy dance!
Do you want a storm? We always do a snow dance so we at least get a 2-hour delay. Which cancels AM Kindergarten - woohoo!!!

I'm doing great this afternoon and evening. Very little nausea! Hopefully its past and was just an illness thing. I really really want to feel great, healthy, fit this pregnancy.

Jen--glad your bloodwork came back with good news. That's good news!
I hate it when the clothes get tight, but I'm not showing yet--just looks like I'm gaining weight. At only 14 weeks, I have a nice belly now--kind of embarrassing, but at least I look pregnant and not just chubby.

Morris--I'm with you. I love the end result of pregnancy, but I don't enjoy the process at all--nausea, weight gain, can't breath, heart pounding, hot feet (yes, my feet become unbearably hot, to the point where I have constructed "ice mittens" for them)....but in the end it's all worth it.

Kate--enjoy your weekend away. We've been married almost 15 years and haven't had one yet--just life! But it sounds really nice. Glad to hear you are feeling better. I'd love a pregnancy without morning sickness.

Hello everyone else!

Maggie:)
14 weeks, 2 days

Hi everyone! So much to catch up on! I haven't had much time on the computer because I've been doing my taxes when I'm at home after everything in the house has settled. Finally got it done correctly and now I just have to type it up on the computer, sign, and submit. I've been jogging the last 2 days and I was hoping to do some weights tonight, but I'm pooped. You guys have sure been busy! I'll catch up with personals a little later. Just wanted to drop in and say hello! I have another 6 days before AF shows or it's test time.

Lisa

Maggie, Are you wearing maternity clothes? LOL on the ice mittens! I love that you have your exact time of bring preg. on your signature. I always forget. I never remember anyone's duedate but my own. My SIL just had a baby and I was always so embarrassed when I was asked her DD and couldn't remember!

Lisa, Not sure what AF is but good luck!!!

I am feeling slightly nauseous this morning. I wish I could just puke and get it overwith. Does that make sense?

Lots to do this AM to get ready to go!!!!! - bbl....

good morning everyone, and happy friday!

lisa, you reminded me we have to get moving on our taxes - yuck! are you still temping everyday? i am really hoping af stays away. are you enjoying your jogs? i miss being outside, but i know my body could not take it now. as it is, i always think i will stop at mile 2, but by the time i get to 3.5, i feel like going further.

hi maggie - i now just what you mean about looking fat, not pregnant. i think i still look that way:( i have a long torso, so i don't get a noticable bump but more of an ever encroaching spread....

kate, i hope the nausea leaves you soon. may i recommend the sea bands? not perfect, but i do think they take the edge off.

jen, so glad about the blood results - fantastic! my doc said not to worry as much about the brown or tan blood - red was not so good.

well, dh is home, thankfully. now, he has to work all weekend. i really need some time to do some shopping, but it will have to wait. i am pleased i got up this morning and got a good run in - 9.3miles, and i would have kept going for 10 except i had to get ready for work. i need to sneak in a bit of bi and tri work, but we will see. i am having some tough body issues right now, and am frustrated with myself. pregnancy is about the baby to come, not me, and i don't like it when i feel my focus traveling inwards. it isn't healthy or smart, and i know that. i just think i may be a bit down lately, and it is manifesting in body image. hard, b/c there is nothing i can do about the body part. i am fit and healthy. i am eating too many snacks, esp processed things. i don't know what if anything to do, but i thought i'd share as you guys are all so supportive.

anyways, have a good day everyone!

Hi! Snow Day (yeah!). I feel so much better about my pg after the bloodtest results! I was just checking out maternity clothes on ebay. I am still in the running for a few things, but some others just got way too expensive so I backed away from those. My sister should have some clothes for me since she had both her girls in Oct-Nov.

Lisa-I am crossing my fingers for you! Nice to hear from you.

Kate-You must be exactly as far along as I am. I went through the nausea a lot last week. This week was better. I hope you feel better soon. That is not fun to feel that that! I never threw up with either pregnancy, but I sure felt like I was going to. I am craving Combos now, though:) .

I have not exercised since early in the week. I defintely feel better about things now, so I plan to do a weight workout today (for legs-they feel so jiggly now). I did have to pull out my "big girl pants"(the ones I wore after I had my son) yesterday. I have a few pairs, so they should hold me over a few more weeks.

Hi Morris! Hi Autumn! Hi Anne! Hi Melanie! Hi Maggie!

-Jen

Morris, I've never used sea bands before or even seen them actually.
Don't worry about your body! It IS changing but it WILL go back, maybe even better than before! Personally, I can't wait to do STS post-baby. You had a great run today. Maybe now that DH is home things will start looking up for you. My DH used to travel and I hated it. Thanskfully he's home with us all the time now. Keep your chin up - it's just hormones talkin' to ya anyway!:+

Jen, Glad you got a snow day - we love 'em! Have fun maternity shopping! Hope you get some loaners too! I'm so jealous you're starting to show!!! I want my belly to pop out too! Maybe it'll happen overnight. I doubt it though. I have a feeling I won't show for a while.
Combos?? Oh man! I haven't had those in YEARS!!

We are on our way up north! YAY! DH is making good time - hope he doesn't get a ticket. }(

Have a great afternoon!

Morris, hang in there. I think it's perfectly normal to feel that way at some point durind your pregnancy. I was thinking the same thing today. I mean...Combos??? I am not that big, but I feel HUGE. I have not exercised since the beg of the week, and I was thinking of what a huge exerciser I used to be before having my son (almost 3 years ago). I have to really focus hard to exercise even 3-4 times a week. You do such awesome workouts! I am with Kate...I can wait to get my hands on STS post baby! Are you going to get it? I am going to go have a combo;) .

Kate - Lol, AF is Aunt Flo as in our monthly friend!

Morris - I'm sure you look awesome and fabulous! I do understand how you feel though because every pg woman goes through it I'm sure. I know I did. There were moments I loved it and moments I was like oh, yuck. I'm still temping. Read below for more news.

Jen - Tell us how you like STS. I'm holding off for now.

I went to my consult today for my lip. I'm getting the spot removed in 2 weeks. A quick in-office procedure. The dr. wasn't concerned, but said because I have issues with bad chapped lips, he suggests removing it. My temp spiked up this a.m. more than ever before. I have 4 more days until I will test, but I hope that today's temp is a good sign. Keep your fingers crossed and any prayers would be so aprreciated!!

Lisa
