Melanie, You crack me up!

And I totally agree about Maggie! Forget Mom of the Year, She gets Mom of a Lifetime Award.

Hey guys, just checking in again before I close down the computer. Man has it been a moody afternoon for me. I've been trying to do the layout for my church newsletter, and the boys have been crazy. DH just took oldest DS swimming, so it's just me and Henry now (whew). I feel so guilty for spending so much time today on work and not play. If they could just turn guilt into renewable energy, all of us mommies could light the world, I bet. Ah, well, tomorrow is another day.
BTW: I can smell all of those muffins baking from here!! God bless Mel for that recipe!! I love the all-wheat flour (and it keeps DH out of them :)), but I agree on the real brown sugar. I'll try the fake stuff post-partum. The pumpkin substituted for the oil was really good too, but I love pumpkin.

Well, better go work out now. I ate two of the aforementioned muffins today and must go work them off!! Take care guys and have a lovely evening!! :)

Hi everyone,
I think that I am ready for Disneyworld, I hope I don't get there and find out that i left my underwear at home. Maggie, I didn't know you had a son with Downs. You are such a wonderful mother by all the posts I have read and he is so lucky to have such a neat family.
trish-I am 5"3 and 1/2 and if I look at carbs they go right to my thighs. totally unfair. I wish I had words of wisdom about DH and the military, I understand your anxiety. Hang in there.
Melanie-glad you are better today. How did the showing go?
Candra-We are going to DisneyWorld. I bet your kids love being that close to disneyland. How did the soup turn out?
Stephanie-Hope tomorrow is less emotional. that is so draining. did you finish your newletter?
Kate-hope your little indians settle down (or go to bed soon)

Stephanie, I made the soup and I ate two bowls of it. It is so delicious. I made zucchini bread with the left over zucchini. I really need to stop baking b/c I keep eating and eating:eek:

Mikkia, I forgot to comment about small town living and everyone knowing your secret....I totally can see your reservation. We live in a town of 1200, but we just moved here last August,...so most people could care less if I was pg or not.

I"m hoping DH will be more supportive. He has been going to bed when I get home from work at 8pm. At 10pm when kids are still up I've been waking him up and telling him to take care of them/get them to bed that I need my sleep. I'm just plain exhausted & I need so much more sleep right now. I told them that I'd like to stay in a hotel next week, as I"m working 60hrs & driving about 15 hours. He thinks that's a stupid idea. I just can't do it.

We haven't heard about the showing yet. We have 2 more scheduled this week though, so that's good. It doesn't look like our guy mowed our lawn yet, and that is irritating!

Gotta run,
Chat again tomorrow. :)

Hi everyone--thanks for your kind words regarding Malcolm. He had unusual problems with sucking--many downs babies have some, but not to the extent that he did. He is very verbally delayed and I think that being unable to suck as an infant has a lot to do with it. Sucking is very important for babies because it prepares the muscles for speech. I did not know this before I had him.

Life would be easier without Malcolm, there is no doubt, but it would not be better, if that makes sense...I can't imagine our family without him.

Ya'll don't even want to know what I'm snacking on right not--it ain't healthy muffins or minestrone and that's for sure:9 :9 :9.

See you tomorrow--I'm off to do some Spanish while everyone is occupied....

Maggie:)
