TTC/ Post M/c Support Week of 2/8/09

Susan ~ I remember my pregnancy after the m/c - you are perfectly normal or we are both abnormal. :) I worried the whole pregnancy - being a nurse was not advantageous - especially with my specialy Women's Health and having worked on a bereavement team in perinatal loss.

Wendy ~ I'm keeping my fingers crossed and prayers for you.

Melanie ~ ((((((((HUGS)))))))). I'll miss you here Mel, but I'll see you on FB???? I am on and off of there.

Priscilla ~ I LOVE my kbs. My body really likes kb workouts. I have a few workouts. KBYW 1 & 2, Iron Cores, Lauren Brooks, AOS Newport & Firepower, & Goddess Workout from Dragon Door. KBYW and Lauren Brooks are the ones I'm reaching for these days.

Sweetpea ~ MMMMM.... cake! It must be snack time for me. :p Is your grandpa still doing better?

I hope I didn't miss anyone.

I am being a lazy charter...... and I am a (or an) NFP teacher.:D I am not using the CBFM or checking my mucus....just using my libido as the only indicator. So unscientific but I'm much more relaxed and ummm... enjoying myself much more.

Well, of to find a snack. Toodles!

Melanie-((Hugs)) We will miss you! Enjoy yourself and relax!

Wendy- I am keepin my fingers and toes crossed for you! I always say "A line is a line" Good luck!

Priscilla- Isn't TCOYF so informative? I've never learned so much about my body. The longer I chart the more I learn. And now I started checking CP on a regular basis so I've learned a ton!

Bethany- I hope you start your "period" sooner rather than later!

Autumn- The KB workouts that you posted about...are they pretty tough? I like to sweat and work hard and I love KB workouts also. I try to alternate that and running so I don't cause an overuse injury.

Well, on the TTC front, no O yet but my cervix tells me I am entering my fertile phase so I plan on jumping DH today before he goes to work! ;)

The news on grandpa...there was a family meeting last night and it was decided that as soon as a bed is open at the facility, he is moving to Hospice Comfort. They will take him off all of his meds and just keep him comfortable. I am sad for him but it is what he wants. Thank you for all of your kind thoughts and words.

Jen

Morning!
Wendy-my fingers are crossed for you!
Jen-my fingers are crossed for you too! I know what your going through with your granpa. Its so hard to see someone we love go through this. You and your family are in my thoughts.
I made heart pancakes for the family and I just got done doing LIS..I wanted to do something fast. We are going to Little Rock today to do some shopping.
My nipples are on fire!! It hurts to even wear a bra, but hurts worse not to.
Have a great day girls!

Well, I tested again (for the 6th time:)) this morning and there's no doubt its POSITIVE!!! I am so excited but scared at the same time. I can't imagine how I'll deal with it if this one ends in a miscarriage too. I just hope the baby stays alive until I can get to my MD and start the Lovenox injections then I think I'll feel a bit better.

Jen - It's never easy, to say the least, when someone you love enters hospice but I hope you're comforted knowing that you're honoring him by doing what he wishes.

And Jen - have a great Valentines day, and night, and tomorrow, and tomorrow night,....;)

Melanie - have a great time and would you please walk around carrying a big sign at Disney saying "CATHE FAN" so I can say hi if I see you?

Priscilla - ITA - TCOYF is probably the best book on women's reproductive health. Ok- I haven't read other books on the subject but I still think this one is probably at the top of the list:)

Autumn - I just noticed your signature line and I'm going to add it to my journal of inspirational quotes. I should actually paint it on my bedroom wall!

Susan - how are you feeling?

Bethany - Hope you get your AF soon.

Wendy..yayyyyyyy. Im so very happy for you!! Can you explain your condition for me? Im not familiar with that. We are in similar situations so we can just worry together!! I go to the dr on the 26 and I will feel better if we see a heartbeat.
Congrats!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! (the woo hoo is in my best Vickie from the Real Housewives for those who watch it :D) Wendy, that is just such an awesome Valentine's day gift!!! I am super excited and keeping you in my prayers. Can you call your MD today? :) One of my colleagues and friends from the college has a daughter with MTHFR. She had multiple miscarriages but did have 3 children before she was properly diagnosed. Anyway, she carried her 4th pregnancy without any complications after her dx and appropriate tx. I think I need to have that quote all over my house. :) Oh,and I need to correct the spelling error.

Susan ~ ROTFLMBO at your "nipples on fire comment". Have fun shopping!!

Sweetpea ~ I find the KB w/os challenging, but you may be in better shape than I. I am using 2 18# kbs when I can and that has made a huge difference in my w/os. Do you have KBYW 2?

Happy Valentine's Day ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats Wendy

Hi everyone,

I think I have done everything I could've done. Now, it's the waiting game!

Melanie, Have fun, enjoy and relax. We'll have you in our thoughs!

Wendy, CONGRATULATIONSSSSSSSSSS, What a wonderful gift, I wanted to check the forum this morning b/c I knew you'll give us that surprise. All the symptoms you mentioned (spotting and faint line) YEAHHHH. I am learning a lot with the book, and trying not to stress out too much. I'll try not to test until next weekend (hopefully)

Jen, I am glad your granpa is doing better and despite of everything, he's surrounded by people that care so much about him

Bethany, Isn't it today the last day you have to take the pills?

Autumn, Is the Empire State kettlebell w/o worth getting?

Susan, how did the shopping go? Hoping to shop too on Monday

I have been eating so much junk food. I'll try to workout today

Later

Thanks everyone. I think I'm still in shock.

I have 2 blood clotting disorders - MTHFR gene mutation and Homogeneous Factor V Leiden. Basically what happens is that my body produces blood clots when it shouldn't (the opposite of hemophilia) which was causing blood clots in the placenta which prevented the baby from getting nutrients, etc. or causing a stroke in the baby. Unfortunately my parents both have the gene (unknowingly) and passed it on to me so I'm homogeneous. This puts my risk of miscarriage (during any trimester) at up to 80x that of a "normal" person. I'm also at higher risk for preeclampsia and intrauterine growth restriction in the baby. The maternal fetal specialist already has me on aspirin but as soon as they see a heartbeat they'll start me on Lovenox shots which I'll take daily until 8 weeks postpartum.

The specialist couldn't explain why I never had problems with DD but he does know that exercise helps blood flow and exercising during pregnancy made a huge difference.

Congratulations Wendy! I am so happy for you!

Just real quick post...I jumped DH so hopefully we will catch that eggie in the next few days! Plus it was a nice start to Valentine's Day.

I've been at the hospital and hospice all day and then my aunt's until just now. I hope we can still get some BDing in between all these visits.

Susan-When I found out I was pregnant my nipples were on fire too. I think that is exactly how I described them to DH. :)

Hi to everyone else! I will catch up more later.

Good morning,

Wendy - what great news - congratulations!!! Now Susan has some company!:D

Melanie - you will sure be missed around here...hope you have a great trip with your family. BTW, what on earth would I be offended about?:p You've been nothing but sweet and supportive to everyone on here!

Jen - I hope your grandpa will find comfort in hospice. And hopefully you're able to catch that egg this month! I'm sure your DH won't mind the trying.;)

Susan - glad to hear you're getting more pregnancy symtoms. I bet you can't wait for your appt on the 26th. We can't wait to hear about how it went!

Oh, my boobs have felt funny the last 2 days, a lot like they did when I was breastfeeding, actually. I don't remember this as a premenstural symptom before, but maybe it is this time.

Autumn, this is probably a really stupid question, but, getting a bleed doesn't mean that I actually ovulated - does it? Enjoy your "libido method", sounds much more relaxed and less tedious than charting!

Priscilla - when is the earliest you could test? I'm betting you're next!

I'll be/have been posting less too bc I've been spending time with my family during the little free time that I've had. I have another follow-up appt with my midwife on March 5th. It stinks to KNOW that I don't really have a chance of getting pregnant right now, but at least I feel like I'm taking steps to become fertile again!

Morning!
WEndy, thanks for explaining your condition. Im sure you'll do just great now that the drs know what they are dealing with.
Jen-I hope dh cathes that egg!!
Bethany-hi! THat "let down" feeling I got while nursing is exactly how I am feeling now. It very well could be the progesterone you are taking. So hopefully af will be there soon and you can get on with your plans.
Hi Atumn, Pricilla

Priscilla ~ I really like the Empire State w/o. Do you like KBYW 1? Here are the exercises on Disc 1 from KBYW 2:
Each round is 3 minutes. Some exercises have the option of using 2 kbells.
Warm up: Mtn. climbers, russian twists, chest presses
R1: Swings, half get-up, suitcase row
R2: Lunge cocktail, side plank, super plank
R3: Squats, bottom windmil, cruch curls
R4: One leg dead lift to a tow, janda sit-up, tricept extension
R5: Overhead lunge, figure 8 to a hold, clean & press
R6: Suitcase deadlift, punch matrix, side snatches
R7: Hand-to-hand sumo deadlifts or Plie to Releve, Pull over to a get-up sit up, hot potatoe
R8: Super burpee, banana rolls, tricep push-up
Disc 2 includes Manmaker, Manmaker 2X, Manmaker 3X, Joint mobility. I don't remember the details of the exercises though.

Wendy ~ I read your post on the Ask Cathe forum about the exercise and blood flow. Just awesome! As you said, just another reason to exercise.

Sweetpea ~ Did you manage to get some Bding in? ;)

Bethany ~ This is a great question. You are correct, a bleed does not indicate ovulation. You may expereince what we call a withdrawal bleed - the kind of bleeding women have with the pill. That said, progesterone can trigger an ovulation.

Hi Susan ~ You snuck in while I was posting. :) So I came back to say "Hi". Susan, you made me giggle when I read your note to Jen - "I hope dh cathes that egg".

Well, we've been enjoying my new fertility monitoring :p. I should be ovulating soon. I had great CM yesterday.

Hope you ladies had a Happy Valentines day and a great rest of the weekend.

Hey everyone! Well, we haven't BD since V day. I am hoping to today but we have so much going on. I had some weird CM this morning and some brown spotting. I was thrilled with the CM but then after doing a 45 min CC run, I had some brown spotting but it wasn't mucus like. I have no idea what to think. The last time something similiar like this happened is the month before my BFP. I'm not so sure this month will be my month. But I guess we will still try. I'm not stressing about it though.

Grandpa is still in hospice and he is comfortable. He doesn't wake up anymore so it will probably be soon. The hospice is wonderful and comforting. He looks so much more comfortable there than at the hospital.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Jen-I had an idea of combining ttc and preggos...and it looks like i have everyone confused. Would you rather keep ttc m/c support together?

Hello

Hi ladies,

Well, today is day 21 on my cycle and CM has dried up.

Melanie, we miss you around here!

Bethany, I promised myself that this time I will only test after day 28, probably next weekend. Let's see if it last!

Jen, how was your CM like and when is your period due? Do You think it may be implantation spotting?
I am looking for all those signs myself. I have never been pregnant before, but in tha last month, I have been so curious and I pay attention to every single detail.

Autumn, I have KYW #1, I like it and have done about 3 times. I got hooked doing Jari Love's videos and kinda forgot about it. Thanks for the breakdown of Empire State.

Wendy, I read your ? regarding STS and pregnancy, I like to know more myself since I cancelled my preorder but want to buy it now. Have you talk to your Dr?

Susan, how are things working for you? For how long you are supposed to use the suppositories?

Great night for everyone

I just have a minute...I had a bit of pink when I just wiped so it looks like AF may be here soon!!! I'll yet you all know when she gets here:) BBL.
