TTC Check-In

sounds like everyone is making progress! melanie, is this your first visit from af since you delivered? lisa, are you doing any temp checking? actually, i don't even know how one does that, but i thought i'd ask.

i had a fantastic run VERY early this am with my dog, and cravings are not too bad today though i have managed to eat a ton of calories - all very nutritious, but lots none the less. today is my long day at work, and i just went to see my little guy at lunch. it is my thursday habit to visit him at lunch. now, though, he is getting to the point wherre he fusses when i leave - makes it so hard. i may hve to reevaluate whether my visiting is best for him.
melanie, do you work full time or part? what about lisa and autumn?

My first AF in about 4 years. I have to tell you, I haven't missed it! I'm so tired, achy, irritable, and have a HA. Growl!!!!

I work 3/4 time. I work 60hrs every 2 weeks: 20 hrs week one and 40 hrs week two, then repeat! My boss went to Disneyworld so I'm working more hours---48 hrs this week. I feel so weak and tired (did I mention irritable?). It's a good thing I'm not ovulating today b/c I don't want to get anywhere near anyone today!!!!! Growl. Have I mentioned that I'm crabby? }( }( }(

<<Autumn - I need to pick your brain about CM. I was on a 34 day cycle last month, the first month off bc pills, and so I figure I would o around CD16/17, but according to my CM I must have o'ed around CD14/15. Sorry if TMI everyone, but I had really watery CM on CD12/13 and then EWCM on CD14/15. So I might end up with a shorter cycle this month? Or is it possible to have a really long luteal phase if I end up going 34 days again? And then after CD15, there was pretty much nothing. I'm confused. >>

It is not uncommon for a woman to have a few anovulatory cycles after discontinuing the pill. In the NFP method I teach, it is not uncommon to see a "variable return to peak type mucus" in women who are post-pill. This just means mucus comes and goes.

If the luteal phase exceeds 16 days, it is possible that ovulation occured a few days later or sometimes a cyst will result in a long post-luteal phase. When I have more time, I'll pm you some info. Just give me a few days. I type slow. :)

I homeschool our DD, teach a couple of independent courses for the community college, and teach the NFP course (1-2 days per week). The NFP hours are 2-5 hours and usually in the evening when DH is home.

Oh, I spun today. :) Yay! I plan on some weight work this evening. I'll let you know how that goes.

Morris - I work full-time for the most part, but on weeks like this when my kids are on spring break I work from home when I can and drop my hrs to part-time. I'm an office manager and my boss is awesome. He allows me to make my own schedule and never gives me a hard time. He's happy as long as the work gets done. When my kids were not in school, I only worked part-time. So if and when I get pg, I'll be working from home and the office.

Autumn - Thanks for the info. Please PM me if you have any more info. I seem to have long cycles the first few months off the pill and then after that they go back to 28-30 days.

Melanie - I know what you mean. I was never one of those "lucky" girls who skipped their monthly friend. I always got it no matter what and didn't miss it while pg and breastfeeding. One of the great benefits of both!

I did my IMAX2 and some pilates this morning. Yay! I need to get couple more fruits/veggies in which I will at dinner.

Haven't we gotten all the attention this week? Ha!

I'm feeling better. I had a HUGE chocolate brownie with rich chocolate frosing about 3 inches thick, and I even swallowed it down with a 12 oz ice cold mountain dew. Comfort food. No workouts. No water. No milk. Only 3 veggie servings today. I just finished watching Greys Anatomy.

Tomorrows another day. A better day...

you guys make me feel so good:) too funny.

hope you are feeling better today, melanie. i remember (distantly) how awful pms is. yuck. always remembering this too shall pass....

i ate well yesterday and the scale was up a lb today! hate that! am i the only one out there whose weight fluctuates by a fewlbs either way? makes me want to eat terribly today for spite!

on a positive note, the weather was amazing this morning - 43 degrees for my run! it felt awesome

MELANIE, I am dr:9 :9lling all over my keyboard reading about your brownie! :7 Brownies are one of my favorite things. I would have chased it with a Pepsi though... fountain Pepsi. There are two convenience markets here that sell "heavy" pepsi. It is gaggy sweet, which I love. I wish I didn't love sweets.

So Mel, do you think Dr. McSteamy is gonna be the new chief? I wonder what will happen to his character when Addsion spins off to LA?

Morris, you are awesome to complete your run early in the day. And yes, the scale thing annoys me too!

Well, no weight work yesterday. It just never happened. Maybe today. I did get my veggies & fruits in yesterday.

Autumn

Just wanted to drop in and say hello before heading out to work!

Wishing everyone a great Friday! Yay!

BTW, I am too addicted to the scale so I've been trying NOT to get on it so often. I used to get on everyday, but that was bad. I'm down to twice a week now.

I'll check-in later!

Ahhh, another Grey's Anatomy watcher? I have no idea who will be cheif...I didn't know Addison was leaving, I adore her! I am upset that George and Izzy slept together though!
Today was better, except for AF is here with a vengence!!! If you're prone to be grossed out, you might want to skip the following:

My flow is outrageous! I got to work today --left for work with a fresh tampon --then I got to work and had a leak IMMEDIATELY --had to work a full shift with soiled panties. :( I've been going through a super tampon every 90 minutes or so. Urgh! No wonder I'm so tired and crabby. I'm wondering if this is what it was like before?...or is this payback for not having AF for four years?

Hoping my flow will slow....................

I hate that George and Izzy slept together. I liked Izzy in the beginning, but now she's starting to annoy me.

I have heavy flows and have to always use a backup pad and a plus size tampon the first two days.

Anyway, I have to go get my kids in bed. I think I might skip out on my workout tonight....we'll see.

Okay, okay I will stop my moaning and groaning. I SHOULD be rejoicing b/c God created me this way...my periods are part of my womanliness---a trade-off for my ability to conceive and have children---which I adore and thank God for daily. Will you guys forgive me for all my whining? ;)

Yep, they are doing a Grey's Anatomy spin off to L.A. The 2-hour season finale will have Addison leaving Seattle and heading to L.A. I really like Addison too. The creators must be following the lead of Law & Order and CSI.

I am disappointed that George and Izzy slept together and agree Izzy has become an annoyance. I like Callie and can't wait to see how she reacts to the news.

Melanie, there is no need to apologize for complaining about dear ol' AF. Like you, I adore the fact that I am a woman and can carry and have babies. Men can do nothing to equal that IMO! Sorry guys. But, that doesn't change the fact that periods can be painful, messy, inconvenient, etc. A drag!

Autumn - Thank you, thank you, thank you. I got it and will read it in more detail later tonight. I have a FULL day ahead of me and really shouldn't be online! LOL! Yes, I'm dying to see if George even tells Callie or she finds out on her own.

Melanie - No worries on the whining! I love your attitude and it really is nice to see someone so positive. I know that I need to be better in the whole thankful/trusting in God dept.

Morris - How are you? Hope everything is going well.

I better get going. I just finished my taxes and am just grateful we're getting money back. I thought for sure we had to pay on our state, but it worked out. Have to get my dd's bday dinner ready for tonight. We're just having family over, but I have to hit Costco and all that so I'll TTYL! Have a great Saturday!

Lisa

Where's MY novel?!?!? Send me the novel, please---or could someone just forward it to me? [email protected] Thanks!
BDay parties are fun.

I hope George tells Callie, b/c otherwise their marriage is doomed for sure! I don't like Izzy for doing this to George---not that George is innocent. The whole incident has made me sick to my stomach & really has kinda turned me off from the show a little.

"TTYL", what's that?

Melanie, your novel has been emailed. :)

I hope George tells Callie but most likely that won't happen.

TTYL= Talk to you later (I think :)
