TTC and preggers Week April 19th

Maggie, I picture DDs being almost too much help, if that makes sense.

Lisa, Too cool on the u/s!!! I'm so glad for you - makes me more anxious for mine. Hope you get your WO in.

Lisa - Great news on the u/s and test! Nice to have the day off for appt's like that huh? :)

Jen - Glad you're feeling better!

Hi Maggie, Morris, Kristan, everyone!

Today is a much better day for me. Cramping is gone and barely any bleeding. I'm also excited to start trying again, so I think my hormones are getting back to 'normal' now. I'll probably still wait for one normal period like the Dr. suggests, but they do say you're most fertile the 3 months following a pregnancy, so we'll see.

Got a good 40 min. in on the cardio machine today and some weight work on the legs. A good day...

Anne, Great to see you! Glad you are feeling better. Was your WO at Snap? My sisters went there tonight. They asked me to come but I had a lot of paperwork to do so I had to stay home. Thanks for keeping us updated - you a brave Wonder Woman!

hi everyone!!

lisa, maggie, so glad for the good dr visits and pictures! hope you both feel well. lisa, i hope you get a bit more down time.

kate, are you still nausea free? belly popping yet?

hi anne - so good to hear from you. your attitude makes me cheer.

hi kristan, hi jen.

yesterday was a gorgeous day here and we played outside almost all day. managed to walk the dog and run 8 mil too! unfrotunately, dh left town yesterday just for a few days, and ds woke screaming at 1:30am. must have beena nightmare, b/c i could not get him back down and he was not in any pain. finally at 3:30i pulled him into bed with me. hard to sleep with a 2 year old snoring next to you though. at 5 i put him back to bed and did some kickboxing. i am so tired, though. i hope i can make it thru work today, but hpe that if i cannot, my bosses understand. anyone have tips on helping kids get abck to sleep after a nightmare??? this is new for us. thanks!

Yes, Morris, I am proud to be mostly nausea-free!!! Can't let myself get too hungry but doing pretty dang good! And another yes on the belly. I'm wearing clingy maternity stuff so I don't get the tent look yet. In reg. clothes I'd just look chubby so I might as well wear mat. and look pg! As far as the nightmares... DDs rarely have them. I find that when they do and also when I do its because I'm/they are too hot. Check the temp in his room and make sure his jammies aren't too hot as we're transitioning out of the winter stuff. getting them back to sleep? We have a king-sized bed so I tend to just pull 'em in with us. Next night all is back to normal. Hope you make it thru the day! I was pretty tired while I was making lunch for us but I'm pretty good now...still think I'm gonna nap though! As late as we stay up working I have to catch some zzzzs in the daytime.

thanks for the advice re nightmares, kate. last night was nightmare free and i got a bit of sleeep - not enough thoughx(

i did get up early and hit the treadmill for a run, and i am glad i did. i am very very emotional today and can only imagine what i would be like if i had not run. hoping to squeeze in me upper body later, but a nap sounds so good. dh won't be home till late and i still have to make it thru the rest of my day.

hope everyone else is doing well. any fun weekend plans? i am hoping to seal our kitchen floor grout - fun fun! also need to wash windows and other various spring projects!

Hi everyone! No big plans for me this weekend except hopefully taking the kids to the pool on Sunday. I'm going to be heading out soon to take a walk outside before it gets too hot. I actually did 4DS LIS the other day, but had to stop because it's been soooo hot and muggy here. Our workout room has no a/c and I might have to squeeze into our bedroom to workout if it keeps getting hotter. I waited until 9pm at night to let the room cool down, but it did not help. I'll do shoulders and triceps after my walk. Anyway, kids are out of school today. Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Lisa

Morris, Sorry the hormones are taking over! Hey, at least its not PMS! Saeling kitchen floor grout? Yuck!!

Lisa, Swimming sounds great! I would hate to be so hot - even harder when pg. Mike took DDs into the hot tub last night - wish I could've joined them.

---------------
I have been feeling sooooo good! Eating good, workouts everyday.
AND! I got into RT!!! I'll be 28 weeks preg so modifying for sure but I am so excited!

I have a baby shower tomorrow for a friend who's having her 1st baby. I was hoping to go alone but DH has plans so DDs are coming with me. It's at a very child-unfriendly immaculate house. They're going to be miserable! At least there will be cake - that'll make them happy!

I've been super-emotional the last couple of days--lots of crying jags. I can get pretty irrational. This is the most emotional pregnancy I've had in a while. I'm a little concerned about ppd, since that happened a couple times before. Both dh and I are aware that this is a possibility for me, so anyway....Sorry to be such a downer. I am feeling better today. Hormones x(

Lisa--I'm glad the counseling went well. It's always a relief to have a good report.

Kate--Yes, your daughters may be "too much help", sometimes my kids are, but all in all it's a good thing. You are going on the RT? How fun. I'd love to go to one someday, but I really doubt it will ever happen. Ooooh you'll have to give us lots of details.

Anne-I am glad you are feeling better.

Morris--no fun weekend plans really. Just going to catch up on some house stuff and school stuff and grocery shopping. Dh was supposed to go out of town for scout leadership training, but it got cancelled. I'm kind of--no I'm really--happy about that.

Hi Jen! Hi Kristan!

Maggie
23 weeks 4 days

Okay, I'm back.

Maggie, Sorry about the hormones. I think MOrris was having a hard time too. I definetly get ppd - it stinks, to say the least. Hope you manage to avoid it. Our poor DHs! Glad yours is going to be around today - mine's off doing man stuff.

DDs and I have a baby shower to go to today - I hope they have good food!!
I did 4DS KB cardio last night - fun!

Have a good one everybody!

Hi! Wow, I have 5 minutes to myself to type:) . My husband and I take turns getting up with Andy (3-year-old) on the weekends. If I am already up, and he wants to get up and play with Andy, then I get to read in bed, use the computer, etc. Not like it's a chore to get up and play with Andy, but it's nice to have some "me" time for a little bit.
I am totally over bronchitis now. My voice is slowly coming back to normal-it's a little raspy yet. This week was crazy due to final project in my grad class, but I did take a 45 minute walk, I did one of the upper body premixes from 4-Day, and since Kristan talked highly about the 10 Min Solutions on Netflix, I did the kickboxing one lastnight (with K Roberts), and I liked it for a change. I plan to take a really long walk today, and work my legs. I have another event tomorrow (out of town). It's my cousin's shower (for her 2nd baby). The first time she was pregnant, she didn't tell anyone until she was in labor (don't ask). She never told who the father was. So, she continued to live with her mom. Now, 2 years later, she is pregnant again, and now engaged to this father (not the father of original baby-still don't know who he is). She got tons of stuff with first baby, so I feel a little weird about getting her a big gift for her official shower. I just got some clothes. Oh, and for the record, she is DH's cousin...not mine;-) .

Anne-I am so happy that your pain is gone and you are ready to try again. Good for you!
Morris-DS went through a stage like your son's. He would get up a few times a night screaming and crying. I just went in, hugged him and put him back to sleep. It lasted a few months, and now he is fine.I know what you mean about a snoring child too!
Lisa-What is your occupation? Great news about the counseling and the u/s. My next dr. appt is on Monday. They will do the triple screen, and I think that's it. Next appt. should be the u/s (in four more weeks). We tried swimming lessons with DS over a year ago, and it was good at first. After the first 3, he screamed his head off for the next two, so I took him out.
Maggie-My hormones were out of whack earlier this week too. And, yes, people get on my nerves too. I wish it wasn't like that, but I have a very low tolerance for stupidity and rudeness! I hope you feel better soon.
Hi Kristan! I will not be getting compost, but I will be getting really dark mulch next week. You have inspired the gardner in me:) .
Kate-A nap sounds good! Have a great weekend!

-Jen

Jen, Glad you get some me time! I won't get that today - maybe tonight? Glad you're feeling better too! What will your degree be when your grad class is done? That shower thing IS wierd - I'd buy her a $10 toy and call it good! LOL on noting its DH's cousin! My u/s will be in 5 weeks - I can't wait!!!!!!

I forget who wanted the Pregzilla t from 2chix but its back in stock AND its also in the slightly imperfect/sale section. I've ordered slightly imperfect and there was one little knot of fabric at a seam but other than that it was perfect. I ordered the p'zilla in s.imp.

Above is a copy/paste of an email I got from them.
You can also use a discount code of fitpreg for 15% off any purchase - no minimum. I sed this one and got the P'zilla (s.i.) for $15. DH laughed when I shower it to him!

Happt Shopping! Oh, and their 40-week skirt is amazing. I have the seaweed and the black.

Maggie - Sorry the hormones are taking over like crazy, but I have been there also. I hope your hormones will lay low next week to give you a break. I had ppd with ds and that was not fun. I cried the whole first week of being home and each week got better, but it was really hard.

Kate - You're making me want to go shopping now that I really need to start buying some maternity wear. And of course, it can always be justified with the discounts!!:7

Jen - Yay for finally getting over that bronchitis! We all need "me" time and I'm glad you're able to squeeze some in for yourself.

Morris - How has ds been the last few nights? None of my kids ever had night terrors so I'm not too experienced in that.

Lisa

Kate - I think I've been saved by the fact that most of the shirts I want are out! OMG, they are so funny! Which ones do you have? I don't know if I should wait for the ones I really want to be in stock or just get what is in stock. I really want the pregnant is the new sexy or the no, no, no. I liked who's your daddy, but DH didn't seem to thrilled about it. I thought it was hilarious.

Lisa

Actually DH didn't mind the shirt so I went ahead and got the slightly imperfect who's your daddy. We wanted to get him the I'm the Milkman shirt, but they don't have his size. So funny!

Lisa

i love all the clothes comments. no more maternity clothes for me , though - i got some hand-me-downs from a gal at work, and i am happy with that.

hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. it is gorgeous here. we did some closet cleaning this morning then went to the park for playground time and a walk. it was nice. i also got to work out, which felt great. no more nightmares the last few nights, thankfully. also, i have an us scheduled for tuesday evening b/c i am measuring about 3 weeks behind. i cannot wait to see this baby.

lisa, can you get an ac for your workout room while you are [pregnant? i hate being hot when i am pregnant.

maggie, i hear you on the emotions and hormones. i hope ppd does not hit you but i am glad your dh is helpful and aware.

kate, glad you are feeling so good. how was the baby shower? how was the cake}( }(

jen, glad you are on the mend and got a little time to yourself this am. how are you feeling? have you tried any other new dvds?

kristan, hope you are well. what are you enjoying for workouts thesew days? any more us's coming up?

i did imax 2 blasts and amys new hi lo today. hoping to get up early and run tomorrow. i also am thinking of ordering a few new cathe's - i do not have muscle max and think i may like it. also, i was thinking of hsta. we are off to a friends for dinner. nice not to cook!

Lisa, Glad I could help you get some retail therapy! I have the 2 skirts (again, amazing!), Pregzilla, let it show, with bump not plump, and what's kickin'?. They are super comfy - hope you like yours. I really like the who's your daddy but DH is repulsed by it! LOL!

Morris, I need to tackle the hallway linen closet - it is horrible to say the least. Hope you get good news at your u/s. I actually avoided shower cake, but tonight is my sisters 18th bday. She asked me to make dark chocolate cake with dark chocolate frosting. mmmmmmm! Chocolate overload for sure! Great WO! MM is wonderful!! One of my favorites for weights. I like HSC a lot more than HSTA, but both are very good, kick-you-in-the butt WO's! Have a nice dinner out!

Kate-Thanks for the info about the shirts. I am going to get my pregzilla one right after I am done with this. I just bought a few tanks at motherhood for $8 each, and a pair of green shorts (longer shorts) and tan capris with little ties. I got a few things at Target, so besides the pregzilla t, I am good to go. Oh, any recommendations on good, comfy summer sandals that don't look like grandma sandals? I threw all my flip-flops away last summer, and I don't think they'll be the most comf. things to wear this particular summer. I just need one all-purpose pair of sandals.

I am not actually going for another degree since I already have my M.S.Ed., but I am going for my reading specialist certificate. I love teaching reading/writng, and this program is a total of 9 grad courses. They are offered at the high school (through a college), right across from the elem school where I work. They are every Thursday, and they change every 8 weeks. We are supposed to be there from 4:15-9:30, but actually, it's more like 4:30-7:30, so it's not bad. I love the courses. This current course is over this Thursday, then the next one will begin the following Thursday for 8 weeks. Then, I will have 1 course that will be M-F, from 8-4. That one may be a little crappy. But after the first week in July, I have the rest of the summer off. Then, course from PSU transferred for the fall, so I won't have to start courses again till mid-end of October. That will be after the baby is born. I will be all done next June. I couldn't pass up this opportunity.

WEll, I am off to shop (thanks, Kate}( ).
-Jen

Jen, Happy to enable you!:) Sounds like you're getting some serious shopping done! Good for you! I am a JCrew flip flop addict. The ones with the balck soles are absolutley wonderful. Your foot completely molds to it and th eblack does not rub off onto your skin even when wet. All of that school sounds exhausting!

========================
I was at my mom's for dinner. SIL who is due 5 days after me was there too. She's showing even more than me. She's almost 15 weeks and her belly button popped already! Can you believe that?! I was scared to death I'd look like a rotunda beast next to her but I think we'll actually be pretty similar. ^5 to that!
