Trying to lose weight? You owe it to yourself.......

to give it a sincere 100% try.

I have been struggling with losing about 50 pounds for quite a while. I am going on the Disney Cruise in mid-October with my DH and son. And, I'm trying so hard and trying to figure out a regime to follow, etc. Well, last night I decided that I AM WORTH IT!!!!! I am going to give myself the three months here before we go to give it 110% and see what happens. I have an exercise rotation (from here) and I follow Weight Watchers.

I am worth it to be healthy and fit. I just wanted anybody else out there to realize that you are worth it to give it 100% and get the results you want. It's only a short time out of your life to get going and what a huge benefit you will receive. Of course, you will be hooked then and run circles around what you used to do.

Good luck to all of you who want to lose weight - you aren't alone.

YOU DESERVE IT!!!!

Marcia,

Congrats, I'm so happy that you feel yourself is worth all that extra effort. You should be very proud of your decision, and now go for it. Lose that weight, 3 months is a pretty fast drop for 50 pounds, even at 2 lbs per week, but just getting your body to start to lose is a big accomplishment and knowing you are worth the effort and the knowing as the pounds start to come off, your the one who did it, and you do look better for it. Can be the the two hardest steps in the world. I'm sure you'll accomplish both your goals with that attitude.

Thanks Kit, I agree the whole 50 might not come off in three months, BUT I will hopefully have a darn good start! :)

Marica,
I am right witht you. I am recovering from an ED and I am going to do it! I am following WW also to help me develop healthy eating patterns. I really think it is mind over matter and with the support from this board it has helped me tremendously :) Good luck! I am going to Disney world with my 3 little ones in Oct. now that will probobly be more work than recovery.LOL!

Thanks for your encouraging and positive note! I also have about 50 pounds to lose, AND, I'm going on a Disney cruise next week (can't wait)! Just last week, I started a sincere effort to re-establish a solid, regular exercise routine (using a new elliptical and strength training, so far...working my way back to Cathe cardio). Obviously, I'm not going to make much impact on my weight before we sail, but I truly already feel the benefits of exercising regularly. It makes me remember why I've enjoyed being active in the past (I've been out of the routine for about a year), and I also remember that those good feelings build on themselves. I plan to keep it up, lose the weight, and stay active, for my physical AND mental health! It's time...I'm approaching 40, and I'm in nursing school. I want to be fit and healthy to enjoy my "middle years" and my new career!

Thanks for sharing your good thoughts!
Allison
