Morning Ladies -

This morning I did Tae Bo Amped Core Express with my Amplifier bar followed by Guillermo Gomez's South Beach Box while listening to Papa Roach. Workout was 60" and I burned 504 calories.

I ordered Spinervals Flexible Warrior volume 1 from Amazon. It was expensive ...even on Amazon. Haven't had time to preview it yet, but the woman on the cover has impressive arms......really cut and muscular!

I'm only working a half a day today. After yesterday, I need it. We were there late last night ...heavy patient load. It was a stressful day. I'm going to make up perfume samples this afternoon and take care a few of things i normally have to do on Saturday.

Carrie - I wish I would get real sore from Core Synergestics. I have a hard time getting sore from much of anything. Every once in a while I'll do a new workout and get a bit sore....and I get happy! Re: the cardio.....I'm not sure what my body likes. I thought I was getting fatter or bloated from cardio and I posted about it over at VideoFitness and everyone told me that cardio doesn't make you retain water, but lifting weights does. Therefore, I blew off that thought. I know I retain water cuz of the Advil I take...but I suffer with too much pain when I go without it. I"m also not sure I have the kind of body that can go without enough cardio. I'd be afraid to only do minimal ...cuz I can't afford for it not to work and gain more weight. Then I started wondering if I got my body so conditioned and used to cardio, that I'm just not responding any more. Over the Summer when I wasn't working, I was doing 1.5 hours some days of just cardio and then I got a stress fracture in my foot.....probably from overuse....but even then, I kept doing cardio...Spinning and Rebounding. I know that a while ago when I was younger and I did a lot of cardio/weight circuits, I seemed to maintain my weight better, but I was also younger then. It seems the last few years have been harder and harder to lose or maintain weight and I'm 48. How many days of cardio have you been doing? Where do you carry your weight? I tend to carry it in my butt, hips, and upper thighs and lower abs (the latter has only been a problem since I hit my 40's).

Have a great day everyone. I'll be around later this afternoon.

Good morning-

Today is Core Synergistics. I am sort of looking forward to this workout. Since I just did it 2 days ago I really want to push myself and see how it goes. I have a calorie burn goal in mind, and I want to get there.

I am getting really excited about finishing my first p90x rotation and being a 'grad'. This is the first time I have ever stuck with a rotation for 12 weeks. Now I know I can do a marathon, that is 12 weeks of training for some programs. Others can be 18 weeks.

Lora-were you inspired by Jill's Tae Bo experience that you whipped out the Amped?:) How nice you are working a 1/2 day, isn't that the best? I am thinking about your situation Re:Weight Loss. I think there is a valid point that your body is so well conditioned to doing intense cardio that it isn't responding. Also-( and you know all this already, I am sure:) ) as women age, of course we lose muscle mass, so that makes it so important to lift weights. Almost more so than cardio, in some respects. I tend to put weight on my lower/midsection, like most women. I am doing only 2 days or cardio currently. I have been doing the Classic rotation for 12 weeks and lost 5lbs. I am putting together a Blog page this weekend with all my results. As soon as I get it done I will post a link for everyone.
That is interesting what the VF people said that weights make you retain. Do you eat alot of fruit? I know you are a veg... Ok I will do some more thinking...

Jill-OMG, you met Shellie? I had no idea she had a baby? When was that? She has an amazing body. Does Billy's wife do Tae Bo at all? Wow, it was expensive. But I am sure a good experience at the time. You got PYFH??? Everyone raves about that one!

Carrie - Yes, Jill's post made me think about Amped and I was due to do a kicboxing workout and since it's my recovery week....I've been doing some non P90X+ stuff this week and will try the rotation again next week and see how my shoulders do. That's good that you've stuck with your rotation and you lost weight. How clean are you eating? About how many calories a day? I eat a lot of calories and I know I eat too many carbs...but I'm a real picky eater....and I've given up a few things lately with no change in my weight. I have a wicked sweet tooth and over the Summer I gave up my "candy habit". I used to eat 3 caramel creams a day and quit. I also used to eat a small amount of chocolate every weekend and I just gave that up and no change! I can't tell you how long it's been since I've had pasta or pizza....both of which I love and used to allow myself to eat once in a while....but now I eat salads when we go out. I eat shredded wheats for breakfast....but my downfall is that I love dried cranberries on them and they are high in sugar. I used to eat a couple pieces of fruit a day....but gave up bananas when I found out they were high in sugar. Now I eat an apple every other day ....cuz I'm not allowed to eat them at work....so I usually squeeze it in my breafast meal lately. In the Summer, I might eat more fruit with all of the seasonal fruit. I eat salads for lunch with Guiltless Gourmet baked tortilla chips....and usually eat a cheese sandwich (low fat swiss on wheat) with a salad for dinner. If I eat a snack, it's either low fat yogurt or some almonds. I also eat yogurt with lunch.) and if I eat a morning snack, I usually eat Kashi TLC granola bars which have 5 gms fiber, 5 gms protein and are low in sugar (but the Dark Cherry Chocolate ones are to die for!!). I also measure my food....but usually eat just slightly over a serving when I measure or count.

I usually can maintain my weight with no problem....but the last couple of times I gained weight - once on vacation a while back and just over the Holidays....I've not been able to drop it like usual. It's so frustrating. How old are you?

Hi ladies! So this morning I did the Daily Dose of Bliss from PY4H...I LOVED it! I felt sooo good afterwards and I really loved how it stretched out my hips, which were feeling tight.

Carrie, Shellie had a little boy in July (I think it was July but I could be wrong) of 2006. I don't know if Billy's wife does Tae Bo, though.

Lora, I'm sorry you're frustrated with your weight...I hope you don't mind if I offer you my two cents. Have you thought about adding in a full rest day once a week? I know it sounds like working out less will give you more results, but sometimes when you're working out really hard, your body needs that rest to recover. I had a friend whose weight loss was stalled...she was doing her workouts and teaching and was not seeing any more results. She was told to take an extra rest day and it busted her plateau. Just something to consider.

Have a great night everyone!
