Trying to Fit Yoga In for Sat Jan 26

Morning Ladies -

This morning I did G-Force Rebounder workout followed by 10 minutes of Denise Austin Fat Blaster Kick box. Workout was 50 minutes and I burned 439 calories. My HR stayed moderate around 68-75% of max. I'm finding I need to work harder and harder these days to get my HR up. I don't know what's up with that. No rest day today, as scheduled....as I need to lose a few pounds that have been accumulating from Christmas, etc.

I also did a 30" stretch DVD I got from Fitness Organica with Susan Powter....can't think of the name...got it as a $2 deal over there and I did Dance the Chakra's - with Ravi & Ana - Yoga Only set 30".

This yoga set had shoulderstand in it....so I paid special attention. I just wanted to mention that the easiest way to do it as previously described has a lot to do with hand placement while holding yourself up. My hands are basically way down on my lower back while I"m putting the majority of my weight on my triceps. My legs are not totally extended....much easier than putting them straight up to the ceiling. And yes, it's very important to get your shoulders shimmied way underneath you while in plough and adjust yourself to go up to shoulderstand. Anyway, I just love how the legs feel in this posture with the gravity reversal and how you can feel your blood rushing to your head. In this yoga set, we do breath of fire with shoulderstand with our legs in a V and it felt so good!

I hate to complain again, but I've still been suffering in horrid pain for the past 2 days. I was due to start my period today....but didn't yet. I know my pain's flaring partially from hormones (it always does) and probably exacerbated by the pushups. I'm gonna soak in the tub with Epsom's salt shortly and hopefully it will help a bit. Surely this weather isn't helping. It was only 9 degrees yesterday on my way to work!! Hate this weather.

I'm also feeling really disgusted with myself. The last couple of times I gained weight (once was on vactation in Vegas, and lastly over the Holidays), I have not taken the weight back off and now I need to lose around 13 pounds to get down to the weight I was trying to get down to before I gained all of this weight! I don't think not drinking enough water at work has helped....and I've also had a bladder infection....probably from inadequate water intake and "holding it" too long! Probably a little TMI....but I really think the water intake thing is contributing to my weight. The other thing different since I started this new job is that I'm not eating throughout the day like I used to cuz I can't eat at work....so I"m basically doing the 3 meals a day and eating more calories ....also not good for the metabolism! Oh well..........vent over. It's so frustating! Why does it have to be so difficult to lose weight and so easy to put it on? This problem has seemed to have gotten worse the last few years as I near the big 50!

Have a great day everyone. Off to do my normal Saturday rotuine. I've got lots to do today.

Hi ladies! Quick post before I am off to work. x( I am hoping to get back to my rotation today, which picks up with biceps. It was a good exercise week overall, but I think I need to start trying to lift heavier. I seem to be in a stregth plateau. It is just so hard to increase...especially with the dumbell jumps of 5 lbs. I bought a pair of platemates, which should be here by Mon/Tue of next week. I also need to change out some of my other dumbells (particularly my 8s and 12s) because they are not hex weights, they are plastic coated.

Lora-Sorry you are having so many troubles in so many places! Bladder infections are awful- (Not TMI by the way-no worries!) especially on top of everything else. When I get overwhelmed with symptoms, it gets so hard to concentrate at work. I hope you are able to find a more relaxed work environment soon. I am sure it would go a long way toward your overall health. From what I can tell, you are super skinny and look great in your pictures! :) Where on earth are you hiding 13 extra pounds? Are you sure it's not muscle you've built with your heavy P90X rotations of late? Have you ever measured inches or taken body fat instead?

Have a great day ladies! I will BBL after work. At least DH is coming with me to keep me company...and that's after going in to work himself early this morning. We are off for a nice lunch (read: CHEAT MEAL ) and then off to my job for the afternoon.

Hi Girls-

I am starting my last recovery week for p90x. Well, I may add 2 more weeks onto my rotation (isn't that sick?) because I want to time my 'after'photos, after TTOM. So I am planning on doing a recovery week this week, and another 'classic' week, and then recovery. Anyways... today is Yoga X, which I love dearly, but I may try my new DVD Kaballah yoga, and write a review here after I get done. I just love seeing my progress with Yoga X, that I hate skipping it when i can see such gains.

Jen-sorry you have to work today! How nice your DH is going with you though-makes it more fun! What are you doing for your lunchout? I am cooking some good stuff today-Blini with Smoked Salmon, and Parmesean Chicken. I am also going to bake some bread -- I think Whole Wheat, but maybe I will just do white!

Lora-Sorry that you are struggling to lose weight. I am not really sure what to tell you. I have only 'tried' to lose weight after I had my son. One trick I did when I was doing that, was I didn't eat anything after 5pm. That may sound strict, but it really worked. It put my body in a fat burning mode to digest all my cals and I lost a lot of weight doing this. Do you drink Green Tea? I drink 4-5 cups a day-that works great. I understand you can't be running to the restroom all the time. But there are green tea pills, and also Dr Brandt has a green tea antioxidant booster you can add to your water.

I need to read this weeks posts and catch up with the rest! Everyone have a great start to your weekend!

Carrie - I can't do Green Tea cuz I'm not allowed any caffeine...as I have stomach problems. Thanks for the tip though. There is no way I can go without eating after 5:00 pm. I don't even eat dinner until 6:30 on some nights. I also can't sleep if I'm hungry....and it doesn't take much to make me hungry. I'm always famished. I don't understand it! I feel like that lady on the commercial for Gastric Bypass surgery....that says "That was my stomach ............I'm constantly starving......and I gained.......so many pounds""....or whatever she sas. LOL. I'm anxious to hear about Kaballah yoga. Please let us know about it.

Jen - no...it's not muscle....it's my fat bloated belly, hips and big butt!!! I think I need to start back on my Lotte Berk and incorporate more Pilates........plus get used to going hungry!

Back again. I did S&H Biceps, Power Hour Biceps and Step Blast Premix Combos 1, 3 and Challenge. Holy sh*t it is tough to do cardio after heavy weight training. I had so little energy left-but it felt good to finish it. :) I went to 12s on biceps. Couldn't complete all the reps, but that's okay-it's a start toward something heavier.

Carrie-Wow, two more weeks of the X. I've never done it and it still sounds exhausting. I don't blame you for taking the after pics after TTOTM. You must be getting really psyched about the results! :) :) DH and I went to Longhorn Steakhouse for lunch today. It was good! Your meals sounded yummy, too!

Have a great night everyone!
