Trying To Fit Yoga In for Sat Jan 12

Morning Yogini's -

This morning my rotation called for a rest day...but I opted for an active rest day and did Women's Health Perfect Body - Cardio 15" followed by Core Rhythms - Merengue Mania. This ended up being a moderate cardio session. Workout was 56" and I burned 487 calories.

Still not sure if I'm going to keep this Core Rhythms......as I don't really like it...but I'm trying to let it "grow" on me. Back in the undecided box it went!

I also did Yukta Yoga 45". Another yoga DVD from the Fitness Organica sale. It was okay....but different and relaxing. Not a very tradtional yoga DVD. We did aura cleansing at the end and an extended meditation.

Off to eat my shredded wheats with dried cranberries and then off to soak in my Lushie tub with Epsom's salts for my poor spasmed muscles. We're going to see Juno later today. It should be funny.

Have a great day everyone.

I pre-ordered the new Cathe's. I need to make up a lot of perfume samples to sell to get my Paypal account restocked after that hit! I hope they end up being worth the cost, as I really couldn't afford them right now. Who else ordered?

Yve - Core Synergestics is part of the P90X program and the instructor is Tony Horton. Why do they say you shouldn't lie on your back during pregnancy? It's nice getting your housework and errands done before the weekend.....and that's precisely why I enjoyed Thursday off so much this week!

Carrie - Core Synergestics is okay. I wouldnt say I hate it or love it...It's doable and not that boring....yet! I'm not really sure what rotation I'm doing? LOL! Right now I'm following the P90X+ Lean Rotation but I'm going to flip back and forth between the Classic and the Lean and I'm adding in extra cardio and not taking a rest day for now....but I might start to add one in soon. I keep saying I won't start taking rest days until I lose a few pounds......but I keep saying this and it never happens....and then I just end up getting a stress fracture from overuse.

Jill - I started this job on Dec 3rd, but I was off the week of Christmas cuz the office manager was on vacation. That sort of "hurt me" cuz I didn't have it embedded in my head enough to be off a week....but I seem to be catching back on again. I only made a few mistatkes this week. A couple big ones.....but the kind that you most likely won't make again. I stayed away from that one girl as much as possible. I basically worked the front desk by myself and only went back to the office manager and the other girl occasionally with a question....so it wasn't too bad. We had some patients cancel...so it wasn't that busy. The postion is a temp to hire position....so I'm not permanent yet....just a temp....thus the reason I'm so nervous about it. I'm working for a Colon & Rectal Surgeon practice with 2 physicians. The office manager is the doctor's wife. The doctor is the doctor who operated on my father long ago when my father died on the table and this is the surgeon who took care of my father in his last dying days when I was just 17. I also worked in this practice my very first job in the medical field when I was just 19....but I only stayed about a year and moved on to a better paying job....as they only paid me minimum wage. Isn't strange that I ended up here??? Anyway, the temp agency told me the assignment was for "front desK" but when I got there, I learned that I'd be doing not only front desk, but billing, write offs, and a lot of other stuff. I'm horrible at math....so that's mostly the struggle for me.....well that and the learning disability, short term memory loss thing!

Now that I've written a book.............off to get my bath. I'll be around later.

ETA: Speaking of stress fractures.......my DH went to the foot doctor last week for his foot that has been bothering him for along time now. He found out he has a healing stress fracture and plantar fasciitis.....just like me! I guess the doctor knew we were related! His healed by stopping running and using the bike and ellipitcal for cardio for months!! Talk about 2 people who like to eat too much so we do too much cardio!! Guilty as charged!

Today was chest work, pull ups and abs. I had a really good workout! I am really seeing alot of progress with the pull ups. Today's weight was 116.2, so holding steady with the weight loss.

Lora! You are freaking me out with you no 'rest day' regime! Have you thought maybe just to take a rest day with power yoga or something? I think the stress fracture would be terrible. That is the great thing about doing a p90x rotation, they give you those rest days built in. How nice that your husband workouts too! I wish my DH would. It's so crazy that we ended up together, as we have completely opposite interests. But, they say, opposites attract?

I am making a really good meal tonight, Thai Peanut Chicken. It's a slow-cooker receipe. I am serving it with terayki noodles. Yum.

Carrie

Funny you should say that, Carrie. DH and I have completely opposite interests as well. But we get along great! He smokes and doesn't exercise, but at least he does have a physical job. He's a utility locator and works in rural areas so he walks a lot.

Hi ladies! I am still recovering from that nasty cold but feeling better every day. On Thursday, I did PUB and got major DOMS :)! I really missed that feeling. I took rest days Friday and today. Today's was unplanned because I had to go to work unexpectedly and just wanted some downtime when I got home tonight.

Lora-Glad to hear you are still hanging in there with the job and doing well. What an interesting history and facinating about how you are back there now! I preordered the new Cathe DVDs today also! I can't wait! :) I still want P90X too-do you think the new Cathes will essentially be the same concept?

Jill-My DH doesn't exercise but he he walks all day on his job, too. He's a Facilities Coordinator (mostly building maintenance) for a large copier company.

Carrie-That slow cooker meal sounds delish! I love how easy the slow cooker is! I can relate to feeling different from the DH. I love mine very much but we are really opposite about some things.

Have a great night everyone! Hi to Yve and Kel!

Hi ladies,

Happy Saturday to all.

Today I went to prenatal yoga class - and then went out furniture shopping. I am pooped.

Lora - Pg ladies aren't supposed to lie on their back bc the uterus is now heavier - and it puts pressure on the main artery. This is especially important if one has low blood pressure - bc it would make the blood pressure even lower.

Have a nice night ladies - and will catch up with you tomorrow.

Yve
