Trying to Fit Yoga In for Monday October 1

Morning Ladies-

This morning I did Gilad's Cuts & Curves 60" followed by Self - Flat Abs Fast - Stab Ball, Pilates & Yoga segments 17". Workout was 1 hour and 20 minutes and I burned 330 calories. I then did Power to the Peaceful Yoga 50".

This Gilad workout was pretty good. I've never done anything by him before. I loved the beach setting (Self workout had a beach also) and I felt the burn. I still don't know why so many instructors make the high rep versus low rep heavy workouts. Lately, whenever I see a DVD with 10 reps, I get all excited, cuz I know I can do 6-8 if I want and heavy up.

Speaking of high reps....do people who are ectomorph's from the waist up even need to do high rep training for the upper body?

Have a great workout everyone. I have my interview at Children's Services at 2:00 pm....wish it were earlier!

Yve - sorry you are not feeling well. I wonder if the change of seasons is affecting you. I know I have a lot of problems with my sinues/asthma when the weather changes.

Jen - that Kickbox DVD is advanced....but I think it gets harder as it progresses. I don't usually get my HR up that high with kickboxing....even some of Cathe's....unless we're throwing in some higher impact. My HR only stays 125-140 for kickbox...depending. I usually even jump more and double time moves, etc. However, part of my problem now is that I have this fracture and the boot....and I'm not sure how much jumping is okay and it seemed boxing on the Rebounder wasn't really getting it up either....so I grabbed an Interval workout. Tracey's 2nd kickbox is sort of monotonous....in that the combos go on forever.....but the good thing is that you don't get confused, it's easy to pick up and I can play my own music and follow. Her first kickbox is harder to learn (and I think it's more interesting), but lots of people don't think it's intense enough...however, the way I do it.....I can make it plenty intense and it is not as boring to me. I enjoy it. I like Tracey. Let me know how you like Full Frontal.

Have a great day ladies.

Hi everyone. Sorry I didn't get a chance to post over the weekend, although I did peek in once or twice... just no time to post. We had a really busy weekend. Worked all day Saturday painting the inside of a the house we've been working on & then had to run back up to the property yesterday (it's about 45 minutes away from where we live) to show one of the vacant units. We finished painting the entire inside of the house (there were 3 of us - 2 cutting in & me rolling with an 18" roller... talk about a back & shouler workout!) & I think we have the other unit rented too so that's good. I'm in need of a break, though... a real vacation. So I told DH this morning & all he said was "I know what you mean". Doesn't exactly sound like we're in the planning stage, does it? So I'm going to keep mentioning it until I (hopefully) break him down. I still have 5 days of vacation saved up this year so we could definitely do something nice if he wants to. I know he wants to finish up at the property too, though, so I'll just have to wait & see how it goes.

This morning, I did the BC/ME Bonus Combo, doubling all the cardio segments & quadrupling one (the sumo squats) so I would feel like I had gotten enough cardio to call it a "real" circuit workout. I also added a few extra reps of tricep & pec work because I don't think there's enough in this combo workout. In the end, it was a great workout so now all I need to do is wait & see how I feel tomorrow... & if I can move - LOL. I think I really need to do a week of much lighter workouts or even take a rest week. I'm starting to feel a bit overtrained but I'm also starting to see such great results that I don't want to stop. I didn't bring my mat again today but if I decide to do some yoga, I can probably still do some anyway... but I might go walking instead since the weather is so perfect for a walk right now.

Lora - Great workout. I only have one Gilad workout & I like it but it's on VHS. When I was trying to decide which workouts I was going to do this week, I realized that I'm becoming bored with my current selections so I really need to get some new DVDs or at least pull out some of my old VHS workouts. In fact, I have the Navy Seal Stamina workout planned for Friday. It's on VHS & I love that workout. I guess I should consider getting some of my old VHS workouts on DVD but I also hate to do that while we still have a VCR player & there are new ones to buy. Good luck at your interview today. Let us know how it goes...

Jen - How is Lenny doing? Sounds like you had a very nice weekend. I wish I could have more weekends like yours. Maybe soon...

Yve - Gosh, I hate that you're still feeling bad. Hopefully, you'll start feeling better this week. Good job going to your pilates class even though you were feeling bad. Do you plan on going to any yoga classes this week? I still haven't looked into those other studios in my area. Maybe I'll do that today...

Christine - Hi! Hope you had a great weekend & get a chance to check in later.

Well, I better get to work, although I'm really not feeling very motivated today. I guess I just don't feel like I had a break since we were so darn busy over the weekend. Oh well. I hope everyone else has a great Monday & I'll be sure to check back in later. Take care!

Forgot to remind everyone to read my post from over the weekend re: the Yuba River Yoga to Go DVD I have to give to someone without a touchy DVD player.

Also -meant to elaborate on the yoga practice I did this morning. Peaceful....it was not. It was a pretty tough practice! Yikes....didn't expect that with a name like that. The teachers are Jivimikhtu (spelling??) instructors which I'm not familiar with.

I also did my Anusara practice last night "yoga to the rescue" with Desirree Rumbaugh and enjoyed it much more cuz I fast forwarded thru the instructions. It felt sooo good.

Gotta run..........going for my interview in a few minutes. Talk to everyone later.

Hi ladies,

Hope you are all having a great day.

Today I took a 45 minute walk to the golf course and around the putting green - then walked back home. My brother came by today for coffee which was nice. It's also my moms bday today - so DH and I will go and pick up the folks and take them to dinner somewhere.
I am still feeling the headaches - and just so fatigued. I think Lora - that you are right - the change of seasons - the pressure changes and the ragweed allergies are getting to me.

Lora - Great workout as usual. Hope that your interview went well. Yes - I am interested in the Anusara... I will get you my address info - I just have to figure out how to change my user settings so that I can send and receive emails.

Kel - Gosh that is a lot of work that you did. Painting is hard work - but I bet your happy with it now that it is done. What colours did you choose? I hope you can convince your DH to go away - It is always nice to have a little break. I am going to yoga tomorrow night - and Friday morning for sure.

Jen - Wow a 2 hour jog/run on Saturday! That is amazing. How nice that took a walk with your DH on Sunday. Is he very active also?
Sorry about your ankle - that sounds very painful.

Hi Christine if you check in later. Hope all is well.

Yve

Hi ladies! Quick post tonight. I am tired and hungry! NOT a good combination. Tonight's WO was Shape Bikini Body BootCamp segments 1 & 2. Segment 1 was interval cardio for 30 mins. I liked it! Segment 2 was compound weight work for 30 mins. :( I think I am beginning to dislike functional fitness more than cardio. :( There is one more workout on the DVD that I will try before sending it back. I think I will rent it from time to time for a good quick cardio session.

Have a great night ladies! I will catch up on personals tomorrow!
