Tried Bodystrikes this morning and LOVED it!

I got my new Bodystrike workout on Saturday and decided to use it for my cardio this morning and boy, did it deliver! I was soaking in sweat when I finished! ;)

It's a great 45 minute cardio workout infusing lower body toning with lots of squats, lunges, kicks and plie moves. I plan on wearing my heart rate monitor the next time I do this one (which I think will be this Friday) because I'm sure I was in the "zone" a majority of the time. Two thumbs up from me on this workout!!

I bought this but haven't previewed it yet. It's going to be one of my xmas gifts. You're making it reeeeaaallllly hard for me to wait....:D

Please post your heartrate monitor stats when you do it next--I love that stuff!

Denise,

I wanted this as soon as I saw the clip and now I want it even more after reading your description. :)

I'm supposed to get that one today. I''m anxious to try it.

I've already done the other two workouts and like them.

It is available at Ilaria's site (www.powerstrike.com), collage video and on amazon.

I highly recommend buying from either Collage or Amazon.
Someone who bought directly from Ilaria received a scratched disc that wouldn't play, and she expected them to pay return postage on it before getting a replacement.

I see that Powerstrike 5 and Bodystrike are intermediate. Can you do something different to make them advanced workouts?

There's a post at VF detailing both workouts. From what I read, Collage misclassified the BS one. It should be advanced. Here's what was posted at VF as the BS breakdown.

Warm up:

squats
side to side lunges
the usual push ups
more squats
Jinga lunges for 2 minutes progressively going lower
Ballet leg lifts
Front kicks, then front side kicks to the side (lateral kicks)
Front push kicks then roundhouse kicks to side kicks-Warm up is over.

There are 4 sets of exercises:

1st set:
squats the side to side squats
then slow squat then fast side squats
Alternating lunges forward
Front push kicks
Sequence 1 all together

2nd set:
Legs straigth up, toes pointed (ballet legs?) 3 to each leg; low, med to higher
4 squats feet together, then squat till hands touch the floor
then squat to a Burpee

Then 1st and 2nd set together

3rd set:
Right leg: 2X 1 Knee & 1 Roundhouse kick
2 Side kicks
then left leg same sequence
Then go from right to left leg 4 times

Then put 1,2 & 3 together for 4 times

4th set:
2X Front kicks & 2 Corner kicks (foot touches the floor between kicks)
2X Same kicks but foot does NOT touch the floor)
Repeat on left leg
Put sequence togher with right then left side

Then put 1,2,3 & 4 together for about 4 times

cool down with wide leg squats, then heels up
feet hip width apart and squat with heels up - Balance
1 leg squat down to hands touch the floor - eyes up
Regular squats

then finally to stretches for legs and hip flexors.

HTH!

Great, now i just spent 20 more bucks on ANOTHER workout video. LOL! No really, thanks. I was looking for a new kickbox workout.

Denise,

I burned just about as many calories with Bodystrikes as I did PS 5. I was very happy about that :D

Iris,

Oh, that's great! I can't wait to try it again Friday and use the heartrate monitor. I know I was in my zone during most of the workout---can't wait to check the facts!!

Denise

Did it again this morning---got my stats

I wore my heart rate monitor and my final stats were 385 calories burned in 42 minutes and an average heart rate of 146.

Definitely a keeper in my collection!! :)
