Tried basic step, what next?

My first DVD arrived yesterday and I did basic step. I actually found it pretty easy. Does anybody have a recommendation for another DVD for a newbie? I tried Allstep (on VHS) and I found that pretty hard to follow. Any suggestions? Something in between Allstep and Basic?

Hi, I also am new and have been doing basic step & Body Fusion.
I just got High Step Circuit for beginners/intermeditte and love it. it is easy to follow and fun. I have a hard time with difficult steps, I also want another of her aerobic workouts, but one that my two left feet can follow.
Good Luck.

Have you tried Body Fusion on the same DVD? Each step segment gets a little harder throughout the workout.

Yes, I finally tried it and I was strting to feel so smug becasue i was catching on, or so I thought and then the last two sessions reminded me that I still had two left feet and needed practice :>)))
But it was still lots of fun.

How would you rate High Step Circuit in terms of intensity for a cardio workout? Could I add some power moves and maybe take it up a notch? I want to do it on days when I want to "move", but I'm not in the mood for tripping over my step :)

your good. I did it, and will still do it for a month I guess before moving on. I will always be behind but at least I know what's ahead of me. :) I think I'll finaly accept that I am an intermediate exerciser now that it says you can be if you exercise more than two times a week. That's me.

Hi Tytbody,

I used to think of myself as an intermediate - advanced exerciser until I found Cathe - her workouts are a humbling experience! Most of the time I feel up to the challenge, but some mornings I am not in the mood for mombo cha-cha, and even if I were, my feet wouldn't do it. LOL. I need to find some good all out sweat cardio, nothing fancy, just move alittle, shake a lot, and SWEAT!! :)

Maybe I should just turn on my hip/hop radio station and so some beyonce moves! LOL

Joy

talk about Beonce moves. It's in this video I have called cardio strip tease. I wish I could show you but that move is definatly on there. I nice moveing cardio with no equipment, all standing, feeling good about your body and some hip movement to boot.

I feel ya on the cardio and some days not feeling the cha cha cha thing.

I've still not even done Body Fusion, that comes next week in the rotation.

heck I'm no *real* intermediate but when I was reading a book called *do it right* it called intermeidates those that did exercise more than twice a week. so I said, okay, that can be me now:) lol

Peace
