Treadmill recommendations?

I'm looking to buy a treadmill. Ideally I'd want it to go up to 12 mph, more than 1.5 hp motor, and be able to fold up. Price isn't too much of an issue if it has a good warrenty and will last me for awhile. I've just done a tiny bit of research, but it seems as though websites are just trying to sell a few brands...any recommendations?
Thanks!

I would NOT recommend a NordicTrack treadmill. I had problems w/ mine w/in a year of buying it (gently used) and had a terrible time getting it serviced anywhere. I hope someone has good advice for you!

I don't know if this brand has a fold-up, but PaceMaster is great. I've had the same one for 12 years, and the drive belt just started wearing out enough to require replacement. It has otherwise been perfect. Aside from the drive belt I just bought (no big deal), I've only replaced the tread belt 2 years ago.

My treadmill guy says if you take good care of them ~ lube and an official tune up every 2 years ~ , PaceMasters are good for around 15 years. I'm gonna push for 20. :D

I love my Bowflex series 3 treadmill. The Bowflex Series 7 was rated #1 on the Consumer.com website. The only difference between the series 3 (7 programs) and series 7 (15) are basically the workout programs available (There is also a series 5). I usually use manual anyways and adjust it accordingly as I love working out with the cardio coach workouts. It also has a Strike Zone shock absorption system.

It folds up and rolls away easily too, if you need to get it out of the way. I have run on it and have had it now for over 2 years and so far have not had a problem with it. Just make sure wherever you get a treadmill from that they have a good warranty with it incase you have a problem.

I have the Pacemaster Gold Fold. It is a great treadmill. I tried many, read tons, and chose this one. Oddly enough, the folding seems to be more stable than the nonfolding in this brand. I had read that but wasn't sure about it, but they delivered the wrong one to me so I had the nonfolding one for a while. Sure enough, the folding one is more stable. The guy at the store said it had to do with the frame, I think. I have also had a couple of questions about it that the store wasn't able to help with and I emailed them and heard right back via email and a phone call. If you go with the Pacemaster, be sure to get the VR one (Virtual Reality). That just gives you a few courses that are programmed in - really not that big of a deal, but you will know you have the most recent model. Lots of stores have both still.

Oh, it is also very easy to fold/unfold, move around if needed, and the handles are not in the way. I do not hold on and another advantage of the folding is that it does not have the side bars. I did read that some people didn't like the fact that the bars do not move as the incline increases (it goes to 15% btw) but I don't really get what the problem is, and if you don't hold on anyway - and I'm guessing with the spead you want that you don't hold on - it isn't an issue. I also have very long arms so even if I did hold on, the bars would be right there. I'm not being clear b/c I never understood the problem that people were complaining about. The only other complaint that I read was that in the folded position, it isn't directly vertical but unless you are 10 feet tall, you are not going to talk by and smack you head into it where it angles out slightly at the top when folded!! :)
