Treadmill recommendations

Happy New Year All!

I'm in the market for a treadmill and am getting overwhelmed with all the choices out there. I thought Cathe's educated crowd might be able to help me out. Can anyone recommend a quality treadmill at a mid-price range, like $500 or so?

Thanks,

Klaudia

Hi Klaudia,

I have a Pro-Form Crosswalk. It was around $600 or so. I have heard mixed reviews on my treadmill, but mine is almost 1 1/2 years old and works great. Some people say they have had problems with the belt, but again I haven't had any problems with it. I purchased mine on HSN.com.

I have a Gold's Gym Advantage. I got it at Dick's Sporting Goods. I am not sure if they make them anymore. Mine was regular $1,199.00 but I got it for $799.00. I think "maybe" it was closeout sale, because I have not seen them in there since then. But I am not sure. I love it, though.

I used to have a ProForm and it was a great treadmill. The only thing that ever went wrong with it was the "tread belt" ripped. My sister is still using it and it is fine. It is approximately 10 years old. It was only around $500.00 (I think).

I live in Canada and DH bought mine last year at Canadian Tire.I think it was around $700.Its funny b/c some of them are so expensive and I have never had a problem with mine.
A friend of mine paid a nice bit for her treadmill and it shut off at 80 min the other day.Mines never done that. Also DH's uncle has had to replace the belt a couple of times on his. They both bought theirs at Sears and they weren't cheap.
Apparently, the more expensive they are, the more gadgets and computer set up.I just want to know my time and mileage.

I second the proform treadmill. I have had mine for 5 years and it still runs perfectly even the auto-incline. My husband also uses it at the max so it has had some good wear and tear.

I just bought a ProForm from Sears last night. Can't tell you how it works, yet. They forgot to include the key! I'll let you know when the key gets here in 2-3 days!x( How funny is that!!! I'm glad to hear everyone else like's their ProForms!

I also had a Proform for many years. I bought it for about $399. I put heavy mileage on it until I joined a gym & started doing weights. I sold it to my freind.

Well, DH & I bought another Proform 1 1/2 years ago from Sears & got the warranty because I plan to keep this one around a long time. My friend recommended the warranty from Sears. She's had hers for 10yrs & Sears replaces belt & does maintenance on it.

Another Proform owner here!

I've had mine for about 5 years and never had a minute's trouble out of it. I think I paid about $599 for it at Sears.

Wow, I had the impression that unless you spent $1500+ you couldn't get a good treadmill, especially if you jog on it.
For those of you with treadmills do you jog/run on it?
