Hope you don't mind i started this week's thread again.I didn't see a new one for this week. This weeks topic is on:

MENTAL PREPARTION:
We all know it take alot of mental prepartion to get ourselves to workout&eat healthy additon to the rest of our lives chores. It's those little demons in our heads that make us go down the wrong path at times. It's easy to make excuses to not exercise, not eat healthy, procastinate etc.We have fight those negative thoughts and push hard to break our bad habits or improve our good habits.I know it's easier said then done.We are a powerful group that feed on each others strength. We have to strengthen our positive "core"thoughts and beat those demons.I've let my guard down and know it's time to put my arm in guard and start punching away!!!!!

We are getting a blizzard!!!!12-16"!!CAN NOT WAIT TILL SPRING!!!Going stir crazy!!!Once the streets are walkable I'M GONE!!!!!!!Must get my butt moving and do my workout!!!Have a good day!!!

The journey of a thousand miles must begin
with a single step.”

Lao Tzu

Sounds as if you're taking the steps on the journey FS! Remember, a step or two backwards does not negate all the hundreds of thousands of steps forward.

I think I've done about 11 days of the Intensity rotation. I swear I feel leaner. I'll put on my bathing suit next week and see if the "Christmas Pooch" has dissolved. (We're taking the kids to the beach in March. That's always motivating.) I'm really working on clean eating this week. So no posting about sugar cookies or apple pies!}(

School is out today. So I'm off to do Imax2 and then we'll take the kids to the movies! Too bad none of you live close to me - I could drop them off at your house!:D

Happy Monday Ladies,

Well first off I had a great V-Day with DH we had a great time together and it was nice to have the house to ourselves too. ;)

Secondly yesterday was a big party day for my boy Stolz, he turned 1 year old so of course we had a doggie party all day long. First off he went to town to PetsMart and got to say hi to all his friends. I bought him a party shirt that reads, “It’s my party and I’ll bark if I want to”. He also got a new squeaky toy that looks like a piece of b-day cake. After our day in town Dh barbecued up some round steak for him and the other two doggies and we sang Happy Birthday to Stolz. He was soooo excited all day long. It was funny to how all 3 of the dogs seem to know that the steak was for them and followed Dh all around soo intently while he prepared it all. We barbecue all the time so I don’t know how they knew that it was for them this time. I tell you critters are all mind readers, so be careful what you think. ;)

Okay on the w/o side of things, yesterday I did a huge challenge for myself. I decided to see if I could run a 10K which is 6.2 miles on Burner. Yup I did it!!!!! I went at a snails pace the whole time and it took me an hour and 22 minutes but I did it. No stopping and keeping a steady set pace. I was more concerned about making my distance than my time. I will get faster later. I haven’t run that far in years, it felt sooo good. I decided when I run my first road race later this year that I’m making up a special running shirt. My before picture will be on the front with the words saying “Before 207lbs at 41 years OLD!” And on the back with my after picture saying “After at ???lbs at 43 years YOUNG!” Since I’m not sure just what my after weight is going to be yet I’ll have to wait to have it made up. Pretty cool huh?? Today I’m a little fatigued so I think I’ll just do PUB and let the lower half rest.

Michelle- I got all teary eyed when I read about your 7 yr old reaction to the Blues Clue show. Poor little guy I’m sorry. Although I’m sure you are glad that it gave him a chance to let some of those feelings out. I know it isn’t something that he dwells on but I’m sure being able to express those feelings aloud was good for his soul. Good for you too. You’re such a nice Mommy. Did you read that my oldest is now driving down to LA/Santa Monica every Saturday? She got accepted to a very prestigious acting school so she is taking classes. She used to do acting in AZ. When she was little, she did a couple of commercials and was the “kid” in a movie. She is still taking her college classes here too but starting to want to stretch those wings a little more. Her horse stuff is still central to her too. She makes me tired!!

Juli- Wow how many costume in all did you do? What a great thing to accomplish!! WTG!!!

FS- I hate hate hate Home Depot on the weekends. Well I hate it any time really. I usually stay in the truck and listen to the radio. That is the most boring store in the world to me. Well unless it’s to buy something I care about. ;)

Bita- Stay warm.

Otisan- It must be because the sheltie is older that it seems so calm. Our sheltie just runs these two shepherds into the ground with her energy. Congrats on the b-bell weight too. Isn’t fitday great?

Hello to everyone else an have a great day,
Debbie

Hi ladies,
Hope everyone is doing well.

Well, I did the Bottoms Up Gold upper body and abs with real heavy weights, and power yoga today. Then since we've gotten about 20 inches of snow, I got to shovel our walk-way for about 4 hours! So I Know I am done for upper body today! Thank goodness for the functional fitness. You know, this kind of times it feels so good to be in shape to accomplish a task. I mean, looking good is wonderful but putting one's muscle to great work is equally great.
It's beautiful outside!

Have a blessed day.
Peace,
Bita:)

Hi girls,

Firmscorpio, this is definately a mental game isn't it. I feel a little like a mental case today though. How in the world do you girls live in that snow and ice. We took the youth group skiing and nearly got stuck in the President's Day storm you are having. The skiing was fun though and the kids had a blast. My calves are still aching. They had to stop the lift for me both times I was brave enough to head up the mountain. I was the snow plow princess for sure. It took us almost 14 hours to get home last night. It should have been about 9, but we had to creep along and detour around some closed roads. We came home to find my MIL in the hospital with maybe gallstones or pancreatis - not sure yet. So, I've had about 4 hours of sleep. Sort of been on Fitdoc's schedule. No wo today.

Happy belated birthday Stolz! My westie Ozzy's 2nd birthday was the 15th. She did not receive the royal birthday treatment though. Love, love, love the t-shirt idea Debbie. You're young in heart, mind, body and soul for sure.

I think it's hot tea time. I'm getting that no sleep brain fuzz feeling. Hi to all,
Gloria

Hi girls. FS-Great topic as usual! I did 4 mile walk/run Sat, rest Sunday and SB with Tracie this AM. It's cloudy and gray here but no snow or ice. I'm working but happy to be here. I don't do well with too much time on my hands. I ate everything in my house yesterday. Don't have a clue or an excuse??? Anyway waves to all and I must get back to the grind. I'm off Friday so I'll have to really earn it the rest of the week See ya soon. Janice

HI All!

Looks like a bunch of us have been hit by the blizzard. DF & I went outside to shovel three times, the first time was the worst. Bita, I hear you when you say that being fit definitely helps when it comes to shovelling! We got between 18-26", but I heard your area got it reallllly hard. Be well!

Fitdoc, congratulations on your returning sleek physique! You're going to look great next month :)

Gloria, I thought I was the snowplow princess.... I'm definitely not a downhill skier, but X country is fun. I hope the kids had a good time, too.

Janice, I was home all day today and those pretzels are calling my name like a siren. Must. Stay. Strong!!

Wildpony, I can't believe it's Stotz's birthday already, wow! Where does the time go? Zagnut will be one in April and I think we'll celebrate in a grand style, too. Still loving Fitday.com, BTW, how can I check other people's eating plans? I'm bigtime nosy, but I also like to see what keeps others on track.

Today's workout was supposed to be All Step and Chest (was very excited to use the new barbell and new sneaks), but alas, I'm tired & sore from shovelling. Just got a call from the VP at work, and we have off tomorrow too! A mixed blessing, since I have those pretzels. But also good so I can get a great workout in early.

Have a great evening, everyone, and stay warm!!

Firmscorpio, good luck with the snow, I know how much you dislike it. Just think- on Saturday we're due for a torrential rainstorm. Oh, joy.

Hi girls!

WOW! sounds like everyone is getting snowed in!I wish i could say the same -but today it was 65 -although it was a gorgeous day!i love the snow tho!!
today i did rythmic step& abs.
try to stay warm everyone!!"see"ya tommorrow!

Hi ladies,
Hope everyone is having an amazing day.

Today I did MIC and power yoga. My back muscles are so nicely sore from 3 days of shoveling!!!!

Please stay warm and safe, for Otisan, FS, and everyone who's gotten lots of snow!
And for those who are enjoying 65 degrees (smiley and Debbie?), I just don't know what to say!!! We'll get there one of these months!!

Enjoy it either way! BIG waves to everyone.
Have a wonderful rest of the day.
Bita:)

Good Afternoon, ladies

My company was nice enough to give us an extra snow day. We are also blessed to have clear roads! First thing I did this morning was to shovel out the cars, then I took Toby home. Mark went to the airport en route to Sarasota (very jealous, here :)), so now it's just Zaggie, myself, "All Step" and chest from Step & Intervals. Between all this shovelling and CTX, my biceps are taking off!

There is more shovelling to do, since it continued to snow this morning. I think I'll save that last packet of hot cocoa for apres shovelling.

Have a great day, whether it's beautiful & snowy or beautiful and warm :)

Otisan, thanks for the bright light at the end of the tunnel.Torrential rain?Oh god!!!My workout this morning was shoveling myself out of 18"of snow.WAS NOT HAPPY!!!x( We had a skeleton crew at work today. We are getting another 4" now.I couldn't even see my car this morning. It looked like a snow bank.HOW SAD IS THAT???

Wildpony,i feel the same excate way you do about Home Depot!Especially,on the weekends.I refuse to go on the weekend only if we go late!!!The only reason i'm not minding it now is because we are redoing our kitchen and repainting our house. It's coming along so nice. After we done the kitchen. You won't see me there for along time.

Fitdoc, bathing suit already?I'm sure you have to body for it!!
Goldengirl, are you getting excited for your FP weekend?I did order Susan's new tape!
Gloria,i hate this weather and i've live in NE all my life.

Waves to everyone!!!

Hi all!!
Has anyone tried The Gauntlet?I did this for the first time today. It was a butt-kicker but i thought it went really fast.(at least i thought that when i was done.)
also it cooled down here again in Fl.:) I have really enjoyed the longer winter..last year by this time it was getting hot!take care everyone!

Hi All --

It's 5 in the morning as I'm posting this. My DH had to catch an early flight so I'm up as well.

We were housebound all weekend with the storm. Cincinnati on got about 4" inches of snow but there was ice underneath so it was very treacherous on the roads. So dangerous that on Sat/Sun most malls and places of worship shut down. My DH and I made it out of the house on Monday because my car was scheduled for some maintenance. It was a bit dicey getting there in the morning but when I went to pick the car up in the afternoon, the roads were in good shape.

Monday was a snow day off from work, so I used it to finish cutting out the pieces for my Angel costume. Thanks to all of you for cheering me on throughout this project. It's been a long one (I've been working on this since Christmas)and at times it seemed like it would never end. Now I'm down to my last costume and plan to have everything ready by March 1.

Monday night is usually a w.o. night for me, but DH and I decided we had been cooped up for too long so we went out for date night -- a Mexican restaurant. Last night, though, I worked off all the cheese with Super Sculpting.

Waves to Otisan, fitdoc, FS, Bita, Gloria, Janice, Smiley and Robyn.

Juli

This morning i had to "mentally" fight with myself to get up after resetting the snooze button.I made the "choice"to get up and work on strengthen my "core" with vol 3 BECAUSE THERE ARE NO FREE RIDES!!!!It's been so tough getting out of bed.Today was in the 30's.Very nice day.Snow is starting to melt. Can't wait till the streets are walkable. Our house guest "gordy" is coming on Sunday.I'm excited because it give me an excuse to get out there and walk.Doing better on getting my veggies in.Going to Sam's club later to do some serious food shopping. Then to Home Depot(Wildpony's favorite place)to get more paint.Going to take a nice hot shower and chill before we go>Have a great night.

I hate to have to post and say no exercise again. But....It has been so crazy around here. Between MIL in the hospital, DH's secretary still out and my Dad moving I've been pulled in every direction. Yesterday I went to the hospital twice, my Dad's twice and worked 4 hours at the office. Today has been more of the same. I guess we all have those weeks and I know it will calm down. One good thing about being so busy is I've had no time to think about snacking.

Juli, finally the last costume - good for you!

Is there a way to see all the replies while you post? I want to respond but I always forget who said what.

Have a nice evening all,

Gloria

Happy Wednesday Evening Ladies,

I’m sooo tired I just finished PLB and whew!!! I love this one but it kicks my behind. Does anyone else have a love hate thing with the ball at the end of this one? My hamstrings are going to hate me in the morning. (again) I got my run in yesterday as well.

I have had to make a trip down the mountain 2 days in a row for different Dr. appts . One was for me and new contact lenses and today to take youngest to dermatologist. Yup I trying out a new local dermo. This time I making my dd be the guinea pig though. ;) Tomorrow its back down the mountain for dd’s orthodontist appointment. I’m starting to feel like a city girl again. Lol. Speaking of city girl.

Yesterday after oldest dd got home from classes she had a message on her answering machine. It was a friend of hers coming back from Australia through LAX and ended up having a lay over until early this morning. So dd decided to drive down to LA to meet her and spend the night gabbing/gossiping. No biggie except for the getting to LAX part. Seems dd wrote the directions wrong to the hotel which was in not actually in LA but a nearby city. So here she was driving and all of a sudden realizes that the area she is in looks familiar, like from a rap video or something. Yeah she was in South Central/Compton heading up Crenshaw. Once she started recognizing street names from Dr. Dre songs she knew she was going the wrong way. Thank goodness for cell phones and parents with fast internet connections. Hey every good experience she has although with some difficulties makes her a stronger person. Any ways her and her g-friend had a fun time catching up. Too funny though. Although my dream early this morning about her being held hostage in a crack house was a little disturbing. Oh, well she’s home now.

Have a nice night all,
(And DD say‘s don’t let the evil LA drug lords and Pimps bite)
Debbie & DD

Juli- Mmmmm Mexican food….. Next time give me a call and I’ll buy the margaritas.

FS- Way to be fighting off that evil snooze button. I have to fight off that mean ole couch potato friend all the time.

Gloria- Getting your heart rate up with stress isn’t’ the way to fit in your w/o’s. lol. Hang in there we all go through crazy weeks sometimes. I hope your MIL feels better soon.

Wow, Wildpony, that's one scary story! I'm glad for cell phones and parents with fast internet service, too!

Gloria, looks like you are keeping busy. Hope your MIL gets better soon. Keep on posting! I need to make sure that you're ok!

Today was my first day back at work after a nice (?) 4 day weekend. Zagnut was all alone today, and I felt bad for her. Of course now that I'm home, she wants to spend every minute outside in the snow.

WW left their scales at work and I weighed myself at lunchtime. I'm down 2.6 since last week, but I'm not concerned. I feel much better since the first of February, so who cares about the scales? It's just a snapshot in time, right?

Today I did the challenging Power Circuit- those planks kill me every time. Great workout, though.

To all, a good night :)

Hi ladies,
Hope you are all doing wonderful.

Otisan, it's so great how you feel. I know you must be a very beautiful person inside and out. It's way too obvious.

Debbie, what a story. Glad everyone's safe.

Gloria, I hope everything calms down smoothly. Hope your MIL is doing well. I love your attitude.

Juli, great job on your very hard work.

FS, what a willpower. More power to you.

Wednesday was my lower body day, so I picked Joyce's workout. Her workout is good in a strange way! Then I had time to do Pilates and some ballance ball workout.
Thurday, I will be doing Streamin' Cardio.

Warm hellos to everyone.
Good night.
Bita:)

Good evening all my little snow angels! Utah is as dry as a bone - you are taking all of our snow! Glad to hear you are surviving.

Today was PLB and the part with the stability ball was almost the death of me. (Have you noticed how I equate all of Cathe’s workouts with death/dying/torture?) I didn’t get to do the 5 intervals of Imax2 – so I’ll add that to PUB tomorrow. Then I’ll be “fair and square” with my Intensity rotation.

Debbie! DOH! I almost forgot! I bought a stability ball and an 8# weighted ball over the weekend! WAHOOOOOOOO!

FS - I'm so proud of you! NO FREE RIDES!

Take care everybody - gonna get this tired ole' body into bed:*
