I didn't see a new thread for this week so I started a new one. This week's topic is on:

"CORE" STRENGTH:
Cathe&Fitprime do a great job on working our "core".Not just physically but mentally.Mental "core" helps us get through the workouts and everyday situation. It's hard work to exercise everyday, eat healthy,do housework, work, taking care of family etc.Our "core"thoughts are what make us deal with life. It's our choice if we chose to think negative or postive.Positve "core" thoughts make life much more enjoyable.Working out hard and being strong make us a mean, lean fighting machine. We've become strong determined women.

We workout hard and we play hard. When doing certain activites we notice how much stronger our core is.And how important it is to keep it strong. We also need to focus on our "core" feelings. We have to keep feeding our "core" with hard workouts and high energy foods. We need to keep challenging and strenghten our "core".Have you ever seen the advertiments in the fitness magazines. With the picture of an apple and the "core" is shaped like a women's body? That's what we look like if you peeled us!;-)

Keep working hard, strenghten, strenghten, strenghten that core!Every workout you do adds strength.High-energy foods gives us the fuel we need to keep going.Postive thinkings give the motivation to keep going>We are all apples with a beautiful strong core!!!:D

Hi ladies,
Hope you all are having a great day.

I certainly have strongly felt you ladies strong and beautiful cores.

FS, thanks for the awesome topic. How cool! Lean, mean, fighting machine!! Apple with a beautiful core!!
I LOVE IT!

Janice, so you are loving the new FP tapes. I am soo.. glad. I am still waiting for mine to arrive. I mean it's been ONE WHOLE week and that's waaaaay too long ;)!!!!

I did Mindy's body bar: Energy Action Circuit today. She killed me and I loved it!

Waves to everyone and have a great day!
Bita :)

Good topic, FS, I'm working bigtime on increasing my core strength. I believe that that and better posture will enhance all fitness gains.

Last night I did LL and the floorwork to volume 1 at 11:35pm. Tonight I hope to get started a little earlier. I have Step and Intervals along with chest on the workout front.

I signed up for Fitday.com also, because I need to see where I'm at nutritionally. I thought I did well, but my protein & carbs are about even (I had zero starchy carbs, how can that be? :p) and I only had FIVE grams of fiber. I could have sworn I had more than that.

Have a great day, everyone!

Hey everyone..I have seen that advertisement with the apple core.Good topic for the week....especiall with all the focus on core work w/ the new series!

Today i did bootcamp/abs.Bootcamp was awesome it is split into 8 segments of cardio/lower&upper body/abs...so time flew by!
well i gotta scoot..talk to you later!

This weather is not letting up.We got a good dusting last night. It is freezing out.We are surpose to get more snow Wed&Fri.Thurs is going to be the coldest day out of the year.It makes it extremely tough to get out of a nice warm comfie bed.A nice "comfort"zone. This morning i did CTX kickbox(biceps)for the first time.Worked my "core"alright.Gotta love Cathe. She is so amazing and adorable.Have to go out of town for the day today.Packed healthy snacks.Would love to go back to bed right now!LOL.Three day weekend coming up.Have a great day!

Yesterday’s workout was Cardio and Weights. Fun workout. I had to raise the step to 8” in order to get my heart rate up during cardio. I am really enjoying the Intensity Series! Today is Pyramid Lower Body with 5 intervals of Imax2. I’m going to do that one just as soon as I log off! :D

Make your day great!

Hi girls. FS-I love that topic. "Core" strength. That's what we ALL need. I did PH yesterday and IMAX2 this AM. Did StC(FP) Saturday. I don't think I can work out much harder than that! Man, am I ever feeling IMAX. Those "genie" jumps, ski jumps with tucks and that plyo with flying leaps are KILLER. Didn't have to modify nearly as much today either. :) Work's been so crazy so I must get back to it. Hi to everyone and have a great day. Janicl

Last night I did Step & Intervals with chest. I increased the weight on the barbell, but it's still tough. Tonight is Power Circuit & Back.

FS, this is indeed a cold winter. Just keep this cold weather in mind in July when it's 100° in the shade :) Spring will be here before you know it. How are the wedding plans coming?

Have a great day!

Hey everyone....hope everyone is having a good day..and not freezing! I did imax xtreme this morning and it was so fun i honestly could have done it again right away!It flew by so fast.tata for now!

Happy Tuesday,

Well I too love the apple core analogy. What a great visual FS!

Yesterday I did get in my 4 mile run and fat burner walk, today is PLB. I am also loving this new Intensity Series, such fun w/o’s.

Lately with both my dd’s working out sooo much my little home gym really feels like a big gym. We have been having to plan our w/o around each other so as to not get into each others way. I am the official trainer for the “Full Circle Ranch” so I help them with their w/o schedules, form and weight selections. Right now on the days that I run they use the mat area for DVD’s and vise a versa on my DVD days. Boy though it really shows me just how much I have learned from doing my Cathes, in terms of form correctness. My oldest 20 is using light weights at this point and my youngest 12 is not really using any weights, just her own body weight, with the occasional exception. With them both moving to my DVD’s and not just my TM they have gotten a lot of respect for the amount of weight that “Ole Ma” uses. My 20 yr old was on TM the other day and saw me grab the 20lbs for pec flys and almost feel off thinking I had certainly grabbed the wrong weight. Ha ha… Poor little rabbit tricks and heavy weights are for Mom’s….Not for kids. Well not yet any ways…..

Have a nice day all,
Debbie

Hi!
Today was upper body, so I did the PS series: : Back Biceps & Abs, and Chest, Shoulders & Triceps. Cooked my upper body real good!

Have a magical day!
Bita:)

Hi all,

It's been a crazy week and a half for me. 4 days of company, a party then DH's secretary for the day. I have new respect for those of you who can stick to an exercise schedule and work a full time job. I was exhausted! I played tennis for 3 hours this morning. Tough match, but fun. I'll probably have to help out DH some more this week. I have a new respect for how hard he works everyday too. We leave on our ski trip with the youth group Friday. Busy, busy. I'm already looking forward to a more normal week next week. It sounds like everyone is doing great. Debbie, you power woman! Keep impressing those girls of yours.

Gloria

Hi FS - GREAT topic.... Timing was great as i was NOT feeling at all strong and your post really helped! Thx

Yes it is HORRIBLY cold - UGH I dont think spring will ever come this year.

Low energy days. Overall I've been doing pretty good with not working but yesterday was a DOWN day. Thanks God for my kids and health. I love having time to read, workout, relax. I've just had to really SLOW down the job search to once a week rather than daily then it feels like I'm making progress. Fortunately I'm getting nibbles (3 interviews since early Jan)

Stay warm! brrrr

O did S&H legs and shoulders.

Hi Ladies --

Just a real short post before I head out to work. Did Yoga last night (Forward Bends). Otisan, you asked which Yoga tape I'm doing. It's Yoga for Flexibility with Patricia Walden. It's about 82 minutes long -- about 45 minutes for the back bend workout and then the remainder for the forward bends workout. I do them on different days. In both of them, there's a lot of preliminary stretches and vinyashas (my spelling is bad) before you are ready to do the actual forward or back bends. They are tough for me, but I'm improving. My legs are long and it's hard for me to get my nose anywhere near my shin!

Tonight is one of the FIRMS, haven't decided which one yet.

Still sewing. Now I'm on Mary's costume. This one is pretty straightforward. I'm on track to complete this particular costume this week.

Gotta run. My best to all --

Juli

Hi! Hope everyone is doing great.

Andre's Advanced Step for me today.

Have a wonderful day.
Bita:)

Imax today. TOUGH week here - really need to fight off the no job blues. If my body could do it I'd do 5 cathe's a day! I better do a 2nd workout at least

O well at least i have 2 great kids and my health.

Hi all!

This is my third day of cutting almost all starchy carbs from my diet. That fitday.com is quite a tracking tool, I'm having a lot of fun with it. My pie graph has been looking like the Mercedes logo, so I guess I'm adhearing to 30/30/40 ratio. So far I'm sticking to 1300 kcals per day and I feel good. I'm getting back to basics and I want to feel what "calories" are again. It's so easy to underestimate those pesky things. I also jumped on the scale on Monday and wow, I wanted to stamp on it!

The CTX series is going very well. I've been doing it only 1 1/2 weeks and I feel quite a difference. Today I wore a shirt TUCKED IN! :D Tonight's workout is All Step & shoulders.

Wildpony, your DD's are incredibly lucky to have you for a role model. Respecting your health is probably the best advice to pass on to your children.

Robin, good luck with the job search. As it's been posted, it's not you, it's the economy. Remember to keep on keeping healthy and working out. It will really carry you over.

Janice, how do you like Fast Cheetah? When did you get it? Is it like the Hare? I'm glad to see that you're having a good time with the intensity series, I'm going to get that once I'm done with the CTX rotation and the PS rotation. April or May sounds about right.

Bita, hope you're keeping warm!

Waves to everyone! Have a great day :)

Hi girls. Otisan-You go girl! I'm living for the day I can tuck in my shirt and feel good!! I feel like a proud mama! I don't have Fast Cheetah yet-I've got Strong Bear and Steaming Cardio. LOVE them both. This AM I was so tired fron work, having my DS and his family living with us and IMAX2 that I decided to do something different. I did (Firm) Upper Body then 2 sections of 5 day abs(Abs from Vol6 and Vol2YIKES) Made for a very nice hour's workout.

Debbie-You go WONDER WOMAN! You sure have come a long way! Way to go!

Juli-Hi to you. Waves to FS, Fitdoc, Bita, Gloria and others. Must get back to the daily grind so I deserve a paycheck this week. It's been so busy!! Talk to ya'll later and stay warm. Hate to brag but it's almost 64 degrees here today and beautiful. :p

Happy Wednesday!

Today is another 4 mile run and fat burn walk afterwards. I was on Runners World web page last night looking for road races. I think I need to find a 10K to work towards. I also was checking out the 2nd annual Runners World cruise that is in July. I have been thinking that any planned trip I would want to take now must must support my health and fitness lifestyle that I now have. I have never gone on a cruise before and this one sounds like fun. At every port of call that they stop at there is a planned run for all levels. There will be informative speakers and special dinner plans for just this group. I’m not sure if this is something I for sure want to do I’m just exploring some. I do want to run a race again though, they are so much fun and are really helpful to have to push and plan for goal wise. Any ways I’m just thinking aloud.

Thanks you guys for the props about my dd’s w/o . I’m not sure about the role model comments though. I mean unless your mean “roll model” as when I’m trying to execute a stability ball move. ;) I almost sprained my wrist falling off trying to execute the pike maneuver the other day. Oh, well……

Today Stolz is going back to the vet and may get his stitches out. Poor boy he is so used to having to wear a baggie and a scrunchie over his bandages when he goes outside, that he lifts up his foot and places it in the baggie. He has been such a good boy about not biting or tearing his bandage too. Talk about going stir crazy though, I mean he hasn’t been able to run or play hard for almost 2 weeks. You just trying keeping a 85lbs puppy quite for that long and you’ll understand. We all walk around here trying to keep our life down or else he is up and ready. Now it raining though so even if he gets to have his paw free it will be days before he can play outside like he wants. I may have to go for a run in the rain just to let him blow off some steam.

Gloria- How many kids are you spending your weekend with? Don’t forget the bullhorn. ;)

Smiley2- Thanks. Maybe I should charge them. Hmmmmm???

Robyn6002- Hang in there I know its hard. My dh is a consultant for his own LLC, so with us it is usually feast or famine time. Things are looking better than a few months ago really.

Juli- aka pretzel women!! WOW!!!

Bita- I had a question for you. Do you take days off from w/o’s? Lately I have been not taking planned days off rather I have been waiting for my body to tell me it needs a rest. It seem I remember you saying that one of your goals was to w/o every day this month. Did I read that wrong?

Otisan- Fitday was the reason I really got hold of my weight/food issues. I mean I can work out until the cows come home but if I don’t eat correctly I won’t drop a pound. But let me say that I lost a consistent 1and half to 2 pounds a week on a 1400 to 1600 calorie a day meal plan with my ratios being 15-20% fats, 55-65% carbs and 20-25% protein and aiming for 30 plus grams of fiber a day. This worked great for me. Be careful and don’t go to low. I had to increase my calories a couple of times because I hit plateau’s. Don’t become a slave to that damn scale either. Those damn things have a life of their own, believe me. ;)

Hello to everyone else and
have a nice day,
Debbie
