TRANSFORMATION CHALLENGE! CHECK IN 2/1-2/9

Hi girls, and happy Thursday. Gloria-Good!! for you. Big girl push ups are HARD! I've got IMAX2 which I REALLY LOVE! Can't believe that I love a tape that wipes the floor with me but I do. When I got home from work last night DH was in my workout room. OMG! He had painted the ceiling, painted one wall, stripped wallpaper off another wall(HUGE job!) and AND hung new ceiling fan!!!! Dpn't know what I did right but sure am glad I did! I had to workout in Living Room but it'll be so worth it when he's finished!!

My morning torture was Cardiosplit #1. Had to do one that didn't require a lot of equiptment and room. Got it done and that's what counts, right?

Today is going to be a VERY needed rest day! My daughter had hockey this am at 5:30 UGH so we wont be working out together and I really need a day off!

Wow - how are you handling the empty nest situation? I have a son 14 (8th grade) so I have a while but I already am sad about the empty nest situation. We are a VERY CLOSE family - not sure if it because I'm a single Mom or what. I REALLY enjoy the them as teenagers. Even though I'm currently unemployed, every day I count my blessings - my main ones being my kids and having my health!

I got my Pure Strength DVD yesterday.... can't wait till next month!

Last night I did CTX LL. I really like when you've killed your quads with sit-n-stands or low end lunges, she has you do dead lifts. I love those, I can really feel them. Tonight is the Kickbox segment with biceps.

I have a question regarding the barbell. What kind do you have? I got a basic Weider 4-foot bar with plates, but it seems so short now. I had to substitute a dowel for the calf raises. Also, the cincures at the end are woefully inadequate. They keep coming unloosened and my plates keep sliding. A new barbell is a must.

Eating is under control, as is my posture. Those are two major comfort zone slackers! Gloria, I am so proud of your ability to do "big girl" pushups! That must be one of the rewards of the Tank Top rotation you're on. Now I really can't wait to start }(

Janice, your VDH is wonderful! Imagine having a bright, cheerful and cool workout room :) When will you be able to start using it?

Robyn, I have mixed emotions about the coming empty nest. Like you, we're also a close family. All the kids seem to gather here to socialize and that's fine with me. My boys are great kids and they have some really neat friends that I enjoy. My oldest says we're the most Ozzy and Harriet family he knows. I think he means that as a compliment. I'll miss having them around.

On the other hand, won't it be nice to clean the house and have it stay that way for awhile. And how about the laundry? Freedom! I also look forward to being spontaneous with my DH. Take off to the beach, have friends over etc. without working around others. I'm really not worried about staying busy. I do keep getting this little nagging feeling that I should do something more meaningful when the time comes. I'll deal with that later I suppose. Anyway, probably more than you wanted to know. But, you'll be there before you know it. High School goes by so quickly. Enjoy your kids!
 
Gloria-Hpw cool! My kids friends called us the "Walton" family. I always thought that was the ultimate compliment!! My DS is working in Charlotte and I'm having such a problem with the "nest" thing. He's 25 for goodness sakes!! I just REALLY miss him and I'm afraid he's probably going to live there. ;( God! I feel silly but I feel a loss. Anyway, I'm excited to see what DH might have done to my workout room tonight. I've got a picture of Susan Harris from 1986 when she first did Vol#1 of the Firm. That's the first thing I'm hanging on my "new" workout room wall.(Next to my "after" picture) Hugs to all Janice

i did cardio and weights this morning and loved that one too....i wonder which one wil be my favorite??they are all so good!
 
Just a quick post (I'm at work). Did Yoga for Flexibility last night. 45 minutes of Back bends. It's getting easier.

Hi girls. Gloria very interesting! My son would probably LOVE to meet your neice. He is working in the racing industry. He's learning to build the race car bodies for the Nascar type race cars. What does your neice do? I'm going home from work at noon since I don't feel well. I'll check back in with everyone on Monday. Sure hope I'm not coming down with the flu or something like it. Helloooo Ladies,

Yikes!! I missed two days and now I have a novel to read just to catch up. Well I have been a little busy just with normal life things but I have gotten in my new Cathe w/o’s and of course I love them. I have been mixing the Blast rotation with a 4 mile run in between my Cathe’s. So far I have only done M.E. and B.C. and I love them both a lot.

Oh guess what? It is ttom for me but…..I didn’t even know it was coming because no headache showed up for two days before to let me know. Pretty cool huh? No pain is defiantly yes gains. Ha ha ha .

Today is my rest day unless I decide to go for a run.

Janice- Thanks for pep talk. You are right I have come to far to let anything or anybody stop me from being fit and healthy. Don’t worry about your time at HH I know you will have a blast and feel wonderful you too have worked so hard for this so enjoy.

Otisan- First off my tm is a PaceMaster ProElite my Dh researched off the “Runners World” web page to read their annual review of tm and this one was rated “Best Buy” and I love it. Secondly you asked what made me run that extra .25 mile well… I may be showing my age or my maturity level or both but it was “Highway to Hell”. Hey I had to do it.

Gloria- I’m sure you are busy now with all your party preparations. Have fun and try to enjoy yourself. Congrats on the big girl push ups.

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday was a planned rest day. I had to measure one of my bridesmaids for her dress and we had a great time catching up. I didn't get home until 2:00am! :+

Today I'm doing CTX Kickbox with biceps. Those power scissors look scary, but the rest looks good. Saturday is 10-10-10 and triceps and then I start the whole thing over again. Next week I might do legs first, then chest, back, shoulders, bi's & tri's. The strange thing is I didn't feel a thing after doing LL, but all the other weights (chest, back & shoulders) left me sore in immobile :p Perhaps I need a heavier barbell. I'll give that a try on Sunday.

Juli, what yoga tapes are you doing? Gosh, I haven't done a backbend since I was in the 3rd grade, you must feel so empowered! Hard to believe that just over a month ago, you said you needed help on your flexibility. Keep it up!

Janice, I hope you're feeling better. Don't let yourself get run down and get lots of rest. You're going to need it :)

Debbie, I'm glad that your headaches have gone away and that the meds are working. How is your energy level? Are you reclaiming any of your old stamina? Keep us informed, I'm praying for you.

Michelle, did you get your ebay VCD's yet? I'm still waiting x(

Good day! I'm doing the body blast rotation! I have one month before I need to be in a bathing suit. Had a rest day yesterday. (Another cold virus from that &$%* petrie dish we call the Pediatric Emergency Department!) I really enjoyed Muscle Endurance this morning:evil

Hi everyone... Wow we got over a foot of snow today - but it's nice and light.

I actually finally took a rest day yesterday and felt so much better today. I did Imax - just love that tape.

Tomorrow I have to do the final S&H - tricep and bicep. Would love to either get in Lean Leg or a CTX cardio today or tomorrow. Depends on how the shoveling goes!

HELLLLLLLOOOOOOOO TC'S!We got another 5 inches of snow today.It is the fluffy stuff so i didn't take me long to shovel.I took a nice hot shower and having a nice cold mudslide now.So,if you can't understand any words.You know whyLOL:p This morning i fought with myself to get up.I forced myself to get up and do PH this morning.Haven't done that workout that much and it's been awhile since i've done it.My legs were shaking and my arms were dying.Great workout.I accomplished my goal for five morning workouts this week.Tomorrow i'm squeezing in MC before we go to the Bruins game.

I love going to the Bruins game with my DF.We always have fun.Getting up early tomorrow morning and doing food shopping.Sunday i'm spending the day cooking and cleaning.Have to prepare my meals and do hard workouts for next week.Friday is Valentine's day!!!!Goldengirl,you must be getting really excited for your FP weekend.I'm so jealous!!!

Good Saturday to you All,

Today is a running day for me I will put in at least another 4 miles today. Then I will do my fat burning ceiling walk. I’m starting to really get back into my running stride, so to speak. Hey does anyone else have rug burns on their elbows from the twisty planks thingies? You know the ones where you hold your plank pose on your elbows/side of arm, and twist down with your top arm to the ground. Or maybe its from the twisty normal planks but where you dip your hip to the ground. I don’t know which one its from but I defiantly have serious rug burn issues. I really love all those planks though aren’t they fun?
