Cathlete
We have completed month one of or TC challenge. This week's topic is:

COMFORT ZONE:
We all have our comfort zones that we try to change or just feel comfortable staying there. It's time for us to step out of our comfort zone with baby steps.Jan was a beginning month for us with our first set of goals. It's time to challenge ourselves in areas. You will find that some goals you will continue to work on.That what is called our "Comfort Zone".Some habits are harder to break then others. We need to focus on what goals need the most work.Focus on a game plan and work on accomplishing those goals one step at a time.

Time to challenge ourselves in our workouts even it is only going up one weight. For ex: adding a 1/2lb 0r 1lb to your barbell. You know what areas you can challenge yourselves. We know chaning our eating habits takes a life time of learning and experminting. We need to do baby, baby steps in this area.I know that is my biggest challenge.I have a list of goals for this month.I'm very excited about this months challenge.I'm ready to make changes and work hard.My main three goals for Feb is:
-workout 5 morning without hitting the snooze button
-eat a sensible dinner
-do some house work daily.

GOOD LUCK TRANSFORMATION CHALLENGERS:LET THE CHALLENGE:CHALLENGE

Good Saturday Fellow Fitness Queens!!!

Today I am going to get in at least a 4 mile run, ab work and a fat burning walk on Burner.

Other than that I’m trying to get used to my new bp meds. I find that an afternoon nap is helping. I know that this will pass and I will not have to rely on naps. Sort walking around hazy though at least for now. My w/o’s sure help shake out the foggy groggies though.

Have a nice Saturday all,
Wild Pony aka: Debbie

LuvCardio- We try and focus on at least one objective a month but have different topics every week. We try to check in every day, as we can. This group has been together since last Jan. and all are wonderful supportive women who through hell or high water support each other. Please join us we would love to have you. :) Our w/o’s are individual although everyone does Cathe to one extent or another. I mean duh!!! ;) It might be a little slower here on weekends as some only have internet access at work. Hope this helps and hope you join us.

Can you all believe it is Feb. already!!!Time goes so fast..its scary!Getting out of the comfort zone-thats a good plan.I should be getting my intenstity series soon and with summer around the corner i am ready for a challenge.I didnt have time to post yesterday..i did Imax ..i have been doing this 2 times a week and boy do you feel accomplished when you get done!today was powerhour and prob.a 4 mile powerwalk.Have a good day everyone!!

Hi everyone,
I did PH today, which is my least favorite. It just seems so fast, but I did it! Have a great weekend!

Hi all,

Comfort Zone huh. I'm sure guilty of that. I definately need to bump it up a notch to move my results along quicker. I added 5 lbs to my barbell this morning during PH. I may hate you for this one tomorrow Firmscorpio!lol I couldn't do all the exercises with the added weight but even a few count right? For Feb. I've decided to add things instead of trying to take away things. I'm adding a multivitamin, 40 oz. of water and an extra fruit each day. I feel good about my exercise so I'm sticking with the tank top rotation awhile longer. On the homefront I plan to get ds's room organized. Wish me luck on that one.

I'm sure we've all got the NASA families on our mind and in our prayers. Such a sad day.

Gloria

Hi ladies,

With the prayers for the astronauts and their families.

Otisan, Happy Chinese new year to you.

I love any excuses to pray! I hope this year brings peace, wisdom, joy and happiness around the world. May we all learn to respect each other's beauty and uniqueness and love each other for those differences. And learn to live in this beautiful planet by each other. I saw the "Space Station" in the science center couple of weeks ago. I loved it when an astronaut mentioned how beautiful it was to see the earth from above. How there was no way of telling which country ended and which country started, no way of seeing borders. All one! Anyway....

FS, thanks for the challenge message, to leave the comfort zone.

It was DH's birthday and one of his wishes was to camp, and so we did camp last night in this beautiful state park. I got to hike and run today in the heavenly nature. It was beautiful. The cabin was warm and nice thank goodness. Some comfort zone to come back to!

Feb goals for me are again, exercise every day, read 4 hours a day, see positive in everything and I add up one more thing to challenge myself and that would be to smile a little more!

Take best care and have a wonderful night.
Bita:)

It's February already! Where does the time go? This month I'm planning my food intake better. Sundays are a good day to plan the week's meals and prepare as many as possible. Tomorrow I'm making a big container of pomegranite yogurt. Extracting the pomegranite seeds is a chore, but they are so tasty!

On the workout front, I've decided to ditch the Lablover's workout. There are just too many tapes I don't have (I refuse to buy "parts" tapes), and I've been on such a Cathe kick anyway. Today's workout is PH, but I'm thinking about adding some cardio intervals from CTX (and a warmup!).

Bita, I love your description from the astronaut, how inspiring!

Have a great first day of February!

I know there are two Gloria's.I'm assuming this is you Goldengirl for hating me for you barbell?LOL!You crack me up:p Do you have small weight plates?1/2,1,2 1/2?5lbs is alot to add.I did that once.I was doing TT.I couldn't do all the military presses.I thought i was going to fall over.I bought 1/2,1 1/4,2 1/2lbs plate weights.I'm increasing my barbell by 1lb to start.Did Strong Bear today. What a unique workout.I really enjoyed it.Love the inner thigh work.I know i'm going to feel it tomorrow. We accomplished all of our cleaning today.Tomorrow is another day of cleaning.:-(

Good Sunday Morning All,

Yesterday we had a an unexpected twist. Stolz my GS dog somewhere in the yard at DD’s home found something and cut one of his paw pads pretty deeply. He was over visiting with DD’s GS, Daisy for the afternoon. Any ways Dh had to drive him down the mountain through the fog to the Vets. Stolz had to get a few stitches and was a dopey druggy boy the rest of the night. Poor little dude. Okay at 85 lbs not so little but still a baby, he will be one year on the 16th of this month. He will go back to the Dr. early next week but until then he has to wear a baggie around his bandages when he goes outside. Dogs are like kids and husbands when they are ill, pitiful.

Any hoo, today is MIS and an hour fat burning walk. BTW boy do I notice a difference in my fat burning walks since starting on these meds. Since it is a program on TM that keeps me in my fat burning target zone working with my HM monitor and increases speed or incline or both to keep me there. Well now my meds are trying to keep me more mellow in that respect. So Burner has me walking at the full incline of 10% and blasting my walking speed as high as the default will go too. Yesterday after a 4 mile run I was too pooped to walk the entire hour at the pace and incline that Burner wanted. As a result I only walked for about half the time I had planned. Altogether though I burned 630 calories with run and walk so it wasn’t all wasted. Hey I might end up burning more fat since I’m going to have to work harder to get into my zone. That is the half full glass perspective. ;)

Have a nice Sunday all,
Debbie

Debbie, sorry the meds are making you work harder. You could be right about burning more fat! Working harder is working harder, regardless what the HRM says. How does the medication make you feel otherwise?

Gloria, what is the tank top rotation? Sounds interesting! My wedding dress is going to have a tank top, so I might be keen on that rotation!

Right now I've decided to start the CTX workouts for a month. Today's workout was Power Circuit, which I loved. I couldn't get over how HARD those planks were. The coreography was wonderful and, of course, challenging! Tomorrow I'm going to do Step & Intervals so I can target the chest. I'm wierd like that, I have to "even" out the opposing muscle groups or I feel lopsided.

Now that the workout is over, DF & I are going shopping to get the necessary food to have a clean eating week. Chicken breasts, lots of veggies, yogurt and decaf oolong tea are going to be the staples of the weekly planning.

Has anyone heard from that groundhog? The weather is surprisingly nice, I hope it stays like this!

otisan..when are you getting married?Congrats!! Today is my scheduled rest day so i just did a 4 mile walk....see everyone tommorrow!

Hi guys,
Hope you are all doing well.

All I could fit in today was Cathe's Pyramid lower body and 15 min. of Shiva Rea's Yoga Chant.

Take best care.
Bita:)

First of all, there's only one Gloria Firmscorpio, unless I've really not been paying attention. Of course, my DH might disagree with that since I can get another personality around TTOM. Former Squeezeit-Gloria, Goldengirl is Janice. We do both live in Georgia though. Funny.

Debbie, the full incline and 630 calories! I've never done the full incline on my tm. You must be a mellow mama. Give poor Stoltz a kiss for me.

Otisan the tank top rotaion is really great. Copied from the ya-ya site.

Marlene123’s Tank Top Arms Rotation

Editor’s Note: This has been one of the most popular rotations of Spring 2002, and it comes from Forum regular Marlene123. In a year’s time Marlene has lost 27 pounds and become lean and cut. Here’s how she achieved real “tank top arms”:

“Here is my current rotation which I have been doing for 10 weeks. I plan to do two more weeks of this, then two to three weeks of Slow & Heavy and then back again. I have had such incredible success with this rotation that I hate to let it go even for a few weeks but I know I must to cause some muscle confusion.
Anyway, here it is (and I admit, it's a killer):
Day #1: Pure Strength Chest, Back, Shoulders, Biceps, Triceps
Day #2: CTX Leaner Legs
Day #3: CTX Shoulders, Biceps, Triceps plus cardio
Day #4: Cardio
Day #5: MIS
Day #6: Cardio
Day #7: Cardio or rest
As you can see, this routine works shoulders, biceps and triceps three times per week, chest and back twice and legs twice. I do abs 4-5 times per week as well
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I have to switch my days around a little and I don't do all of the cardio but it seems to be working for me. I wore a skirt to church today that was too tight the last time I tried it on. It may be just what you need for that wedding dress.

Smiley, just a 4 mile walk on a rest day it pretty doggone good I'd say!

DH and I played tennis today.(I won, but know better than to rub it in)We walked the dog too. It's been a gorgeous day.

Hi to all of you,

Gloria
The one and only

Hey Everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

REALLY good week for me last week

S - Power Hour
M - IMAX
T - Power Hour
W - 10-10-10
T - Power Hour
F - IMAX
S - Lean Leg

-

Really seeing the results! Last month was totally out of the comfort zone! I lost my job at the begining of the month so have been working out with a vengence and keeping my spirits positive!

I just LOVE IMAX now and before I avoided it at all costs.

______

I think I really like this roation
3 weeks S&H (and 3 days cardio)
1 week Power Hour (and 2 days IMAX) and 1 Cardio
1 week Circuit max (3) and 3 cardio
1 Week Power HOurs (2 days IMax and 1 cardio) and Lean Legs

_

Started on the S&H - did shoulder and leg yesterday - the only bad thing last week I didnt have a rest day so have to get this in. My daughter is going to start doing 1/2 hr cardio with me 3 days aweek (the days she doesnt have sports) so I just have to be sure I dont burn out with 2 cardios. We shall see

Today I may do IMAX then kick box in the pm - I just have to watch the burn out

Have a great week all!

Good Monday All,

Well today is another 4 mile run, ab hits w/o and then fat burning walk on Burner. Although I hope to preview my new Cathe DVD’s tonight if the UPS guy gets here on time. I’m still dragging myself through my w/o’s because of the BP meds. I’m getting them in though and that’s what counts.

Thanks for all the well wishes for my dog Stolz. He still has a catch in his get along but is feeling better. We looked all over dd’s yard to see what he cut himself on but to no avail. He is such a huge galoot and his 4 limbs still work independently. He is funny to watch he reminds me of Scooby Do the way he runs. I know since he is not quite a year old it will be awhile before he grows into his large body. In the mean time he is a laugh riot.

Oh one more thing. This weekend DH was experimenting with dinner and baked up some Mahi mahi with pineapples, dried cranberries, capers, and pine nuts. OMG!!! It was soooo good. Very low cal too. Just had to share.

Have a nice day all,
Debbie

Otisan- My BP meds have me starting out slowly in the mornings sort of hung overish feeling. I am fighting sleep all day and having to really push myself to get through my w/o’s. I know this won’t last or if it does I will see if there is another type of medicine to take. First I think I will give it some time though. Hey I didn’t have to sleep yesterday until 4 pm so that was better. ;)

Gloria- Mellow isn’t the word, try comatose! Remember in “One flew Over the Coo Coo’s Nest” at the end with Jack Nickleson? Yeah that’s pretty much me these days. ;)

Robyn- Talk about a kick butt routine!! Wow! I’m impressed. Sorry to hear about your job. Hope that everything works out for you. Congrats on getting your DD to work out with you. Since we have gotten our TM, “Burner” for X-mas both my dd who are active anyways are using it too. Us 3 girls have decided to run at least a 5K race sometime this year. I would love to do a 10K I used to run them often (back in the day). The girls still aren’t convinced that running is as much fun for them as it is for me though. We’ll see though I might be able to sneak them to my dark side before to long. (place evil laugh here)

Hi! Hope everyone is doing wonderful.
I did pyramid lower body today. I heard the new two fitprimes are being shipped! More fun!
Have a beautiful day!
Bita:)

oops, I meant I did the pyramid upper body today! Hmmm, I need some yoga to calm me down!:) It's way too busy today!
Take care.
Bita

This morning i got out of my comfort zone and my nice warm comfie bed.I did vol 1 this morning.First, time i've worked out on a Monday morning this year. That is one of my goals. Now,to work on my comfort eating zone.Need serious help with this.We had snow yesterday.About 4-6 more inches.Today was in the 40's.I can not wait till spring.

Gloria, sorry for the mix up.For some reason i thought there was two.
Wildpony,hope you feel better soon.

Hi girls,

Today's wo was cardio from the Wedding video + Shoulders, biceps and triceps from the CTX tapes. Eating is on track for a change.

Debbie, how nice to have a chef in the family. The fish recipe sounded great.

Firmscorpio, good for you getting out of bed on a freezing morning. I know that takes some willpower. I hope the Ga. groundhog was right when he predicted an early spring.

Robyn, wow! That's some rotation. How old is your daughter?

Janice? Where are you? I hope your back isn't still bothering you.

Have a good night all,
Gloria
