I am not going by train, but it sounds like a good idea. Where do you live?
I am flying. I live in western Michigan. I booked a flight back on March 23 - now Northwest Airlines is having tons of cancellations! I never thought of taking an Amtrack. I might look into that if my flight is cancelled. Hopefully, if they do cancel my flight, I will know early enough to even be able to take a fllight the day before or something.

I am flying NWA also and am getting very nervous! I keep checking every day to see if MY specific flight ever gets canceled and soo far, it has just been delayed an hour. That makes me nervous too as I have a connection in Detroit! Oh boy! Good Luck and I hope it remains as scheduled for you.
