Hi Guys ~

Wanted to see what everyone purchases at Trader Joe's. I am planning on taking a trip tomorrow afternoon.

Please list your faves for me.
Do they have any good/healthy smoothies their?

TIA -

I LOVE Trader Joe's! It's like the walmart of Whole Foods! Such great prices. I buy lots of nuts there. Their sushi is great. Oh I don't know I buy lots of stuff there.

I love Trader Joe's. They are just starting to open stores here in MN and I am so happy. Great prices. I love their raw almond butter, their produce, cereal. I usually find a bunch of stuff there.

Hi Runnergirl,

I am going to the King of Prussia (Devon) one.
I haven't decided if I will be going tomorrow at lunch, or wait until Saturday. Probably Saturday, b/c I hate to rush and I only get 1hr for lunch...I work in Malvern.

I try and do 90+% of my shopping at TJs. Love them! ***BUT*** be very careful with their produce. Look hard at what you're buying- sometimes the dates are long past and yet the bags are still on the shelves. (I've found this to be true at each of the 4 near me.)

I sometimes go through phases where I try to buy something new and less than $3 each time I go. LOL, it's fun! :+

My favorite in winter is "Just Mango Slices" they are in the dried fruit section. They are unsweetened which can be hard to find, and are yummy when fresh fruit is slim-pickin's. We also like the berry muffins. They are the huge ones and come in a 4 pack, so I end up freezing some.

Have fun!!

I'm a Trader Joe's junkie. And, if you bring your own bag or buy one of their reusable bags, they'll enter you in a drawing for $25 worth of free groceries! Which I'd use to buy:

nuts (I live on 50% reduced salt mixed nuts)
chili lime peanuts
TJ's natural peanut butter
pitted oil cured black olives
Greek yogurt
Sprouted wheat and/or multigrain bread (way low carb!)
Hummus (horseradish flavor is yummy)
cheeses - great selection and prices
grilled rosemary balsamic chicken (in the meat section)
frozen chicken tenders
frozen fish
frozen raspberries
frozen spinach lasagna
frozen asparagus
frozen french green beans
Vanilla almond high fiber cereal
Arugula (though I agree about their produce - check the date)
whole bean coffee

You'll love it!

This may not come as a surprise given my signature quote, but TJ's has awesome chocolate! The "pound-plus" bars (1 lb, 1 oz) are very high quality (70% cacao--dark, dark, silky flavor--melt it and dip strawberries in it. Wonderfully easy dessert in the summer) The milk chocolate ones (either plain or with almonds) are great too. The bars are usually located over the frozen food section in my store, not sure about other stores. Here's the best part, they cost less than $4 per bar. Okay, so maybe they aren't healthy but working out to Cathe should have some rewards, right??

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.:D :D :p

I buy lot's of stuff there, but I'll tell you their frozen chinese food is awesome. Not super healthy, but way better than any take out chinese. I get the fried rice, veggie egg rolls and general tso's chicken (which you bake) Way good if your in the mood for chinese.
Love it!!

I love Trader Joe's. There is one that is about 45 minutes away from my house.

I go there every once and a while to stock up!

I love the 3 dollar bottles of Chuck Shaw.

I love their almond butter, unsalted of course.

I also love their wheat cinnamon raison English muffins.

I must say that the prices are a little cheaper than Whole Foods. I love both places.

The Trader Joe brand is great. I even love their shampoos and conditioners.

:)

The Chuck Shaw is great! I used to get it when I lived in CA. Now that I am in PA, they can't sell it in the store.

I buy their brown rice medley, almond meal, their store brand peanut butter both chunky & smooth with salt. I also buy mexican vegetarian burgers. Then I wander the isles & just pick. Oh, the most important purchase is giradelli chocolate that is broken up & plastic wrapped.

I usually buy the Organic Reduced Sugar jams, strawberry and blueberry are delicious! Their parm is great. Their price on ww couscous is the best I've seen. We tried their spelt berries w/bell peppers (cannot remember actual name) and it was great, my 5 y/o dd loved it :) They have a great selection of ww pastas. And so many fun bottled sauces to try! And the ww honey pretzels. Oh boy! I don't have a TJ's closer than 1+ hour away so I cannot get as much stuff I'd like.

Have fun shopping!
