Tracy Anderson DVD's- anyone?

Okay, I've heard the interesting tidbits about her life, I'm just interested in whether anyone has tried her Mat workout DVD? If you have tried it what were your results? These days I'm into going for lighter weights and more reps. Thanks for any responses.

Not Tracy DVDs, but...

I don't have Tracy's workouts, but if you're looking for lighter weight/higher rep workouts, I can recommend Jari Love's workouts. She's got four videos out with a new one (or more) coming out soon.

I ordered the Mat workout and have since previewed it but have not done it. She does standing leg work with a chair that looks pretty good.

Then she goes into this weird "standing ab" work, where she just basically shakes her booty and hips in front of the camera. This goes on for what seems like ever.

Then she moves on to this arm sequence where she does random arm movements for 8 counts each but doesn't cue what the next move will be

The rest is some weighted arm work and some floor leg work and abs.

She didn't impress me a lot upon previewing, but I haven't done it yet. I might just try out the leg work and see what I think. There's no way I even want to do that dumb standing ab work or the weirdo arm sequence.

Bottom line, I don't think that I like this DVD that much but to be fair, I haven't actually done it yet.

There are a couple of threads on VF about it if you want to read some other people's views. There are lots of people who like it.

I had it and just sold it on the Ya-Ya's.

Here's why I got rid of it: I absolutely cannot stand Tracy. The DVD has a soft porn feel to it. She refers to how "tiny" we are going to be. She says things like, "your arms should be KILLING you now". She does not cue at all. The funky standing ab routine is just plain weird. I would never do this workout with anyone around, I would feel so silly. She says never to use more than three pounds. She recommends doing the workout 4-6 times per week (plus cardio!) for best results.

I kept trying to justify this purchase, but I could not. The workout isn't that good (had zero DOMS and I'm a quicker DOMS'er) and the cons definitely outweighed the pros. In a word: Not a fan.
