Tracie Long

Do you consider her advanced? I liked her in Tortoise and the Hare, but tried one of the Fitprimes with her, think it was Strong Bear. I have fast Cheetah as well, but it's weird for me with one person in front of the mirror...

What are your thoughts on this? Advanced enough for a Cathe fanatic or? TIA

Have you checked out these http://tracielongtraining.com/ Tracie Long Training has 4 DVD's. Tracie instructs Endurance for Movement and Better Burn Better Buns. I have all 4 and they are a bit different than Cathe and not quite as advanced but I do enjoy them more than any Firm...:)

I like Tracy Long's new DVD's also, for a little less w/o.

I would consider Tracey advanced..just not quite as difficult as Cathe's workouts. I really like her old Fitprimes as well as the TLT's The exercises are creative and challenging. She's one of my favs

Tracie's new stuff is quite different. I use the TLT's for a light day. They work a lot more on balance, which is good. The heaviest weights used are up to 10 pounds.

I have none of the Fitprimes, and will probably buy no more TLT's as the style does not suit me. I will keep what I have and use it because light work-outs are good to have.

Hi,

I really like Tracie's teaching style.
I have two of the TLT's and they are challenging in a different
way than Cathe. Not quite as advanced in my opinion but still good
workouts for posture, balance and endurance. I have Endurance
for Movement and Better Burn Better Buns. Both of these really
do get the hamstrings and lower body in a different way and a
good amount of core work from different angles. I am keeping
them both.

I think the TLT's are advanced in a different way from Cathe. They challenge balance, and the small stabilizing muscles that are often ignored when pumping heavy weights.

They are perfect, IMO, to use every 3 weeks or so as a pre-hab type workout, then when you come back to more traditional weight training, you are stronger and more injury resistant.

It's surprising how challenging some small muscle exercises can be using a weenie 3# weight!

Tracie Long is nowhere near the instructor of Cathe Friedrich's calibre.

I have met Tracie and found her to be a very cold, distant individual.

One time on a Firm Roadtrip a group of exercisers who WORSHIPPED her walked into a restaurant where she and some other Firm instructors were dining.

She rolled her eyes and WALKED OUT!

I don't care for her style of instruction either. She's about dry as the desert.

She lacks Cathe's warmth, concern, and most of all her overall choreography and instructional style.

Jen Carmen is in the same category as Tracie.

I do like Allie Del Rio, Heidi Tanner, and Susan Harris though.

They are really nice instructors -- and when I worked out with them in person, they were lots of fun.

I just wish Anna Benson had not had Susan Harris make all those noises that sound like a porn film in Vol. One.

Susan's voice is nothing like that!

I love Tracie Long and her workouts. The TLT's are advanced workouts but very different from Cathe or traditional workout routines. The more I've done these the harder they get and the more worked out I feel. All 4 TLT's are my very best non-Cathe workout purchase!

I love Tracie Longs 4 new DVDs.The more you do them and become familiar with that type of "functional movement" the better workout you get.My favorite way of using these workouts is to do a double day with them and one of Cathes(it is hard for me to feel like I have really hit it hard without Cathe) or with the P90X workouts. For instance I may do "Endurance for movement" or "strength in movement" with one of Cathes fullbody workouts or split routines."Finding your core" or "Core strength" (from her TLP days) with one of Cathes circuit workouts."Better burn better buns" is fun to tag on with Kickmax or even Lowmax. Will her workouts leave you gasping for air?....probably not .What they have the potential to do is realign your posture, strengthen those small ,not so often used stabilizing muscles and provide better balance and more coordination in a way that is fun and effective without being overly grueling.Just my two cents ,hope it helps!

I agree with Kathryn, they are advanced but in a different way. I believe even Tracie still does some traditional weight training as well yoga and running. I like intermingling them with traditional weight lifting, Cathe Cardio, and stretching; that way all my bases are covered.
