All this is very good and very helpful - hopefully something will work.
Can I endorse the TIN FOIL - that one is a definite deterrent.
Also no-one has suggested leaving some food (in a bowl(s) - I don't mean pour it directly onto the area). They shouldn't mess in the vicinity with food. Again I'm suggesting this as a deterrent - not a menu item.
The only nagging doubt I have though is that you mentioned your suspicion that the dining room rug is now soiled - so maybe she is prepared to find new sites regardless, whenever a favourite is taken out of play.
I'd lock her out for a while if it were me (tough love) - but then maybe that would only be a short-term fix until she had a new issue to act out about. She does seem very determined.
Good luck with this one but don't make yourself penniless and a matyr to it.
