Too much cardio?

This is my fourth time doing STS....I always had good results....but this time because of injuries I have not been able to run and have had to do just the cardio Cathe recommends in the STS rotation....and I am having much better results this time. How much is too much cardio?

Congrats on your results! That's great!

I'm not a pro here, but I would say you know best what your body can handle. I personally believe Cathe's rotations are spot on; 3 days of strength + 3 days cardio + 1 day of rest. Any more than that, and you might risk over-training. If you want to add more cardio in addition to your Cathe cardio's, I would recommend walking. You can never take enough steps! Also, walking is a great way to add low impact exercise, burn calories, release lower body tension you might be experiencing from STS legs, and is just plain ol' wonderful for mental clarity and stress release. Very underestimated, but man it works like a charm!

I'm wondering if you are not eating less because of the decrease in cardio. I know when I last had my leg in a cast I had the same experience of strength gains (upper body) and no real weight gain.

Thank you for your responses.....I love my results so far and I encourage anyone who needs a boost(or a shock) to mix different amounts and types of cardio with STS and see what happens

Repo, we're you using the Shock Cardio Workouts with STS? Just curious. I haven't seen any posts about results from that rotation.
 
For what it's worth - here are my experiences with STS. I have done STS 4 times, the last time I did the 5.5 month rotation (loved it!). The first 2 times I did when STS came out and the shock cardio hadn't come out yet. I got much better results doing STS with shock cardio (both the 3.5 and 5.5 rotations) compared to the first 2 times. Now this could be because it was the first 2 times doing STS, but I do think it was also because of the STS cardio workouts. I am sure I gained muscle and lost fat because though I didn't lose much weight, I was able to wear pants that previously I only fit into when I was 15 lbs lighter.

My next go around with STS is going to be with LIS and crossfire/to the max I think.
