I think you could still get great results using a rotation designed yourself, as long as you followed similar principles (don't do the weight days back to back, don't over do on cardio, etc.). I know that some folks subbed in Cathe cardio on either Plyo day (one of the IMAX's would do well here, or LoMax if high impact is an issue), and on Kenpo day - this would be trivial to do. Were you thinking of using Cathe weight work as well? I'm sure you could create a rotation where you used Cathe for weights - maybe do a week of Cathe for strength, followed by a week of X, for example.

I'd highly recommend the series - I can't say enough about it. It's the best thing I've ever come across, and I can't wait to get back to a second rotation. It's killing me to take time off from it!

Sounds like something I could definitely work with. I could at least try to follow the rotation and if I can't, I can always sub something as long as I stick to the basic plan. Once I get familiar, I can mess around with how to throw Cathe stuff in the mix.
Thanks!

I will second and third everything everyone has had to say about the P90x series here. I'm still amazed at the progress I have made in doing this program. And, as Kathryn said, Tony's coaching style really encourages you to push yourself to your personal best. My attitude towards lifting has changed so much, now I am so much more likely to go for the heavy weights and squeak out 8-10.

And TH and P90x are quite possibly the only things out there that could have made me LIKE yoga as much as I do now.

Sparrow,

Don't even get me started on YogaX! :) I had done, and actually enjoyed, yoga in the past, but always felt guilty about "wasting" a workout day on it, so I rarely did it. Now, I ALWAYS get in my yoga, and preferably, YogaX! In addition to just ADORING that workout, the importance of flexibility training finally sunk in, and I'm a total convert. That's the ONE workout I will NOT miss every week, no matter what!

M,

I had never liked yoga and for the first few months of owning p90x I just did cardio on the yoga day! But then I thought, if I love p90x so much, I should at least attempt the yoga, so I did and now I LOVE IT!!!! Today I didn't have time to do the whole 90 minutes (could only do 60) and I was soooo bummed. Yay, yogaX!!! :D

It is really all that, indeed. And then some!!!

The only equipment you need are a variety of dumbbells, and a mat (yoga mat). To get the full benefit of the back workouts, you'll also either need a chin-up bar solution, or alternatively (and VERY effective!), a set of good bands and some way of attaching them (either door attachment, or hook high on wall, etc.).

I finished my first X Classic rotation 2 weeks ago, and today did MuscleMax for the first time in over 3 months. I recall that I used to think this workout was fairly challenging. Today, I finished and thought "what a nice little workout for an easy day!" I used more weight than Cathe for everything except legs (I'm not doing super heavy leg work - I learned from the X that my legs respond much better with body weight or lighter weights for legs), and breezed through the workout. It was fun, and I got a good workout in, but it was not terribly challenging.
