Tony Horton reviews anyone??

My opinions...

I have the 10 min trainers and while I think they're pretty good for a quick workout (the 10 min abs is my fav), I'd go for Power 90 or P90X (P90X being my favorite!).

I think Tony is funny and love his workouts. Some people find him annoying, but I like him.

Let me know if you have any more questions about any Beachbody workouts, I have a lot of them!

I agree with Jess about Tony. I love him too but yes, he seems to be a love him or hate him kind of guy. LOL I have or have had several of the Beach Body work outs myself. P90X is my fave too. I don't have the 10 minute trainers though.

the catch

Hi,
I bought the 10 minute trainer because I was trying to recover from a 3 week cold. Couldn't do P90X because I felt too weak ( was at week 9 already too...which really bugs me ) and figured why not?
It comes with a rotation that recommends 3 workouts/day. At first it seems easy enough but by the 7th day it starts to get you. particularly because I didn't want to do the same cardio routine that often, even if it is only 10 minutes. My solution is to add extra cardios just to trick myself into thinking it isn't exactly the same routine. It is a good 10 minute cardio though.
The total body moves a tad too fast, and if that is supposed to be the strength training portion, it's hard to swallow that it would do anything. The leg routine won't fix heavy thighs overnight either. I think the only way that this routine would produce results is if you did the 3 workouts/day and followed the 1,000 to 1,200 calorie diet that they suggest.
Technically, who wouldn't lose weight on a 1000 calorie diet?

IMHO I could take or leave Tony and the 10 Minute Trainer series. I bought the series before I found Cathe's workouts and did each one twice (I believe) before I lost interest. Tony's sense of humor on the series just didn't appeal to me, as Jess said above... guess you love him or... i wouldn't go as far as to say I hate the workouts, but I just didn't dig 'em... and while you get exercise in short little bursts, unless you did them 3 plus times a day (talk about repitition and getting bored with the same workouts quickly) to total more than 30 minutes of any physical activity, I can't see where they would do a whole lot of good on their own. Definately could be incorporated into a well rounded weekly or monthly rotation though.

as a side note: I didn't go into any depth or read all the stuff that came with my TMT set... but I thought it was a HUGE NO NO to EVER go below 1200 calories no matter who you are, so it surprises me that they would advocate anything that was below that 1200 cal level... I am by no means a nutrition expert though... A lot of long time posters here are even encouraging eating more with intense weight or HIIT workouts...
