Toddler Shoes

Hi ladies,
Yesterday I went to the mall to purchase a new sneakers for my son. To my dismay, there was not one kiddie shoe store. Whatever happened to Buster Brown and all those stores for kids? My son is 15 months old and he's pretty tall for his age. He is size 8C or 8 wide in toddlers. I'd like to get him boots and all before the bad weather comes. Do you know of any good places online and off where I can check it out? Also, is it me or are footwear for kids except for Wal-Mart and KMart are ridiculously expensive?

Your right they are very expensive and the kids are not in them very long. However, I seem to have a thing for kids shoes and I can't resist buying them anyway. Websites to checkout - Nordstroms.com kidsnshoes.com, famousfootwear.com, kidsfootlocker.com, landsend.com and llbean.com. Also, striderite has a website and local stores depending on where you live. JC Pennys and Macys occasionally have good shoes on sale. Have fun!

We buy all our kids' shoes at Payless. That is the only reasonably priced ones we can find around, sometimes at Mervyn's. THe other ones are ridiculously priced.

I second Mervyn's. They are good quality shoes (comfy and bendable - good for new walkers) and the prices are decent. WOW!!! Your 15 month old has huge feet! My two year old is only in 6's!!!! ;)
