I am watching her, and for all of you who can, I would get my butt to the tv. She has a doctor on who is comparing organs of healthy/unhealthy people. It is very eye opening!

When I watched Oprah it was ending. I know those last 15-20 minutes were eye opening. I know they have re-runs at 1:00am eastern right? I'm trying to figure out when I can watch this program in its entirety or find a transcript over the internet.

My sister called me to tune in!! I am glad I did!! I was really amazed those two women on the show????? I mean NEVER to drink water??? I'd go crazy if I could'nt have my water!!

I felt so happy when I watched it, and very proud if I don't say so myself! For dinner I had planned spaghetti with 1 whole onion in the sauce (cut fresh), garlic and olive oil added, whole wheat spaghetti pasta, and broccoli and cauliflower. And that was before I watched the show! I was surprised to see that everything I was making was cancer fighting! I even felt less guilty about the chocolate I ate because it has caffiene. THANK YOU OPRAH! You have freed me!

I caught part of that last night...must have been the rerun of it. It was interesting...that's for certain!

I missed the first 15 first minutes, but I watched the rest...in horror because of the way I use to eat and I still have some improving to do. This just adds to my mental pictures of why I wouldn't want to eat crap anymore. I still have protein bars and stuff that is not in their unprocessed state, but I like to be real too as I am careful. :) After watching the show and seeing the colons of a few scares the heck out of me because my father had a polp removed. His brother had colon cancer and had alot of his colon removed. And my dad's Aunt had colon cancer as well. That is alot! I am going to get my colon checked soon as I am going to call the doctor's today and see when I can get it done.
I know I need to drink more O.J. You can buy the kind with Splenda in it too.

A real eye opener for me. I was eating my boiled chicken breast while Dr. Oz discussed how meat just rots in your gut. Needless to say, I didn't finish all my chicken.

Charlotte~~

I only saw bits and pieces of the show. I thought it was interesting when he said that African Americans have an spf of 500 (?) on their skin! Wonder what it is for Hispanics...

" I was eating my boiled chicken breast while Dr. Oz discussed how meat just rots in your gut."

I did not see that part, Charlotte! I don't blame you for not finishing your chicken! That is NASTY!!!! EWWWW!

So I guess your body doesn't metabolize meat quickly enough that it starts to break down on it's own before your body can do it's job??

I watched it as well enthralled with all the information that was given. This morning I quicky went on line and ordered the book. I can't wait to read it cover to cover.

I went out and bought the book this morning. It is 30% off at Target. It is called You, The Owner's Manual by Michael Roizen and Mehmet Oz, both MD's.

I set the timer of my VCR to tape it so now I have it for future reference. I will buy the book of the doctors and I'll get Dr. Judith Reichman's book as well, which is another good book that touches the topic of aging and health in women. There is a history of colon cancer in my family (my grandmother died of the disease) so taking care of myself and my family is very important. I don't have Oxygen so I couldn't watch After the Show. If any of you watched it, could you please share what was discussed?

This is something that I copied and pasted from my library's website regarding the book:

This is a fun, informative and preventative health book like no other.- Dr. Mehmet Oz is hosting a new set of shows on "The Discovery Health Channel in the spring of 2005, coinciding with the release of this book.- Dr. Michael F. Roizen's "Real Age website, www.realage.com, currently has more than 3 million registered users, of which more than 2.5 million are emailed the "tip of the day."

Dr Mehmet Oz....is also the one who wrote the forward to the book that changed my life.....http://smilies.sofrayt.com/fsc/clap.gif[/img] "Eat to Live"...by Dr Joel Fuhrman...:)...Carole

I just got around to watching my tivo'd copy of this show the other night! It really affected me and had me going to the grocery store at 9:30pm hunting for baby aspirin and veggies.

I'm terrible about eating processed foods. If it can't be microwaved or if it's not in bar form -- well, I pretty much won't eat it. I have been eating only fruits/nuts/veggies and whole grain foods for the last 2 days (well...I did also throw in a couple of protein drinks) and I can tell a difference. Oh...and drinking lots of water to keep my poops looking good :)

I heard some things on the show I'd never heard before! And Dr. Oz really gets into his work. He really seems to love his job and does a pretty good job of explaining complex bodily functions. I'm gonna see if the book is at my Target after work today!
