I was running and watching the presleys(sp?) on t.v.I noticed a couple of things.

1.Whats up with the black hair? Why is it that everytime a girl wants to be a rebel she colors her hair black (christina agularia,ashlee simpson.etc....)Lisa Marie was so much prettier with blonde hair.
2.Why does she have her arms folded constantly? She looks like she thinks people are going to attack her.Even when she was singing at the end she had one arm folded around her.
3.When her mother was talking,did anyone else see the look in her eyes? She was always screwing up her mouth or rolling her eyes.Oprah got it right on the end when she said she was very complex and that there was alot of layers to her.I think she is a very angry person.
4.Whats up with Precillas face? It looked like it couldn't move.Plastic surgery? Botox? SOmething.

Sorry to be such a witch but I am cranky today.Not sure why.I normally don't pick people apart...but I feel like I am PMSing today

I haven't seen this episode yet. I always Tivo Oprah. I don't know much about her, but you gotta be nutty to marry Michael Jackson. :)

I taped yesterdays with just LisaMarie and am taping todays at 4:00 of Lisa Marie and her mother. You can only imagine the life she has lived. Both of them! You don't sound cranky, just some observations you made.

I didn't see it, but I do think Lisa Marie had a pretty troubled childhood. I'm sure she's had a lot of people "attacking" her. She's like the female Michael Jackson, without the pedophile thing.

She's naturally dark-haired, so it's not surprising that she has it dyed black. I did mine black when I was in my early 20's. It was because I was depressed. Anything else would have been too cheerful.

I was thinking that Lisa Marie was going to act NORMAL!!!

Lori, I agree with you about Precilla's face. Her lip enhancement looks botched, ala...Meg Ryan, Melanie Griffith and Farrah Fawcett(poor creature). I'm PMSing too, so we are allowed to "critique"

Lisa has more wrinkles than her mom Priscilla. Priscilla has fish lips and just looks so fake in my opinion. Lisa has way too much make up on and should not have dyed her hair black.
The whole thing I got out of watching the show was "dysfunctional"/"weird"

Im glad I am not alone.As I was writing it,I didn't know if I was being to critcal or not.Shame on me.
I got the samething from the show,dysfunctional and weird.As much as they were saying they have a good relationship now, I don't beleive it.She had facial expressions as if she was still a teenager.
Priscilla also looked like death.She as no color in her face....Im still being nasty!

I actually called my sister during the show to make sure she was watching. I thought Priscilla looked awful! Her hair color was...yuck! And her face was so botched, I really felt sorry for her. She was really a naturally pretty woman before!
 
I just finished watching the show. I agree that Priscilla's plastic surgery looks awful, but she is still pretty. And she behaves in a pretty manner. She speaks well and holds herself well, a very gentle woman. She has also kept her figure looking nice and dressed in flattering, appropriate clothes.

I thought Lisa Marie's clothes were very unflattering. And I am sorry to say this, but she just doesnt have the gift of singing. It was painfull for her mother to watch Lisa Marie's performance. Lisa Marie is a great writer but NOT a singer.

I think they both have great love for one another. I could feel the love between them. Dysfunctional? Yes. But they still love each other very much.

ITA. Priscilla was a stunning woman, and would still be. She looked like plastic surgury gone bad to me. But still classy.

Lisa marie is still in her rebel stage, it seems.
 
Not that I have ever considered plastic surgury, but if I did this would certainly scare me off. Just goes to show that now matter what it costs and whether you can afford it or not, things can still go horribly wrong.

I agree with Madonna though, she comes across as a beautiful woman, and once I got more interested in what she was saying (i.e. got my eyes off those poor lips:p ) I hardly noticed her face.

The other thing that Oprah said that kind of stuck out was the fact that with extrememly rare exception, Lisa Marie has had a life unlike any other. I think she mentioned only John Kennedy Jr. as a comparison. The notion that you are famous from conception and the entire world has an idea of what you must be like, or preconcieved ideas of what they want you to be like, and you will never live up. I think Lisa has lived her life the best she can in her own sort of normal.
 
I'm glad Dani mentioned Lisa Marie's upbringing because although many of you were making extremely critical comments, I don't think that was being taken into account. I don't even think John Jr. should be a comparison because he came from a background of politics and comparatively, pretty conservative.

Lisa Marie's Dad was a musical God in some people's eyes and Elvis' own background was extremely non mainstream. Even though there was plenty of money, In terms of emotional support, she's had a pretty rough life, IMHO. Don't forget, Priscilla was extremely young and probably pretty immature herself when she had Lisa Marie.
 
Yes Lori, I watched and noticed the same thing. Priscilla's face looked to plastic and her lips funny.. and I agree about Lisa make-up and both of their hair.... I think Priscilla is over doing trying to look youthful, and they both need tips on make-up and hair.... but I do think they are pretty ladies other than that, just wished both of them were happy people........ I think Lisa's new album is all remakes of other peoples music, the one she sang yesterday was a remake of Glen Frye from the Eagles "dirty laundry" ... oh and her daughter apparently has changed her name she used to go by dannell,(spell check) ... she was named after her dad..... now her name is riley.... Rhonda
 
I agree that Priscilla's lips looked AWFUL. But, I think Lisa Marie is stunningly beautiful. I did not care for her outfit, but I think she is gorgeous. I think she crosses her arms all the time because she is insecure and feels the need to protect herself. I also thought her singing was very beautiful. Not so much the song she sang, but the clips from her other songs, I liked her voice.

I watched both shows last night that I taped. I noticed Lisa never crossed her arms til her mom came on the show and THEN, she seemd like a child again being reprimanded. I didn't feel comfortable at all about the way they seemed with each other. Made me feel sad for both of them. I thought Lisa seemed very relaxed on the first show when it was just her and Oprah. I kind of liked her voice too. (on the songs that weren't REAL hard.)

It was Lisa Marie's eyes that bothered me in both interviews - I'm not a celebrity watcher so maybe she always looks like that - to me the poor thing looked drugged and tired. And then her mom came out and she adopted the 14 yo posture - it was just so sad. Listening to them it sounded well and good but you couldn't help but feel the underlying pathos running beneath the surface.
