Hi,

Adobe Flash Player sent and update to the newest version on my computer, and like a dummy, I downloaded it. Now I can't play any vidoes that are on web sites, like Yahoo etc. YouTube and those still work....

any ideas? I tried to go to the Adobe site and get the older version, but they really don't want you do to that, and it's very apparent that you need to know what you are doing....

Thanks for that link...I will try it!

You never had any issues downloading from this site? I am afraid sometimes since I got a couple of virus' and it cost me dearly to get them removed..

Here's the best place, from Adobe.
Archived Flash Player versions Player archives

Didn't think Adobe would actually keep older versions available on their site because of security issues. If you have to keep flash installed on your computer (a huge security risk) it's really a good idea to keep it updated.

BTW I do use oldapps.com on occasion and haven't had a problem so far.

Thanks for the help and the links. I actually tried to download one of the 10 versions from that part of the Adobe site, and all it did was put the files in my "downloads" on my computer, but did not download anything :(.....As you can tell, I am not that computer savy...LOL...

Did you scroll down past 'Playerglobal.swc archives' and down to the actual older versions under 'Flash Player Archives'? For example: (Released 6/11/2013) Flash Player 11.7.700.224 Win Only (109.28 MB)? Click on the portion highlighted in blue and save it to your computer. Then you have to go to your downloads folder and click on the file to 'extract all files' (because it is in a zip format). Then you can install the unzipped file. This will all hopefully work if you are on Windows.

Thanks, will try their method for Uninstalling, ( maybe I didn't get all the ohter files etc when I used the "uninstall" function on my computer), and installing an older version as you described.

I did see that I really do not have the most recent version either, so maybe that could be it? It's like there is a new version out every week

I have the same problem. I can watch youtube fine but no longer videos on here or some others. It's been this way for a couple of months for me. I've downloaded adobe a few times and i'm not tech savvy at all. So i'm still lost:confused:

Well I'm glad I 'm not the only one! Not that I would wish this on anyone else, but it is so annoying! I can get the videos to play using Google Chrome or Safari as a browser, but I don't like them. It has to do with Internet Explorer and Flash Player I guess, but now sure the the problem is, or where it is...:(

Try uninstalling Windows Update KB2670838

And this site has a few other things to try. Adobe Community: Flash Player not working in IE 10, Windows 7 64 bit version

If you have Windows 8 this might help. http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-issues-windows-8.html

I actually use Google Chrome for almost everything (has flash built in). Except on my iPad :)

Really hope something gets flash to work.

Thanks for those links! I have been looking all over the net for info...I have Windows Vista 64 bit...so that may be part of it...I will try these tonight when I get home! :)

Well ended up having to buy a new PC... it got so bad nothing would work....maybe a virus, although all the scans were clear....time to get a new one anyway, this one was about 5 years old.

Thanks for all your suggestions and assistance..I guess it was just time to bite the bullet and replace it.
