To those who have new fusion workout DVD

Does your workout freeze/jiggle at about 6 minutes 24 seconds into the Fusion workout? Mine does, and more than just for a layer change. Just wanted to see if it's a problem with the DVD I got, or a general defect (which is what I consider it to be).

Yes, I noticed that also today when I previewed Body Fusion. In fact, I rewound it a few times to see if it was a momentary glitch but it happened every time. Strange...

Tried to edit my above post- the DVD's look GREAT and I'm excited to do them! Cathe and the crew did a wonderful job. The glitch is not TOO big of a deal, IMO, as it lasts only a second or so.

This is not a glitch. At about 6:20 into the Body Fusion workout is where the layer change is located. If you don't have a seamless player you will see a freeze lasting from 1 to 3 seconds (depends on your player). Most new players made nowdays are seamless and you will not see a freeze at all.

What about 5 minutes, 10 seconds into the advanced workout? There is a "stutter" there as well. If this is a layer change, couldn't it have been planned to not fall within the workout itself? I don't know much about DVD production, just curious. Also, why would these DVD's freeze for an appreciably longer time than other DVD's I have watched.

Hmmm...if new DVD players are seemless, do you (SNM) have any recommendations for good ones that will play the Body Blast DVD's with no problems (I know that these have cause problems in some DVD players)? I think it would be helpful if you posted a list of non-problematic DVD players so that those of us who are thinking of getting a new one can get one that these DVD work well in.

Thanks in advance!

The advanced High Step DVD is a single layered disc and has only one layer. You should not see any "stutter" or "freezes". If you do you should try cleaning the disc and also test on another player.

As for placement of "layer changes" this is dictated by the software we use and DVD standards. We have very little choice on where we can place a layer change.

As for DVD players we recommend, I like “Sonic Blue Players” (aka: Go Video) , but almost any player you buy will usually work. It is important to note that the more features you add to a DVD, the more chances you have of exposing a problem in your DVD players firmware. This is why you will see more problems with our Body Blast series than with our other DVDs. But perhaps this is good time to refer you to a site called DVD Review. Their website can be found at http://www.dvdreview.com. This is perhaps the best website on the web for information about DVDs and DVD players. I suggest you read their FAQ section which will answer many questions you may have. I know in reading the various fitness forums a lot of information that is being posted about DVDs is just not correct and the DVD Review FAQ will help to clear things up. Here is a link to the FAQ Page: http://www.dvdreview.com/faq/dvdfaq.shtml
