Exercise and diet have been on the bottom of the agenda for to long, now I need to get into a program which my hubby can become involved in also I am sure many of you guys have tried lots of things. any ideas please?

You've come to the right place! :) Cathletes (we exuberant followers of Cathe Friedrich) welcome all newbies with open arms and happy hearts! :D

Start with small changes and let them grow as your fitness lifestyle expands. Each day will bring a new challange and at the beginning it can be overwhelming, but you have all sorts of fitness buddies here!

What types of exercise have you tried thus far? Or what are you interested in trying?

She said it very well! Welcome to our forum! We are a very enthusiastic group.

What kind of workouts interest you? Low impact? Jogging? Cycling? Step? MMA/Boxing/Kick box? Boot camp? Tell us more about you. How much time do you want to spend?

Welcome!!! You are going to LOVE Cathe! The first Cathe DVDs I ever bought were Bootcamp/Muscle Endurance and Butts & Gutts. I think they are a great jumping-off point -- especially Bootcamp/Muscle Endurance because it includes a cardio/circuit workout and a weight workout. You can modify to your needs and slowly build up. Cathe offers premixes so you can start by doing shorter premixes and work your way up. I also think Kick, Punch & Crunch/Legs & Glutes is another great DVD to start out on. You can choose from tons of premixes on that DVD too! (Premixes are just condensed/shorter versions of the workouts on the DVD.)

This site has a nutrition manager that costs only $10/month (or you can get a longer plan), and it's really a nice way to keep track of your food intake and make sure you're getting enough calories, vitamins/minerals, etc. It also lets you calculate how many calories you need each day to lose weight or maintain your weight... It's so easy to dip below your optimum calorie range while dieting, but it's so important to eat well when you're working out --ESPECIALLY when you're doing Cathe DVDs that require your energy!! :) Or if you don't do that, I highly recommend keeping a food and workout journal to keep yourself accountable.

Good luck!! Keep visiting these forums! I have learned SO much from these wise ladies throughout the years!
