Timesaver option?

I was wondering whether there will be a timesaver option. I'm thinking that it would be great to have for days when time is crunched -- life always throw you a curve! I've used it many times with Gym Styles. Since the rotation is pretty long, I'll be able to move on with the rotation without missing much.

Thanks.

A Timesaver option is not something that would work very well with STS and is not something we plan on offering.

i totally understand the whole no timesaver thing... i mean the program is the program.... however i'm a little concerned about a whole month where one day i so an hour of just bis and tris? (cycle 3)

or actually any of the days with just two body parts... i normally do not do splits... i hate them! i much prefer to get upper body all done on one day.... however i understand the concept of STS and the splits being necessary... i just don't get how only 2 body parts (especially when it's two little body parts) will take a whold hour?

cute work out clothes are good for AT LEAST an additional 10-15 calories burned!

I'm caving and ordering today but the time factor is still a concern for me too and hoping after they come out people have ideas on how to shorten them to be closer to 30-45 minutes or divided so half could be done in the morning and half later in the day. Some of these are only 1(legs)or 2 body parts and it seems like an hour could be overkill when doing just the back and triceps. I imagine for arms some exercises will work them seperately but others will work both at once.

Cathe/SNM - Before I change my alarm to 3:30am, I would like a better understanding of why that much time (if they really are an hour when all done) is needed to effectively work the muscles of a couple of body parts. I know there are many different exercises per body part but for those of that have busy lives, it is also important for us to balance the effectiveness of our workouts with time efficiency. And I want to be able to move my arm the next day too! :7

Thanks.

The quick and simple answer to your question is “rest” between sets. This is where the majority of your time budget will be spent. With STS we’re making sure to give you at least the minimum amount of rest necessary between sets to make sure the various energy cycles that are necessary in order for you to lift a weight have time to replenish. The minimum requirements of rest for any muscle group depend on the Intensity:

Muscle Endurance 30 seconds
Hypertrophy 60 seconds
Strength 180 Seconds

With the exception of “muscle endurance” we usually do three to four exercises in STS per body part (hypertrophy and strength) and we usually do three to four sets per exercise. This is pretty much standard in the industry.

There is nothing we can do to cut down on the “rest” intervals because we can’t fight biology. The only way to reduce the time of the workouts would be to either decrease the number of exercises or the number of sets. We feel this would damage the effectiveness of the workout and would not be a smart thing to do.
