Time spent on computer

My Cable modem was recently down and I got through all of my housework in record time where I am usually leaving things undone. What does this mean? I think I spend an awfully lot of time on the computer. I cannot imagine having to spend less. Who else has found this???

i live on my computer..during the day my son is at school and DH at work!!!!! in the evening..i prefer the computer to most tv shows... and i am on line out of necessity as many of my classes in my graduate program are online. i only work partime...and i have terminals all around me..calling my name to check the fitness forums and CNN!!;-)

I understand what you mean. Wherever I am there is a computer. I'm always on it at work, and often on it at home. I order almost everything I need online, from underwear to paper goods, and I am even considering starting to get my groceries online.

I honestly cannot remember how I did my job or ran my personal life before they invented personal computers. Whenever I meet someone who tells me that they don't like computers, or don't feel comfortable using them, I feel like we're from different planets. I love sitting here feeling like I have the whole world at my fingertips!! :D

Diane Sue, you've just GOT to get DSL or cable!

Also can NOT live without IM. It's such a great way to keep in touch.

As a Mom with a college freshman it's WONDERFUL way to talk multiple times a day :)

I spend WAY too much time on the computer. I have a new rule...no computer in the morning (unless I'm off work that day), & am trying to implement 1 hour only in the evening. It's very hard.

Me too! I can't imagine how I ever lived without a computer.... considering it is a relatively new addition in my life. I think it borders on spending too much time online but I get so much from it. Motivation, information, shopping! hehe. I live in a very rural area and don't have local shopping options. I think my UPS man thinks I have a problem LOL.

Oh Diane Sue, so true so true! I work in software so I'm on the computer all the time anyway, and then I come home and am on it some more! But there are so many interesting things to be seen, and read and heard on the computer...how can one stay away? :) :)

I too am guilty of being able to spend tons and tons of time online. I don't care for what's on tv most of the time so I do other things and lots of time it comes down to just veggin' out in front of the pc...

Have a great work out!

I smoked my last cigarette on March 17, 2004 at 10:00 pm!

All the more reason to keep the computer operating - anything to avoid housework! I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than do housework.

Well, you definitely got me thinking...thinking I spend way too much time on my computer. So, I will add that to my list of addictions:

1. Coffee (in fact, I'm drinking a large dunkin donuts now!)
2. Cathe
3. computer

Now that I don't work, I spend way too much time surfing the web.

So I have made a computer rule: I'm only allowed on the computer before 9 AM, between 13-14PM and after dinner if my kids let me. In between computer time I study (for which I have to be online too as that's how I can get questions answered, or get help from fellow students).

Oh, I know, isn't it sick? Sometimes I think my life would be so much simpler and productive without the computer, but then I think about how much I learn from it. I am way smarter now since I can surf the net for everything under the sun! (and I do!)
