tightning stomach muscles after C-section

I had a C-section 16 years ago and I never thought of getting fit tell the doctors said I had to before I ended up in a wheelchair, so now that I am feeling alot better and starting to get my strength back I am real interested in getting my ab muscles looking great, my upper half is starting to look good but I can't get the lower half to firm up and someone told me once you have a C-Section I will never have a firm abdominal area? is that true? is there something more I can do to get the lower half to match the upper half of my abs?:)
 
I had a C-Section almost 8 years ago, and I haven't been as diligent as I should be when it comes to ab and core work, but my ab muscles are fairly strong and tight, and they're improving as I focus more on them. I'm overweight, though, so I won't know for about 30 pounds whether there will be any cosmetic improvement. But they are stronger and tighter than when I started after childbirth. (I couldn't do serious ab work for nearly two years because my scar hurt when I did.) I just do Cathe's ab and core work in the CTX series, PS, and BC/ME.
 
I have had 2 c-sections, 16 years ago and 22 years ago. I don't know what type of c-section you had, horizontal versus vertical. I had both horizontal (bikini cut) and my abs are fairly flat and tight. My only problem is around my belly button where I have terrible stretch marks and, believe it or not, ab work seems to be helping that area also. I was fairly active before both pregnancies, however, with exercise and my doctor said I did so well because of all the ab work I had already done. I was actually doing ab work around my 3rd to 4th week postop because my abs were so strong. My doctor said if I didn't feel any pulling or pain to go for it and I did.

I have had the best luck with good ole fashion ab work that Cathe does in most of her workouts. You can do it too. Just be patient and keep at it.

I had two c-sections, 4 and 5 years ago, and my stomach is pretty flat, except for where I have a little scar tissue right above the incision line. I'm even beginning to see signs of a 6-pack! I have cleaned up my eating recently, but what I think has helped is her Ab Hits video. I tack on one of the abs sections after a workout. I only work my abs 2 or 3 times a week, but these workouts are very effective.
