Hi Erin,

I don't use downloads but I finally bought STS this year and really really love it. I have never done a rotation before - just couldn't stick with it but with STS - it's has been so easy 'cos I just love Cathe and her workouts. I have about 2.5 wks left in meso cycle III - strength and I have noticed great changes in my upper body. I look stronger than ever. All I can say is that if you love Cathe, then you will love not having to think about what workout to do each day - it's all there and every workout has been bang on. I did not feel 'worked' in meso I as much as I did in meso II and III but... I did not do my 1 rep max either - I just went with what I know/feel and still felt the program was great. I will move onto other things when I finish but I know I will re-visit STS - it has just been that good. As I've read before - it's worth every penny.

Hi Erin,

You will love STS. Either way is fine. I actually have the downloads and the DVDs. I had the DVDs first and ended up getting the whole library when they first released downloads.
If you are thinking of taking your workouts to the gym, then the downloads are useful. Also, with the downloads, you can make any new workout you want. I made some really nice total body STS workouts with chapters from the downloads. I have a preference for the downloads now that I am used to them. I did have to get the cable to hook my laptop to the TV.
As for the DVDs, one thing that I like that is not on the downloads is that you can have the workouts without the music and use your own music with it. It makes for nice variety. The downloads have the music from STS which I personally am fine with. Cathe works you so good you are focused on what you need to do ;)
When I got the DVDs they came with the guide. I never used it. I used the 1RM in the workout manager and printed all my workout cards that way.
I don't know about your strength but you might find yourself needing to buy some weights as you get stronger. And you will get stronger. The first time with STS will blow your socks off as far as the weights you can lift. I did get the tower which is very useful for pullups/chinups and also for barbell chest press exercises.
I hope this helps.
When you get the program, just get started and all the confusion will go away. :)

I bought the download and it comes with the user guide download. I think everything you need is in the workout manager, including printing out workout cards to track your weights and reps. I got the downloads thinking I would use it at the gym but found I rather work out at home. It was a bit time consuming in my opinion to download the series since it is 40 workouts (I got the squat rack workouts too). In hindsight I would prefer the DVDs since I just watch it on my tv anyways. Either way it's a great workout series.
