The Watercooler - Thirsty Thursday

taprice

Cathlete
Hi all,

I guess it's my turn today to start us off.

Today is a rest day for me; everything is tired.

Have a great day, and I'll check back later.

Tracy

Good morning,

If this first cup of coffee can work it's magic, then I'm going to go to the basement in a few minutes and do 4DS Kickbox and Lower Body premix. I caught up with most everyone at the end of yesterday's thread, so look back if you're so inclined.

All right, who said something that upset Wendy? Why does she need a hiatus from us??

Have a great day,
Sandra

Morning everyone:

When will spring come? Woke up to a dusting of snow;(

My parents come home from Florida today and they didn't bring the sun and warmth with them.

I love Pyramid UB - Last night I did the 1/2hr UB UP mix for the first time. The music is fantastic too. Had enough energy for the HIS from 4DS too:)

Survivor is on tonight so always have to figure out how and when to get my w/o in around that. Now that Apprentice is over maybe I'll just wait until 9pm to w/o.

Lifting a cuppa in the hopes my day here goes better than yesterday.

Ciao

Morning,
Today was the upper body premix from Supersets, then abs/supermans from Push/Pull. Short workout. I took a Clariton last night that kept me awake, but I think it helped with the drip. Will take one this morning and see if it helps me at work. Hope so. May go hit some balls at the golf course today and check into a lesson. I hate to waste money on playing if I need a lesson instead. The official opening is today and now they will charge! I also need to go to the grocery store. The milk in my cereal tastes bad this morning. I'm sure if I check the expiration, it's past.

Patricia, sorry about the snow. We are looking at 73 degrees this weekend! Woohoo. Now the grass will grow and have to be mowed too. I'll probably help DH paint on Saturday, but it will be bike riding on Sunday. I thought you would like Pyramid Upper Body. I like that one too. Almost did it this morning. Hope the day is a good one for you.

Sandra, did Wendy say she needed a break from us? She can't do that, it's like Hotel California here. Traci, does that give you the creeps??

Wendy, guess I missed your post last night. Boohoo, about not checking in. Something we said??? Didn't say? Are you going back to being Amish and getting rid of all your electronic devices, LLL clothes, pants? So the Skipper would rather do math than yoga? On the hill that I came down last night, there were no cinders so I could let er rip. You have to really scan the roads when descending, especially with road tires. They are about 1/2" wide.

Tracy, enjoy the rest day.

Okay, BBL,

Jeanette

Kids are up early because it's ds's 11th birthday and their excited. We bought him Guitar Hero for PS2 and they are busy playing with it at 7:30 in the am. Got to get them ready for school soon.

Traci, oh my goodness on the DOMS and then that killer leg workout on top of it?? What are you doing to yourself? Good luck on the studying!

Wendy- Yes, DH finished P90X, well kind of, he finished all the weight lifting dvds and P90X. He stopped the KenpoX and YogaX after the first few weeks and skipped half the ARX. He did play hockey so thought that replaced KenpoX for cardio. He is now actually using the Pyramids and tells me he is going to do STS with me. We'll see. He tends to work out for short periods and then drop our but he did do lots of the P90X.

Laurie- What running schedule are you following?? Isn't it funny how those extra items appear in the grocery cart ;) , it happens with DH as well as the kids. DS loves the independence of being home alone and told me not to hurry home from work. The dog seems to be getting used to him being home alone.

Wendy- How was the pizza yesterday? So is your ds a little homesick?

Jeanette- My half marathon is midJune, Father's Day. I forget the exact day. I'm going to check out the link to your race later when I have a moment.
Kim

Good morning all!! Hope everyone is doing well today. I had a good night's sleep except for the crazy dreams I was having right before I woke up. I love waking up when I want and not listening out for the alarm clock...I am in such a better mood when that happens! I have a few DOMS from BG yesterday...none in my abs though...so I will try to hit them a bit harder next time. I will be doing GS BSB later today. DD and I are going to do a little shopping later today. I may try to get my trees planted today too, since the weather is good and I couldn't get those lazy retreaters up off the sofa to do anything around here...LOL!!!

personals....

Tracy...
Sounds like you need that rest day today. Take it easy tonight!

Patricia...
I got a real kick out of your grouse story yesterday!!!! And I thought Jeanette lived in the woods...That is nothing compared to the horror you witnessed yesterday! I can't imagine what must have gone through your head at that point...It's a good thing I wasn't there...someone would have had to drag me out of the room before I said something completely inappropriate! Glad you enjoyed PUB last night. Ugh about the snow...it is supposed to be sunny and 75 here today! Did you notice the socks and shoes on the illustrations Traci sent to me?? Is she hinting that I am old??

Sandra...
Lest you think that Wendy has been offended (which I don't thing is possible)...she has to get all of her homeschooling things together to present to whatever higher powers she has to answer to. Hope you are having fun with 4DS right now...I will eventually finish my rotation and do that one for a few weeks! I think all of the darn mulching is what tweaked my knee again...Well...no..that just added to it, now that I think about it. I actually fell in DD's room as I was hanging a canopy over her bed (since her room wasn't girly enough to begin with...lol) and landed on that leg a bit too hard which threw my knee out again...and THEN the mulching project started which didn't help it. How are things going with the thesis?? Any news??

Jeanette...
Sounds like you had a productive ride last night! And DH's project momentum seems to be back...so all is good! Glad to hear the animals are hanging in there, too. I can't imagine that the muscles aren't pretty strong around my knees...the other knee never gives me any problems even with very high impact..I think I just twisted this one and pulled the ligament again....who knows. I should probably go to a PT, but don't want to put that on my insurance since I am sure they will use that against me later! See...the calves are good...you guys didn't even notice how undefined my upper body is since my calves were so impressive...LOL! DD does get good grades...The conference lasted all of about 10 minutes (scheduled for 30) since she is doing well...and is a sweetie. She wants to please her teachers and do a good job. Novel idea in this day and age, I think sometimes. Go back and look at he picks from the Shadyside stuff...look at the shoes and socks they illustrated! So, things are moving forward with your promotion??? Let me know what you are hearing. Hope things go well at the golf course this afternoon. I am sure all of your practice on the Wii will pay off!

Kim...
I think an inch lost on waist and hips is always a good thing!! And 3 pounds is great considering all the muscle you were building. It sounds like you got a lot more definition, too, in your muscles. Way to go!! And I am sure that I missed this too, but what kind of rotation are you doing now?? Happy birthday to DS!!!!!! God bless your heart for listening to guitar hero first thing in the morning!!

Wendy...
So glad you got those kids fed last night. Have fun with your favorite gay/guy at yoga...You aren't going to get naked are you?? Do NOT take off your shirt in yoga class! I though of you this morning when I am trying to do a couple of things and DD kept getting under foot...How does that work when you have 6?????

Lea..
You crack me up as usual!! I can just picture you and DH doing naked yoga. Take care of yourself....I am sure your legs must be tired from all of that walking!! Take the time to breathe, my dear sweet woman. Hope life is settling for you a bit.

Traci...
Thanks for the recipes...I am sure that someone who eats healthier then me can use them...LOL! I thought of you last night while I was eating my little can of soup for dinner. I had a little cracker with it.

Laurie...
I know.....the darn knee...I think if I take it easy on step for a couple of weeks, hopefully I can get it back to it's normal self along with doing my leg workouts consistently. That's cool that we will have some of the same people at the ren faire! It is supposed to be rainy here on Saturday, but the next couple of days are going to be sunny and in the 70's. Why didn't we have this weather last week?????? Ooops on the running! Glad you had fun at the grocery store with DD...I hate taking mine with since she is always steering the cart into some little old lady!

Okay...think I am caught up for now! Hope everyone has a good day...I am off to take a shower since I never got around to that yesterday and the good people at the shpping center will be avoiding me if I don't!

S&H Legs + 4DS Bootcamp Cardio

Good morning girls,

I figure popping in to say hey and leave a self absorbed post is better than not chatting at all. We're coming down to the end of the school year and things always get a little muddled.

I see Wendy won't be popping in:( I know the feeling of being overwhelmed. I still want to keep up with you all though so I'll come chat when I get a chance and try not to worry that the length of my post isn't where it used to be.

Debra, How are things with XDH? Does he still have a job? i thought that would be a pretty crumby payback for him to lose everything. I guess in the end he chose it, huh? Go easy on that knee, you only have two;) Love the pictures of the gang! You all look like you're having fun. Glad to see CBL made it:D

Tracy, How is your FIL? I suppose at 93 there not much hope of a full recovery. So bummed you missed the retreat. I guess it was meant to be that I didn't drive down with you.

Jeanette, You look so beautiful in the retreat pictures! I'm sorry I wasn't able to meet my West Coast buddy:( Are you excited that cycling season will be here soon? We are supposed to get some warm weather this weekend so I figured you might too. Enjoy the golf!!

Lea, Have fun with your walking and naked yoga:D I see you're coming to visit our lovely town for vacation. Enjoy the trip. Sea World is a fun place to go. My three younger brothers and sister go every weekend to the beer garden there and have a blast!

Traci, We'll miss you today:( You always have a cheery word for us so I guess we'll have to wait for our pep talk until tomorrow:D Enjoy the down time!

Sandra, Hope the cup of joe gave you a boost! I actually went and purchased a coffee machine yesterday and forgot to get filters:p I guess I'm a creature of habit. I have had an espresso maker for so long I forgot coffee makers required filters until this morning:( Enjoy 4DS they're all good.

Patricia, I see you're a fellow fan of Survivor:) Don't you have a DVR or Tivo? I couldn't live without it. Where abouts do you live? I'm guessing north or Canada. I think I'm going to do a round of Pyramid workouts next month.

Kim, Happy Birthday to DS! My boys love Guitar Hero. They play it at the neighbors as often as they can:) How is the marathon training going?

Wendy, We'll miss your cheery chats but I understand. Maybe you could just do self involved short posts for a while so we can see your sunny face:D Enjoy the break!

Off to workout! See you later:*

Nicole

Morning Ladies,

I was not able to get in the GS BSB workout in yesterday, so that is what I did this morning. I was at the track meet last night, and didn't get home until 9pm. It was sooooooo cold yesterday. I was sitting in the stands with my winter coat, hat and gloves on. I also brought a blanket from the car. I didn't get there in time to see DD run the Distance Medley, but she was the anchor leg with the mile. They got first place and she ran her mile in 5.45. She was on cloud nine with that time. :D She did triple jump, and they got 4th with that. Her 4x800 was not so good though. Bye the time they ran that race it was freezing, and DD had a hard time warming up. The relay team as a whole got 4th place. Both the boys and girls teams for her school won the meet. Next time they run is on Saturday, and we are suppose to be getting snow. x(

Tracy, Have a great day off from exercising. I imagine that your brain is tired too with the study time you are devoting to the ACE exam.

Sandra, I love fried rice, so will make a note on that recipe. Should be making one of the meals tonight for dinner, so will let you know how it turns out. Love you answer to what made you smile. I think your toddler cracks me up sometimes too. :7 :7

Partricia, Dang on the snow! We would have had some last night if it has started to rain. I loved your story about the grouse, not something you expect to see at work. :D :D

Jeanette, You mean to tell me that your DH didn't step foot in a grocery store either. :D Sounds like a good ride when you can have a tailwind. Maybe that is what DD had with her run yesterday. The worst part of last night was when the sun went down, that wind just seemed to bite through you body. Oh have fun with the budget, that is the time of the year I dread the most.

Debra, Glad you where able to get a sleep in this morning. Those are always nice to have. Be careful with that knee, and your planned tree project. ;-) I looked at the link Traci sent, but didn't notice the socks. :7 :7 Will check it out again so I can see.

Kim, For my running I am following Hal Higdon's Marathon Novice Supreme. "NOT" that I'm training for a marathon. ;-) I have not been running consistantly in over a year, and needed to start upping my miles slowly. Maybe someday I will be brave enough to actually try a half or full. MAYBE!! :7 :7 LOL about the don't get home right away with your DS. My DD is the same way! I think that she doesn't even like it when I check up with her while I'm away. :D

Wendy, We will be here when you get yourself up-to-date on your home schooling. Hope it goes well, and doesn't take you to long. Glad the pizza turned out great. You have made me want some apple pie though. :9

TG, Would love to meet you too.

Traci, Thank you so much for the recipes. I am going to try the cauliflower mashed potatoes.

Nicole, I'm waving as you fly by. :7 :7

Laurie

Ted said thank you, you guys put a smile on his face:)

Laurie: :) :)

Jeanette: I miss you too;(

Wendy: Sounds like you have enough eguipment:)

Well, not sure if I'll w/o out tonight after all. A supplier is taking the family out for dinner and even though we'll be home in time to make sure DS gets to bed I might be to stuffed to move. I guess I'll have to tape Survivor for sure just in case. The VCR has been eating tapes lately and just have not set-up the DVD recorder yet to the cable t.v.

Hope everyone is having a good day so far.

Well I had a busy day today, I did CC6 with Sean for the first time which I really liked and 2 full unassisted chin ups!! I'm going to pick up ds soon and take him to the local high school to set up his science project for the divisional science fair tomorrow and then out to Boston Pizza for a birthday supper.

Sorry I was going to catch up on persoanls but dd is calling for help with her music homework. BBL

Hi ladies,
It's me, the perpetual "missing lady", the one traveling between the 2 continents never really knowing where she is... Well for now I am here in the US for a while. We came in Tuesday, late afternoon.
There is a lot going on in our lives lately and I might be away from the "gang" for a while...I'll explain when I can.
I just wanted to say HI, I miss the chats and promise to be back.
<<<<<<<HUGS & KISSES>>>>>> to all ;-) ;-) ;-)

Shuush!! Where is everyone today...Yesterday we had 32 posts and today I am making #13...Do Traci and Wendy really talk that much??? Anyhoo...just popping on to say good night...I will catch up with personals tomorrow. I had a long and busy day spending XDH's money...My juicy rationalization for the day is that this is my last clothes/shoe buying season while I can still spend as much as I want on anything....so, I did....LOL! And my shoe and purse collection is the better for it. And of course....so is the diva's!

I had lots of energy today, so I got BSB completed this morning....plus a section of CTX abs since suddenly I am concerned about how flat my tummy is....Amazing how the start of spring does that to a woman. I am planning GS CT tomorrow and yoga on Saturday.

Nothing else major to report..See you all in the morning!

Kisses to all!!
Debra

Hi coolers,
Good day at work today. When I got home, I checked DH's painting (he was still at it), and left for the golf course to hit some balls. The driving range wasn't open so I just played a few holes and then grocery shopped. Am now settled in with DH while he's flipping channels like a madman trying to find something to watch. We've gone from Ax Men to The Abyss. Hope he settles on something soon.

Debra, hope you got those trees planted. I've never seen a tulip tree before or even heard of one. Do they flower for a long time? Yep, us retreaters were pretty useless. You couldn't blast us off the couch or pry a wine glass/coffee cup out of our hands to do anything useful. And if we had a free hand, it was pretty busy petting Polly. I didn't near anything on the promotion. I'll ask again tomorrow. Today was a visit from a big muckity muck from Sacramento so all the bosses were busy kissing up. I think I should have practiced more on the Wii. My few holes of golf today were pathetic. Good thing I didn't have to pay for those few holes. I'm trying to line up a lesson soon. The golf course is under new management and I hear there will be a guy to teach. Please give little Julia a hug for me and tell her how proud I am of the job she does in school. She's a special one.... How is the knee feeling today? Once in a while, I get some strange pains that feel like they are deep inside the knee joint. Hopefully yours is just a strained tendon or something that heals easily with some rest. Glad you enjoyed spending that moolah! I would too!

Kim, so a couple more months until your half. You've done a half before if I remember right. My 25 miler isn't too bad, especially now that I know the course. So much of cycling is mental for me, especially the first time you tackle hills on a new route. If I don't know how steep the hill is going to get, sometimes I tend to give in instead of toughing it out. Bet everyone enjoyed the birthday party. Is your DS participating in any sports right now? Great job on CC#6! I've never done that one before.

Nicole, we missed you at the retreat too. Hopefully, next year you can attend. It'll be closer to home. We are supposed to have some nice weather this Sunday so I plan on helping DH with painting on the house on Saturday and riding on Sunday. I'll be home from riding fairly early so he and I can go take the girls out somewhere.

Christiane! We miss you! Please post when you can. Hope nothing is wrong.

Laurie, your DD is quite the track star, isn't she? Did you run when you were in school too? Darn, I was hoping you were going to say that this weekend would be warmer. Not fair. Wind and cold, brrrr and miserable. Budget time is stressful. We need to spend about $200,000, which we can easily do. Deadlines are sooner this year than previous years.

Patricia, I need to purchase a new DVD player. Mine is a source of irritation and is getting worse. I'm just a tightwad and am holding off getting one.

Okay, must go now. Really, I need to go to bed earlier tonite. That Clariton kept me up last night. I took Mucinex Maximum Strength tonite, but I don't think it will keep me up.

Jeanette

Good evening,

I hope you all had a good day. I did work my way through 4DS Kickbox & Legs this morning, but can't say my kicks were terribly impressive. My hamstrings were still tight. Let's see what you've all been up to.....

Patricia....PUB is a terrific workout, I agree. I hope that snow melted quickly, and that dinner was yummy.

Jeanette....What a fun workout you did today. I'm going to do Push/Pull upper body 2x tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it! Unfortunately, I do think what you experienced with the bike ride after GS Legs is indeed how you stress the muscles to work more efficiently. It had better be, or I've been tiring myself out for nothing! LOL! I was the lion, of course!! Sean is particularly motivating in CC#5, I think. I'm making a note: get mirror for glasses. Very smart.

Debra....Thanks for explaining Wendy's abandonment. I remember last year when she had to do all that; it sounds like a ton of work. Well, didn't your shopping trip today just make the rest of us turn green with envy. You go!!!

Kim....Happy birthday to DS!! I think it's terrific how he's loving the new responsibility of being home by himself for a bit. 2 u/a chin ups!! Just think where you'll be 8 weeks from now, if you keep this up! I've only done CC6 with Candace, so far. I'll have to give the Sean version a try soon.

Nicole....What's up with buying a coffee machine? Why aren't you still making espresso?

Laurie....Your devotion to your daughter's athletics is very admirable. I'm still agog at over her running a full mile in 5.4mins!! I think that's how long it takes me to do a kilometer! On a good day! The toddler really had me laughing tonight. 2.5 is a really fun age, isn't it?

Christiane....Nice to see you fly by! Keep us updated when you can!

Well, it's bedtime. Have a nice evening. See you all in the morning. I plan to do Push Pull upper body 2x through, with 6 rounds of push/pull ups inserted throughout. That should take about an hour. If I get my butt in gear early enough, I'll add a 30min cardio. Probably step.

Bon soir,
Sandra
