The Start of a Long Fitness Journey...

Hi Cathe (and everyone else) -

I just wanted to thank you for helping me start getting back into shape. I have struggled with weight my entire life - I was overweight through about my 3rd year of college. At that time, I decided to make a change. I worked out for about a year and a half and was in pretty good shape and healthy. Then once I graduated, I took an office job where I sit all day. I stopped working out and started slipping back into my old ways (gaining about 50 lbs. :O) About a month ago I went for a checkup and was told my blood pressure was up and I needed to start moving. I knew I had to do something because my health depending on it. That is when I descovered your workouts. I started doing the Cathe basic step workout and a week later ordered the Beginners rotation. I have now completed the 1st month and feel excellent. I am a long way from my fitness goals, but I am starting to see muscle definition (especially in my legs), my clothes fit better, and my knees no longer hurt when I do step! Its a great feeling! Its going to be tough, but I know I can count on support from all the great people that use this forum. Thank you all (especially Cathe!) I hope to get to know all of you alot better along my fitness journey!!
 
Not Cathe here, but just wanted to congratulate you on completing your first month!! You're off to a great start. Keep at it, and soon, working out will become such a regular part of your routine that you'll never want to miss a day. Eat as cleanly as possible, in addition to your workouts, and you'll be back to your fit, healthy self in no time (well, a little time!).

Stick with it, ask questions, and you will be amazed and what will happen to your body (mind, and spirit!!).
 
Welcome to the forums Lindsey! Thank you so much for sharing your fitness journey with us. Congratulations on all you have accomplished and I anticipate 2008 bringing you even more success. You are going about this all so sensibly by starting off easy and gradually letting your body adjust as you work your way into higher intensity. Lot's of luck to you and please keep us posted on your progress.
