THE SNOW!!! My poor back!

Hi Aila!

Yes, definitely some stretching ... and a nice hot bath tonight. :)

I've been working out very consistently for the past 3 weeks -- usually only one day off per week -- and I've upped my weights, so I'm feeling pretty good.

However, I know way too many people who've had back problems/surgery (all at early ages) to be not be careful. I'm trying to remember to lift from the bottom up and take the stress of my back.

No flinging snow, either. I scoop it up and walk it over to the side and dump it.

Okay ... now I really need to go back out and shovel again. Off I go!

Yes Nancy!! My children are begging me to play in the snow already!! It looks like about 3-4" so far. I have 2 baby showers this afternoon and doubt I will make be able to go. They may even cancel them. I am sure it will hit your area soon. It really is coming down hard here.

Aila

Jes,

I am in the city and they only plow the main roads. We have to shovel our own properties and sidewalk. I shovel mine towards the curb on my street.

I'm planning to go into the office this afternoon. I hope there are no problems on the subways. I can never figure out why the subways seem to be so affected by the weather outside, but they are. It's so annoying x(

You have to shovel it so you can actually exit the house and walk out of it to get to your car! And you pile it up well away from you, at the sides of the road, pavement or in next door's garden! Whatever!

Just get it away from me, NOW!!!!!!!

I had a doctor's appointment at 8.30 this morning and for starters I couldn't even find my car under the foot of snow that must have fallen all night! then it was clear on the outisde, but the windows all froze up on the inside so it was pretty dangerous to drive, then people were getting stuck on hills and oh, man! If you have snow and you can stay in today and just do Cathe and clean house and not go out, and avoid all the other lunatics on the road, you will be much happier and safer!!!

Someone fly me to Florida.........sigh ;-)

Clare (from London where we NEVER HAVE SNOW!!!!!!!!!!)

Wow! The snow finally hit here and it is coming fast! I got to the supermarket and they were starting to run out of stuff. I can't believe I was actually contemplating going to the office today. My Mom said we could have up to 18 inches!?! Can it be true? I'm so glad I have my Cathe DVDs and Movies-On-Demand on cable. Oh, and YOU GUYS!! :D

Well, my baby showers are now cancelled. DH just took the kids out to play. I just made a pot of coffee and have planted my self in front of the computer. It is still coming down here like crazy!!

Aila:)

We are geting the blizzard tonight and tomorrow. This is the third major storm in seven days. I am geting cabin fever! :) It not funny anymore!

A lot of the subways run above ground in spots, Nancy. I was on the 1/9-2/3 this afternoon and it was just creeping along--everything on the local tracks. I wonder if the trains will even be running on Sunday or what the buses will be like, as I have a crazy friend who wants to drag crosstown to a museum tomorrow. :p

Bunbun, they're reporting on the news that all the subways are running on schedule, but somehow I'm not buying it. I've seen them slow down even for drizzle!

We live in Central New Jersey and my husband and I finished snow shoveling about an hour ago. It wasn't too bad with both of us working. We also like to shovel as it's coming down so it won't be so bad when the snow finally stops. I'm sure we'll be out tomorrow shoveling some more. Our three-year old son was outside with us and he absolutely loved it! He had so much fun climbing the snow mounds and rolling in the snow, he enjoyed every minute of it. When we finally came in the house his cheeks and nose we're red, he looked so cute.

Don't believe them! Especially now. I'm watching the news and the "real" blizzard hasn't even started yet--apparently, the storm is going to swing back in from the east and that's when we'll get blizzard conditions. Oh joy. :p I'm wondering what, if anything, will be open tomorrow?

We were supposed to get about 8 inches in the WAshington, Dc area, but it looks like only about 3 actually fell. Good deal!! They say that it will start raining next week (Wednesday) and will warm up to the upper 40's! By next week, this will all be a distant memory!!! (I hope!!!)

Hey, Jancorrin...

Jancorrin...I haven't met you yet. I live in Maryland & DH works in D.C. Where do you live?

We got about 3 feet here according to DH, but it's supposed to be worse tomorrow. Or should I say later today?

Ruth:)
