The new set, am I missing something??

I have been out of the loop around here and I haven't been able to keep up with all the talk about this new series, but I just noticed the background set while watching the previews. I'm not sure I like it. I thought she built a new set prior to making this series but I don't recall it looking like that. Of course, I can't wait to get these in my hands and all, but the set seems so subdued, and those bare trees through the windows look rather depressing. At least, that's what I think I see through the windows. My picture is rather small.

Yes, those are trees. If you go to the blog and scroll down almost to the bottom, you'll see a whole entry on the new set.

I quite like it, personally:)

I like Cathe's new set too. IMO, it is more relaxing to have images of nature around. Not that Cathe's workouts are going to be relaxing in the least!!

I have to add my 2 cents to say that I seriously love the new set. I prefer a more subdued view, and like the natural touches. Of course, my feelings may be influenced by the fact that I truly hated the last set, so there's that. I just think it looks calming and pretty, really. Can't wait to stare at it as I writhe in massive Cathe pain. ;-)

I can't wait to get Cathe's workouts but I too do not like the new set. Maybe it will look better on tv but so far it looks just like a regular gym on a rainy day. In my opinion the previous sets were way more beautiful.

When I'm dying of pushups, I doubt I'll care what the set looks like because I'll be so dizzy, hallucinating about the angels coming to take me home over yonder river Jordan....

Susan, that's true, I think once any workout kicks off I don't pay much attention to the set at all. That being said, although this may be slightly blasphemous, I did find the last set very reminiscent of that old Firm set in the library mansion (and kept expecting some fem-bots to beat down the door, heh-heh).

I like the new set a lot, though. I think it looks very natural and relaxing.

As far as the last set goes, I know whenever I look at the discus thrower statue, I always remember learning as a kid that he's actually in a very poor position for throwing a discus effectively, but great for showing off his physique.

I read that real athletes tried immitating his form, and couldn't get the disc to go very far.

Howw ADD is that? :p heehee

I'm sure the new set won't bother me once I'm doing the workouts. Heck, I didn't care for the old sets either (I always thought them kind of tacky) but the new set looks like a classroom with windows. Honestly, I wish producers of exercise videos paid a little more attention to the background. I don't know who designs these sets, but in general, I find most pretty bad.

I think the worst set ever is the one in the Jari Love RTTC workout.

Dingy, grey, dark, boring, yechhh...

I rather like the new set. It's simple, clean and refined. The last 2 sets seemed like they were trying to "get too much in" and seemed cluttered to me.

It seemed like from one series to another, there were more and more things "growing" on the sets, LOL! I'm glad this set is a little cleaner.

I wish that was the view outside of MY classroom!
