The new High Step

Does anyone know of a source where this can be bought now? I know this site says September, or thereabouts, but it obviously exhists.....doesn't it?

Also, how come it only comes with four risers, and most Cathe videos have at least six. Will you be able to get extra risers?

Thanks for any input, and just ignore my impatience, I am feeling whiny today:)
 
Hi Dani!

The High Step will not be available until September. It is not available til then unless you make a homemade one which has directions somewhere on this site. The ones you see in the vids were specially made for Cathe & crew. If you have the Original Step "The Step", your risers will fit the High Step, which is what I plan to do to make it higher then 12". You are not the ONLY one who is impatient. LOTS of us here waiting!!! Here is a post by SNM in case anyone missed it:

We expect the High Step that you see in many of our videos to be ready to ship this September. You will be able to purchase just the top (price to be announced shortly) or both the top and risers combined ($59.99 + s/h). We will have ordering information ASAP

I think I am just hungry/grumpy.....or something. I appreciate your note, and I am glad the risers will fit the step I have. That is nice. I can't recall off hand how many there are in the PUB, where you have to lay on the step like a bench. I hope it makes it a bit taller when combining the risers I have with any new ones, easier to get up and down with all the switches.

I hope this new one is stable. There is one shot, in a video, where the top kind of flips up for a second as it is stepped on. Of course it all goes back to form and being careful, but my Firm step feels very stable to me. It just isn't tall enough anymore.

Am I insane for loving those leg presses?! More, taller, heavier....It is just that they WORK.

Well, I just ordered one from that site.... sooo, I hope they are actually available now and aren't going to be shipped in a month or two... my credit card didn't need the damage immediately :\ . Anyway I guess if you guys want to wait before ordering, we can let you know if we actually received it within a reasonable amount of time.... :)

Well, for those of you who haven't been in the "Ask Cathe" forum, SNM responded to the High Step question saying that they didn't know of anybody having them available yet for distribution. Which means that I probably "pre-ordered" the step a month or more in advance! Oh well. I'm <hoping> that it isn't so, but I believe SNM over anyone else :) My pooooorrr credit card :-( That's what I get for being rash, eh? hehehe

I consider myself to be fairly good when it comes to finding things on the net, but I have to say that RLMS deserves a tip of the hat! I honestly looked! I am sure that SNM didn't know, and I still believe in them. To be truthful, I feel a little bad not buying from them. I am a person who puts my money and support to vendors I believe in. Small town mentality of support your local merchant I suppose. I confess I just got a little impatient.....especially when you watch the video and "they get to do a 16" leg press"( she says whining-ly!);-)
 
I was actually looking on the web for a new weights rack and just happened to run across it. I haven't ordered yet since I only need the top, but I hope you get yours without too much trouble.

I so hope you are right :) I did e-mail them a question about it yesterday, but I forgot to send my order number... aren't they supposed to read my mind?? hehe Anyway, I'll let you guys know what they say.

Just an update, my order has been placed and I received a confirmation email. I tried to track it this morning and they keep telling me the item has not shipped yet. Thinking of what has been said here, I thought perhaps they might be doing a bit of preselling themselves. Even though the website says the item will ship within three days, I still called customer service. The lady told me that it looked as if "the warehouse may be backordered" and it is unknown when it will ship. I can read through THOSE lines :p

If my some stroke of luck, it actually gets shipped I will post that. I think possibly it is still not quite available. We shall see. The bennie is that it is a bit cheaper, especially with the internet coupon code. The downside is that you cannot only order the top from this site at the moment.
 
I just did a search on MSN.com trying to see if it was available anywhere else & I got NOTHING! I even copied the name of the step right from the shopbrandsmall.com site, still NOTHIN'! I think they jumped the gun putting it out there & will now have some splaining to do, Lucy! LOL
 
Kathryn is right. The ad says it is 14" high, but there are 4 risers and a top, which means it should be 12" high unless the top is taller than usual. Maybe instead of being a 4" top, they make it to be 6"?
 
There are a lot of things not correct with information on the website you're looking at. I'm sure they're just using an old "information sheet" from last years convention when the High Step was still just a concept. The person in charge of the Step products for Escalade will be up to see us next week and we plan on releasing more details at that time.

This is the reply I received to my question about the high-step. I'm not too thrilled that they are lying to me about the fact that they "recently became out of stock"... They were never in stock in the first place! But I am happy that nothing was charged to my credit card.

So, no luck, guys. SNM was definitely correct. I was so excited, too! :)

High Sara, I got my email this morning, and laughed my head off with the reply.......just as you posted it. The "recently" comment cracked me up! Seems they are sending out the same bologna to everyone.

You know what they say? When it's too good to be true......
 
Me, too :) I thought it sooo funny. I even woke up my boyfriend while he was snoozing on the couch, because I was laughing so hard and talking back to them through the computer :). My question is, did they hope that they would get the money and not have to send these out for another month or two? Or was it really a misunderstanding on their part? I'm curious... because the answer to that question will determine my respect for the company. Oh well, I just have to get excited all over again :)
