the new dvd's and questions about some others

I am looking for some additional information on the new DVD's coming out soon. I want to know when they will be available (if that is determined yet) and how long each one is. I am also wondering how the Gym Style Training compares or is different from the Slow and Heavy series; the Kick Max compared to Cardio Kicks and Circuit Max or Kick, Punch and Crunch. I recently discovered Cathe's videos and love the one I have (MIS). I am a former personal trainer and it is very difficult to find workouts at the advanced level to challenge me. I can no longer do step because of several knee injuries, but I do kickboxing. I am interested in hearing comments on some other strength training and cardio workouts that would be great that last for about an hour or so. After reading the descriptions of several titles, I am interested in (her previous titles) Pure Strength Series DVD, Body Blast Series Vol 2 (kick punch crunch and legs and glutes), Slow and Heavy Series ( all); Vol 3 Intensity Series DVD (Pyramid Upper and Lower); and Body Blast Vol 3 (supersets, and push pull). Any comments on the above would be very much appreciated. I was also interested in the new Muscle Max, Kick Max, and Gym Style Training. I do occasionally have to modify moves to be less stressful on my knees, but wondered what people thought of the above workouts. I usually have an hour to one hour 15 minutes to workout each day; 5 or 6 days per week. Thank you!

Melissa,

You asked a lot of questions and I'm not the best one to answer, but I hate to see a post go unanswered, so here goes...

Cathe has not pinned down a shipping date for the Hardcores, but from the sounds of things, it will probably be first part of February - pure speculation on my part. As for the length, and details of each workout, if you check the "Ask Cathe" forum, all that information is posted there. It will say, "Muscle Max.....Details" and be authored by Cathe or SNM (you can see their logo) and right now all the threads are on the first or second page of the forum.

Gym Style Training is supposed to be at a faster pace than Slow and Heavy, but maybe slower than Pure Strength. It wouldn't be fair to compare KickMax to her other kickboxing workouts, since it isn't released yet. But there is a section of very high impact (15 minutes, or so) in KickMax. But I think the workout is over an hour and that section can be skipped and you still have an hour workout. It also is supposed to include some toning using a chair. Cardio Kicks and KPC are all cardio.

Of the already released workouts you are interested in - well, they are Cathe - how could you go wrong? :) I will say that Push Pull and SuperSets are lighter in intensity than the others you've listed. But I enjoy the premixes (Upper Body 2x or Lower Body 2x). I'd suggest Muscle Endurance, but if you are going with DVD's, Bootcamp is it's partner and may be too high impact for your knees. It looks like you are avoiding step workouts altogether, presumably for that same reason.

Hope I've helped, even just a little.
