The interns brought in cake and muffins...

...How evil of them!

We have a couple of marketing interns (hmph! marketing!) who are getting ready to go back to school - tomorrow is their last day. They brought in all kinds of home-baked goodies. Marble cake with chocolate frosting, and several kinds of muffins. How do you turn down home baked goodness? LOL! Anyone want to come join me for some junk food?

And our engineering intern is also leaving, and our boss is taking all of us engineers out for pizza tomorrow.

And as if all that wasn't bad enough - tonight DH and I are having dinner with Dean Kamen (inventor of the Segway) - it's going to be a very nice banquet.

Someone please hand me my elastic-waisted pants...

;)

OMG.Elastic waisted pants !!! LoL Not Pollyester ones I hope .... No I'm kidding . Hang in there and just get back on track on Monday !!! Good Luck:) :) :)

You think thats bad, we have cookies and donuts here where I work EVERY DAY! Its ridiculous. I'm so glad I can just walk by the stuff and not eat it. We had a huge cake yesterday, I didn't have any of that either.

I hate that, and then everyone complains about how fat they are. DUH!

That is what gets me! I hate it when people complain that they are so fat while they are standing there eating cake or donuts or whatever. Get a clue!

AMEN!!!

I eat an occasional cookie in the office and know that I'll have to watch my food the rest of the day(thankfully, I don't really care for doughnuts, and that is the usual treat-of-choice around here). But I get so irritated at the people who are supposed to be on low-fat, low-cholesterol, low-sodium, sugar-free, etc diets shoveling fatty desserts into their mouths and then complaining about all their health problems that just won't go away, despite the special doctor-prescribed diet they are "following". Gee, wouldn't have anything to do with that big bag of Fun-Size Snickers you keep in your desk drawer, would it?

A lot of people are genuinely clueless about stuff. They don't know how many calories and fat are actually in that cafeteria cookie, because there's no label (not that they would read the label anyway). A lot of my coworkers were brought up in a time when Caro Syrup was touted as being something healthy to give your children. Yikes! It's hard to change their thinking. Oh well...

Someone brought me a box of 10 donut holes today (we call them Timbits here, but they're the little round bits they "supposedly" cut out of the middle of the donuts). They were my "gift" for Admin Professionals Day yesterday. I took them to my SO's place of work at lunch, because I didn't want them. But I managed to resist them ALL MORNING! I'm so proud!

I don't eat that stuff on a regular basis but I still gotta have it. DH buys himself goodies at the food store when we go shopping so I'll have say one donut a week to satisfy my evil little sweet tooth. Also when there is chocolate in the house I will usually eat a small piece every day until it is gone. Again, it satisfies the sweet tooth AND keeps me from gorging on the stuff! Everything in moderation is my motto as I (unfortunately) still LOVE the junk!

Shelley--good for you! I am proud of you!

Wendy--I am the same way. I am better of if I allow myself to eat what I want but just in moderation. If I don't I get cranky! LOL! I still try to be careful though of what I do eat.

I'm proud of me too! I got on the scale this morning for the first time in a month and it hasn't BUDGED. Not one ounce. So I decided I better do something about that if I'm truly serious about losing the last 10 lbs (although at this point I'd be happy with 5).:)

And where pray tell, Miss Shelley, do you intend for those 5 pounds to come off of???

I'd LOVE to have your shape!

Wendy, you WILL. You know, you could have good abs if you'd just do a crunch now and then. You could get rid of the belly if only you'd TRY!:p

LOL you crack me up Shelley! :7

I actually have a mission after the baby is born...I want to get into better shape post baby then I was prior! That would be AWESOME!!!

That's what I did. Of course, it was easy for me, because I wasn't in the greatest shape pre-baby. You're gonna have a tougher job because you're already IN great shape!

Thanks Shelley!

I'll tell ya though...I dream of being a SOLID size 5 again. Haven't been that size since High School! I have clothes that range from a size 3 up to a 9 that fit me pre-pregnancy (crazy, I know!) but I want to be a "NO QUESTION ABOUT IT, 7's are TOO big for me" size 5 when I thru!!! :)

Wendy - I know you've probably heard this and done all the research...breast feeding does wonders for getting that fat off. When I had my first baby, two months after she was born I was skinnier than before I got pg. You can get in better shape than you were prior, and especially because it's your goal you will succeed! Pam :D

I can back this one up. When I was breastfeeding Sophie, one of the things I liked to do was bake. I'd bake pans of brownies, eat them and not gain any weight. I'd bake cookies, eat them, same thing.

Then I stopped breastfeeding and I continued with the baking theme. Didn't work out so well. Gained 10 lbs BOOM! So, then I started working out.

I have to second the breastfeeding helping with weight loss thing. I was able to lose all my baby weight and more when I was nursing full time and finally learned to give up the 2 chocolate donuts every morning on the way to work habit! They say you burn at least 500 extra calories a day to make milk, but I think it's probably more than that at times.

Very cool! YEAY! lol Thanks ladies! You just made my night! :+
