the importance of music

how important is music to you when you are deciding whether or not to keep and use a tape or dvd? fortunately, the majority of the tapes I have have absolutely great music. one of my favorites is kathy smith's great buns and thighs. I could see myself dancing to the soundtrack she uses. I also like her fatburning breakthrough(not too sure about the name. the setting is outdoors.) I have always wondered if I was the only person who took music into consideration, and I would love to hear your comments.

Absolutely. I bought and never do Cathe's High Step Advanced workout because the music is the dullest ever. I never do Imax 1 anymore for the same reason, its music just can't compare to that of Imax 2. I also do Supersets over Push Pull becasue the Supersets music rocks.

I haven't sold any workouts on the basis of their music, but I just give up doing them because their music does not motivate and inspire me.

To be honest...if the music is good, that's a plus...but it holds no bearing on the work out as to wether or not I do it, don't do it, keep it or give it away...It just never affected me much either way I guess...

Have a great work out!:)

Music means alot to me. I hate to admit it here... but i'm thinking of trading off some of my hardcores because i am so disappointed in the music. I do like the imax 3 music though.
It's just something i need. Imax 2 is awesome music, that is one of my fave workouts!

music rules my mood all the time! not just with workouts. cleaning, driving, cooking....everything! great music is very inspiring and the only force that gets my butt moving!

The music doesn't really matter to me, but I admit I can't stand the song that plays on the menu screen for Low Max (something about a 'fire walker'). }(

The workout is the most important thing so even if I hate the music in Cathe's workouts, I just "tune" it out. Most of the music I feel is really dated and wish she had Beyonce in there or Gwen Stefani, etc.

Music is sooooooo important. Even more so when the instructors actaully pay to use real music by real artists. That for me makes it really good. Cathe never uses the real artist, and that is a shame. Bodypump is amazing (the video) because all the tracks are original artists. I love that. I personally find the music in Cathe's workouts rather dull.

The most amazing, and i mean AMAZING music i've heard ever is on Kathy Smiths Aerobox. The jump rope section 3 is amazing. Love that! It never fails to motivate me.

Hey Wayne, I think I remember the music in that one and you are right. I traded it anyway though cuz I could not stand the camera angles........and I liked Powerstrike better. Do you have that, the music rocks in that too........

I think if they payed more attention to music, they would rock more. IT stinks when you see the same people and hear the same tired music. Music is made to move.it gets you pumping as in the song from Rocky!!! You feel stronger, better, faster. Music is important and so are the calls for the Steps and what ever else is going on in front of your face.

I also think music is sooooooooo important for my motivation. I think that is why I don't do some of the old videos such as Imax1 b/c at 5:00 in the a.m. I need music to get my bones a movin'! I am so disappointed in the music in HC. I really hope the next set is better. I just ordered some of the Christi Taylors and her music rocks!!!

Music is really important to me, but I do keep workouts with okay music. Music is what motivates me to move. Music evokes many emotions, and excitement is one of them. When I'm loving the music, I get more energy to continue.

Sharon Mann has the best music ever. She knows how to pick 'em. I love her cardio workouts because her music makes me want to jump around and dance, so that means I have energy for the workout, and plus I love to bob along to the beat during hi/lo.

On the other hand, Aerobic Conditioning on FitTV has horrible music. Actually, the volume is too low, so I can barely hear it. It is unbelieveably boring exercising with that show because the music is so soft; sometimes, there's actually silence because it's that soft. The combinations in their hi/lo are good, but I just can't stick with the show because the music is so soft. Pump up the volume, man!

I probably all ready responded but this is so true, if you can't get pumped during cardio, forget how many well coreographed moves you have, it blows big time. So, maybe they need to remix that one you all don't like and not use that music again. I'm not buying that's for sure, Cathe or not.

This is an interesting question for me b/c what I DON'T want to hear is more important than what I DO want to hear when I'm working out. I kind of zone when I'm exercising & can listen to just about anything as long as it's somewhat harmonic. Meaning any kind of rock & roll, jazz, even easy listening.

But the one thing I just cannot stand is rap & hip hop. I find it unbearably distracting & annoying. I don't mean any offense to fans of this music, but the clientele at my gym is predominantly over 30 & it's unfortunate that the employees--mostly kids betw. the ages of 18-22--have control of the music. It drives me absolutely nuts. And you should see the attitude they give when you ask them to change it. Helllloooooo, I pay $80 a month to come here, I do not want to be annoyed.x(

Music is not important to me. I'd just as well it wasn’t included. I'm soooo glad I turn OFF the music in L&G ~ and the indian tribal sounds in LL, drives me bonkers.

Nothing should be jiggling, unless it's jiggling off. - Cathe in HSC

Music is not important to me at all. When everyone was complaining about the HC music I literally had to go back and check it out. I just never pay attention to the music when I am working out.
