The Happy Story Thread

I remember being out at dinner with my old boss and his three young kids. There was a group of 6 army guys eating dinner, and he had all three kids go over and thank them for their service to our country and he paid their bill. It was such a small thing, but it still brings tears to my eyes. I think our servicemen and women are SO under appreciated, and you could tell that it really made their day.

Did you notice this too...

I noticed as I read this that it stoked memories of good things people have done for me and for those I love. It is so true that where ever or what ever we choose to focus on - grows and becomes more.,..

This reminds me when, as a corporate trainer, I'd ask participants to talk about their best leader...one person's story led to another, and another, and another...

And, the same goes for their worst leader... it would grow and stoke more conversation.

Just a reminder to myself of something I know but sometimes forget: whatever I decide to focus on is going to get bigger and grow - so I guess I'll be real picky about where I focus!

Love, love, love this thread... so great, on so many levels!

All these stories are so wonderful. I just had to add my own little story about my DD. She just turned 6 years old and for her Birthday one of my friends at work gave her a card with a $5 bill inside. She was so excited to get a whole $5 bill and immediately ran to her room and put it in her piggy bank until she could figure out what she wanted to buy with it.

Well, while she was at school a few days later, they were talking about the victims of Haiti and sent home a note to all the parents to let them know they if they wanted to donate money to Haiti they could send it to school with their kids. My amazing daughter came home went into her room and took out the $5 bill from her piggy bank. When I asked her what she was doing she said that she wanted to donate the money to the victims in Haiti. I was so touched by her gesture to use her Birthday money to help the Haiti victims. I was definitely a proud Mommy!!
