Thanksgiving 5K

I did it!!

I ran my first 5K on Thanksgiving morning! I ran with 2 others. One was my niece, who is 13 years old. She asked us to slow down after mile 2 and we walked for a little bit. We picked up the pace again after about a quarter of a mile. Other than that, we jogged the entire race!

Our final time was 31:59!!! We crossed the finish line together holding hands! It was such a fun experience!

There were 8,000 runners this year!! I couldn't believe how many people were there!

It was a truly amazing experience!! I can't wait for another race!!

Thank you all for your encouragement and suggestions about completing this race!

CONGRATULATIONS!! It becomes addictive - I bet you'll do other 5Ks.

Congrats! Nice time!

I did my first 5k on Thanksgiving, too. Took me about 42:30. I was going by my HR and kept my HR under 155, so went as fast as I could and still keep my HR right there. Hoping to do a little better on NYD. :)

Thank you all so much! It was such a fun experience! I was inspired by so many of you who have already had your own successes with running and shared them here!

Thanks for your encouragement and support!

Keep runnin'!!

Congratulations! I think it's wonderful that you ran with your neice! What a great way to bring her into the fun of running!
