Thanks LauraMax ...

Yeah, I find it's not too bad actually. I'm usually sceptic about promises of how a new series will be so 'riveting','powerful' and 'scintillating', AND on top of all that, how it even takes the soap scum off your shower walls :+. But to my surprise my interest in this one seems to be sticking, knock wood. I didn't expect to like 'Big Love' either but its another of my guilty pleasures as well.

Re the Tudors: considering how 'frisky' everyone seems to be, its just like a modern day soap opera except the characters have more layers of clothes to throw off when they, ya know, get busy ;-)

Isn't it fabulous? Every week leaves me wanting more........LOVE Henry's sister--I swear that one scene when she passed out after meeting her future husband had me LMAO. And laughing even harder when she killed him off.

I'm not crazy about the casting for Anne Bolyn though. I always pictured her as being a bit more seductive, but they're portraying her as this kind of childish, virginal girl.

I'm not an expert on this period of history, but from what I do know they seem to be sticking fairly closely to the facts. Re the friskiness, we should be glad b/c it means it might not be cancelled after the first season. A little gratuitous sex keeps the masses tuned in. ;-)

>keeps the masses tuned in. ;-)

For sure! Considering its randy chicks like us at the frontline of the said masses

It's absolutely fabulous!! It's a nice mixture of raciness and humour. I also love the clothes and the mannerism of the period with the modern touch. I was tickled by the fight/sex scene with Margaret and Brandon... it was funny and "cute" at the same time. Henry also amuses me week after week, and he and Brandon are so hot.

In terms of sticking to history - they are following it for Henry, but they are mixing his sister Margaret's story with his daughter Mary's. Other than that, it is pretty accurate.
